First Days surrounding the Surgery

Wed Dec1st: I flew in from San Francisco and took a shuttle to my pre-arranged hotel near Encino, CA. . the hotel stay was complimentary which was awesome. I finally got to meet Dr.Mohebi and his staff. Dr.Mohebi came off as friendly, highly knowledgeable, and confident in his work.. he drew my new hairline with a pen and we both agreed that we should add hair to my temples, top forehead and crown. Thur Dec 2nd: Showed up at the office, went over the new hairline with Dr.Mohebi again, and soon

two weeks out

Healing continues to go well. The only thing that's a little annoying is the itching. At times you just want to scratch. However, I am trying not to touch the hairs. I don't want to pull any out. I've been really careful when washing my hair. However, I think the shedding has started. It's not horrible. Just about 5 or so hairs each time. At least that i see in my hands. I'm hoping to keep it to a minimum. What's so interesting is that you can somewhat tell what your hair will look li

Four month

Since I had HT with 1325 grafts with Dr. Ron Shapiro last Aug 2010, it's been 4 monthes now. Here I attach update photo of my hairline. It is pleasant experience to see my hairs actually growing when I see mirror. Temple parts look good and though the frontal top has somehow low density for now, I believe it will get denser as time goes on. I heared that the new hair line formation goes on until around 8th month so I still have pretty much a way to go.

Day 184 - six months on

A quick update with new photos at the half-year point. I continue to make slow progress. I'm not as far advanced as I'd like to be, but some of my worries have been calmed by helpful comments from FutureHTDoc, who pointed out that only 30% maturation is usual at about five months. There are enough examples of other HT patients who have had strong maturation after six months to keep me reasonably optimistic. I've moved house, so the lighting in the photos means the appearance of my hair may l

1 month out!

I am now 1 month out from my FUT done at Bosley San Francisco. Shock loss has definitely set in. I am much balder than before the procedure. I continue to take my generic finasteride for maintenence and protect my scalp from sunlight. I do feel much better, as I no longer have much pain. Just some numbness and tingling from both my donor and recipient sites. I must admit though that the shock loss has been terrifying. I received 1581 grafts to my crown, and the grafts were widely placed. So I ha

FUT at Bosley San Francisco

Had my first FUT at Bosley in San Francisco 3 weeks ago. The procedure seemed to go pretty well. I must confess that I had not at all done a lot of research on hair transplantion. My idea was that it was pretty easy and that going to Bosley was logical since they perform so many hair transplants and have all of the techs, docs, and financing in place for the procedure. I am a bit disappointed that Dr. Aragone did not go over shock loss as well as he should have. I have had a bit of shock loss my

Less Than a Week to the big day

Just uploaded quite a few pictures and a video to show my thinning and loss of hair so far. It's painful to see this happen at the age of 30 but I guess it's all part of life. At least we can help to stop it right? I've got 4 days till my surgery. I'm stoked yet a little edgy...You guys have any routines to take your mind of the slow time getting to the surgery?   Best

2 weeks to Surgery

Okay,   So I'm still extremely excited that I'm doing this. But, I guess you can say the nerves are starting to increase. it's the unknown YET the known of what is going to be done. I've done all the research on my DR..and I'm really comfortable with him. Just going into this and not being able to see how it's going to look or the results for 6 months to a year SUX!!! I know patience is a virtue but patience BLOWS! That's it for now!

Day 154 - five months on

Another month passes on the roller coaster of emotions that is my post-HT recovery. First, my positive thoughts. Broadly, I think I've made steady if unspectacular progress since early September, particularly on the right temple. My hair looks more normal from the front now, though it is still thin. And I can see a few shorter hairs that will thicken things up further when they get longer. But I've had plenty of negative thoughts too. I was hoping to be further ahead at the five month mark,

Ways to improve success chances post surgery

I am now 3 month post surgery from a reputable doctor. I had a small session of about 500 grafts. There are no results yet after 3 months and naturally I am a bit concerned at this point. What I want to know is are there any ways to improve your chances of success after the surgery. I try to avoid the heat although it is hot were I am now. Please advise.   Thanks

Hair Loss

First of all congrats for hosting a very nice forum. My view on hair treatment to all will be don't get carried away by emotion and don't believe on any doctor or clinic without proof. There are many clinic in the market that boost of solving hail problem with many fancy names to their treatments. The list is infinite, but the one I got fooled by is called Dr.Paul's Multi speciality clinic,Bhubaneswar. And the fancy name they give for their treatment is called "MESO". Dr.Paul's is not at all a clini

Day 122 - four months on

There has been more progress in the past month. By this point, I was hoping my hair would look pretty much as it did pre-op. It doesn't yet. But I feel confident enough going out without a cap and knowing friends won't do a double take when they see me. There have been quite a lot of new hairs come through in the past few weeks. A small minority are thick and wiry, so these are certainly transplants. The rest are very fine. I can't decide yet if these are transplanted hairs coming through, or

Booked with Farjo - Nov 5 2010

Well I've been and gone and done it, had a consultancy with B Farjo and Mick in July. 3500 graphs were recommended, 500 to put some coverage in the crown, the rest for the front third and to recreate a haitline. I've booked a few weeks off work, this is not needed apparently, but I've got some personal stuff that has needed attending to for a while, so I thought it would be a good idea to have a post op week to rest then a couple of weeks to "do stuff" It'll be dark and I'll be able to wear a

It been 12 weeks

I want anyone no everyone that is thinking about hair restoration to stop thinking and start doing. What ever you do don't be like me and continue to put it off because were not getting any younger. I had my FUE procedure 3 months ago and I could not be happier. I was one of the people that would watch TV and see the commercials and I would think that could never work. Boy was I wrong because after just 3 months I can see a real difference. It's a must thats the FUE method of hair restoration be

Done my HT from Dr Mahadevia

Hello All, I started loosing my hairs from the age of 17th. Right now I am 26 and lost my front aswell crown area hairs. My first HT was done by Dr. Ashok Reddy (Strip method) ( hyderabad). He charged me quite less but result was very poor. I would 't advice any one going to that doctor. My second HT is done 6 days back by Dr. Mahadevia. (FUE transplant - 2400 Graphts). I have to admit that doctor was full time with me during the operation (Extraction + Plantation). My Overall experien

2 great films to watch after returning home from an out-of-state HT procedure

It's been a little under two weeks since I returned from my FUE procedure [out-of-state] and during this time I watched two great movies involving travelling by plane. I recommend anyone returning home after their HT check these flicks out: Planes, Trains & Automobiles Up in the Air These movies are completely unrelated to hair transplant surgery but they do involve the trials and tribulations of travelling which is enjoyable to watch after safely returning home from your trip.

HT Tomorrow, getting Nervous - Post OP Questions

Kinda nervous about tomorrow. So many questions only now come to mind... Doc says I will be conscious enough afterwards to get into a taxi back to my hotel without help. Was this the case with other people? Could you just walk around, or did u fumble around the hotel like a drunk on vicadin to get back to your room? Day 1 - Was it easy to sleep? Could u do anything else? Go to a restaurant? Day 2 - Was it painful? Also, did u feel comfortable going out (to eat at a restaurant) or meeting

Has anyone had their HT in Turkey?

Has anyone had their HT in Turkey? Just had mine done on the 13th at a clinic in Istanbul called Kulis Estetik, 2000 grafts FUE. They worked (two nurses) for 6 hours. I am satisfied so far but is too early to tell. According to some people on a Romanian forum they do a decent job. I’ll post pictures as soon as I receive them from the doctor.
