    Over 1 Month

1 month Mark: So it was my intent to document my hair restoration but unfortunately I have been to busy to do so. If anyone is intrested I sugest reading Megatron's blog as he documented his experiance. We hade the same doctor and almost the same number of drafts. I would say his blog's reflect well what I am experiancing up to date but without the complication's of infection's. I am experiancing a bit of acne on the head but nothing to bad.

    Day 5-9

Day 6- Monday and I’m back to work. I wore a winter toque to work so no one noticed my hair. I hade one friend comment on the slight swelling around my right eye. I just said I was not feeling well. Donor area still has stitches and one area is still tender to the touch and assuming it’s like this because of the stitches still in place. I continue to follow the postoperative hair care guide given to me after the surgery.

    Day2-4

Day 2-4 (Thurs-Sat) No pain at all in the recipient area but certain parts of donor area still feels tender. No pain tablets have been taken but swelling continues in the face. Woke up Friday (Day 3) with my right eye almost swollen shut. I got scared at first but it was to be expected. I have been using ice packs, which helps temporarily. I still feel like a tugging sensation once and a while where the stitches are but the area feels much better after I take a shower and run the area under warm water. I really hope most of the swelling is gone by Monday as I plan on returning back to work. Apart from the first night I think the worst part is the week of swelling in the face as its very noticeable.

    Day 1

Day 1: Woke up and felt pressure on the forehead and sutured area. Figured it was caused by the expected swelling so I removed the dressing and within 20 minutes I felt much better. I took percocet as a precautionary measure but I probably did not need it. Donor area felt a bit uncomfortable but after I washed the donor area as prescribed the area felt much better. For the day the Donor area felt ok with a little bit of throbbing here and there. Used an icepack to reduce swelling on the forehead.

    First night

Surgery day: We want over the HT plan again and took final pictures before surgery. I was very nervous so Dr. Cam Simmons gave me a few pills and an injection to calm me down. I fainted when I received the needle but that’s pretty standard with me:). The strip was harvested and the recipient area was frozen. It was my first procedure so overall I was very nervous but after the area was frozen I felt comfortable. I would rather go to the dentist but the experience is kind of similar. By the end of the day it did get tiring setting in the chair for about 8hrs. Felt I was in good hands and everyone was professional. The one lady I talked with hade over 20yrs experiance and I believe the second one did as well. Just a note that Dr. Cam Simmons has moved his office to the same location as Seager Medical Group. They share the same office. First night: Got home and felt no pain since the donor area and recipient area was numb. Felt just a very little pain around bedtime so I took one percocet so I could rest better without the pain potentially getting worse. Noticeable swelling on the forehead as expected. Tried to sleep but I was afraid of putting undue pressure on the sutures so I mostly stayed awake with my head elevated about 30degrees.
  6. Hey everyone, Just thought I would start a blog as I’m planning a hair transplant surgery for Nov 3, 2012 and would like to document the process for others wishing to have the procedure. For me it has been a 2-year struggle trying to figure out if the procedure was right for me. As I’m only 31 there is a very strong possibility I will be dishing out more money in the future for a second or third procedure as my hair recedes. For this I decided on a conservative first procedure. The hair on the tope of my scalp is thinning and receding and I wanted to get the surgery before it’s completely gone. After doing research and chatting with other patients I hade elected Dr. Cam Simmons for my surgery of 3000 FUT-T grafts. The plan will be to transplant the 3000 grafts all over my thinning area and leaving the crown as is. After my genetic hair has fallen out of this area we estimate that the transplanted hairs will restore my hair to what it looks like now before the procedure. Although it will still look like thinning hair its something I can live with. These are pictures taken at Dr. Simmons office at the beginning of 2011 so my hair has thinned a bit more since then.
