Dr M Distephano

I went to Dr Mark Distephano and had a total of 7,600 grafts...and am going back shorting for another 1,000 in the crown area. The results so far are outstanding. My goal was total coverage on top and after an upcoming procedure, I expect to meet my goals. I found the experience at Dr D to be superlative. I was nervous and concerned but his careful planning and explanations eased my anxiety. The support team that did all 3 procedures was friendly and knowledgable; quintessential professionals

Too long bald...

Well where to start... I am 49 years old and I have been losing my hair since I was 21. On my 21st birthday my mother told me that she thought I was getting a bit thin and to my dismay it was true. Slowly but surely my hair fell out and recently I thought that I needed to do something about it now or I would be totally bald within a few years. I had a hair transplant at DHT clinic recently and I am hoping that it all works out for me.

Day 93 - three months on

I'm at the three month point now, and I'm hoping I'll start to see some regrowth happening soon, based on other people's experiences. As you do, I still scan my scalp each day for any new developments. Here's a summary of what I'm seeing, and what I'm thinking: 1. Plenty of spots still, caused presumably by new hairs. But if that's the case, why are the new hairs not subsequently pushing through and growing out? Also, a few of the spots have left little scars which are taking a while to fade.

My Hair Restoration Journey

Where do I go? Who will I turst? Is this right for Me? After reading the testimonials of many, I found my solution with BOSLEY MEDICAL . I went to an initial consultation in my area (Milwaukee, WI) and found the staff to be very knowledgeable and helpful. I was so pleased with what I learned about the procedure and my possible outcome, that I decided to have a second consultation (at the Chicago,IL site) with one of the BOSLEY MEDICAL surgeons. That’s when I met Dr. William Yates who eventuall

Sutures removed after 14 days of surgery

Guys, yesterday I went to see my doctor to have the sutures removed and my doctor said it is one of the best stiched wound he has seen so far. He mentioned it is of very good and high quality. Other guys who came to see him with sutures removal from hair transplants had very bad stiching and the wound was still festering and my scar is very nice. Again Dr. Rahal is one of a kind just the best.

HT with Dr. Pathomvanich (DHT clinic in Thailand)

Hello everyone, I'd like to thank everyone for their reviews. They have helped me make my HT decision and I'd like to add my input to help others in the future make theirs. Next week I am flying to Bangkok to have a hair transplant with Dr. Pathomvanich. I chose him because of the good reviews he had on this site wrt 1) compactness of grafts, 2) how natural the end result looks and 3) how invisible the scar will be. I think 1 is a very important factor in 2 and 3 is important for me as I hav

Hair transplantation

I have been losing hair since I was around 20 years old...slowly but gradually. After 30 I was thinking that I need to do something about it. I am 41 now and 2 years ago I decided that it had to be done since I felt and look younger than I am. I was browsing all kind of forums to find the best option. Since Dr. Rahal's name kept poping up as the best in hair transplantation and all the feedbacks I read were positive I drop them an email to find out more. Being a Swiss I am very sceptical about

before and after right after the surgery w/ pictures

I received pictures taken at the clinic. I had HT with Dr. Ron Shapiro on Aug 3, 2010. I planted 1325 graft with 662 1hair/graft, 662 2hair/graft, 4 3hair/graft = 1998 hair. The number of hair per graft is a little disappointing but the doctor said asians have typically lower density than caucasian. But even with relatively small number of grafts, I guess the area was well covered. I will keep uploading updated picutre in my blog and website. Good luck for all of you!

Right after the surgery

I have just received my surgery and am taking rest in hotel. Dr. Ron Shapiro did my surgery. One thing I was impressed was that he didn't want to implant too many grafts for the sake of patient, not trying to take too many grafts to raise the price. He seemed almost non-chalant to such issues. Operation itself was incredibly pain-free. I felt very small pinches when they injected novocain. But what makes experience a littlbe uncomfortable is that maybe the valium or the sandwich I had for

Day 60 - two months on

Two months tomorrow since surgery in Istanbul. Two months of avoiding (most of) my friends. Thankfully the World Cup has given me something to do and the English summer has been the usual rubbish so I haven't missed being out in the sun... Not a huge amount of progress to report. No noticeable regrowth - but I am getting regular explosions of pimples, which hopefully means the new hairs are trying to poke through? I am using Bactroban on the pimples as recommended by Transmed, twice a day, but

Very happy with my Hair Transplant from Dr.Kiely

I was suffering from hair thinning on the top of my head, I had almost lost my hairline. It was really embarrassing. I tried Rogaine Extra strength but the results were poor. I live in ireland and went to see Dr.Conor Kiely in Cork. At first he started me on Propecia but again not great improvement. He then did a Hair Transplant on me. I was a little nervous at first but 1 year later the results are great. He told me to continue to take the Propecia as well. I am really happy I got a Hair Transp

prp platelet rich plasma

After about a year and a half of providing prp to patients and doing follow up visits and pics, It appears that the results seem to be long lasting. Of course I recommend when appropriate that the patients utilize propecia , rogaine, and low level laser. It seems however that the patients that do not utilize and maintainance therapy as above are still with a positive result.

My HT Experience

Sorry, I don't have a picture to show you now. I was almost completely bald when I was younger. I'm 56 years old now. I had three sets of transplants. The first when I was about 25. HT were fairly new then. They covered most of my head but looked terrible... didn't look natural. About 20 years later had some more. Found out the surgeon put the hair in backwards, I was still unhappy. Finally Dr. Shelly Friedman in Arizona saved the day. I don't remember how many he did (over 2000) . He also remov

Great Hair Transplant by Dr.Kiely in Ireland

My girlfriend had a hair transplant in Ireland. I live in Liverpool and was going to go to see her for a few weeks. I went to see Dr.Conor Kiely in Ireland and I had a transplant to the front of my head and my temples and I must say I am really happy with the results. It was easier than I thought it would be. The only thing is you need to take about a week off work afterwards if you work in an office dealing with people.. John

15 days post op

I've take a few shots using a high def cam and will start to post some pics. At this time ,I am very encouraged by the results as all of my scabs have fallen out and I have retained about 80% of all the newly transplanted hair and yes, I am aware that it is highly likely that I will lose all of the hair as this is typically normal. The donor area is a bit bit bumpy and swollen but I guess that too will get better in time.

OK So I have been following my regime for almost 3 months now and I must say I am super excited!! My hair line has never looked better (well not within the last 5 years) and it feels so thick too!!! Unfortunately I ran out of ARG Matrix for a 2 weeks and only got back on it a couple of days ago....I can already see increase in thickness and growth of even more white hairs!!! The Temples have really thickened out compared to what they were and now even more white hairs are appearing even lower th
