I've been looking into having a hair transplant for the last 6 months, It started with a visit to a clinic near my home town of Manchester, where I had my first consultation. The choice of strip technique was put forward as the most cost effective and of greater yield i.e. more grafts would be extractable with the strip technique. I went away convinced I did not want a linear scar as I mostly keep my hair short and this would obviously not be ideal. I continued my research on the internet and had a second consultation with a different clinic locally. Again the strip technique was sold as the better option for similar reasons e.g. cost and yield. The gentleman that I met at my second consultation had had a hair transplant using the strip technique and kindly allowed me to check his scar. I was surprised to find his scar was scarcely visible, all be it under his hair. To summarise I have decided to go ahead with the strip technique and have found Dr Humayun Mohmand clinic in Islamabad Pakistan. Appointment booked for Mid January 2012. I hope to add before and after photos and post the progress of my surgery for as long as it takes for the new hair to take and grow (around 6-9 months IA), to share my experience.
