  1. Hey @dotdashdashdash and @deeznuts! My first surgery was done by Dr. Torgerson 1.5 years ago now. I don't recommend him at all but rather suggest people look for more serious clinics internationally, or if staying in Canada and okay with higher price, look at Dr. Rahal or Hasson and Wong.

I've made a deposit with Eugenix for late November. I'll be starting a new thread for that.  Here's my latest thread with updated pics:

  2. So by the looks of it, you'll be staying in India for 9 days? You mentioned in your earlier post you're going up a day or two earlier for the bloodwork. That's a long trip haha!

But it is a good point about the airport risks. Right now I'm thinking of staying at least 1 extra day, maybe a second one to give the grafts time to properly anchor. I've had a HT before so I'm comfortable doing my own head wash.

  3. Awesome to hear guys. I just booked Eugenix for end of November, two day surgery. I am already feeling the butterflies haha.

I have no idea how medical visas work as I've never had to get one, so it's time to start reading. If anyone else has thoughts on the questions I posed in the initial post let me know. I'm specifically curious about staying the extra day or if most folks find it's better to just bail and start the long trek home.

  4. Hi folks,

I'm close to making my booking and would love to ask some travel-related questions to any Canadians here who went with Eugenix for a transplant. All cards on the table, this will be my first time flying for a surgery and I'm a touch nervous about a few things including; carrying lots of money on my person, arranging the timing of flights + surgery, and getting the Covid paperwork sorted out and any visa paperwork.

Would love to chat with someone who flew from Canada for a surgery. Also wondering if people recommend staying an extra day to relax? As in fly down, have surgery, then have another full day to rest before leaving the following morning? Thanks.

  5. Thank you for your words! That's fantastic to hear about your March 2022 surgery. I'm looking at November of this year - just getting everything organized now.

You're bang on about temple points being more directly visible - I think that's what concerns me so much about getting them done. If they come out even a little pluggy or misdirected it's much more noticeable than on your head. My hair is curly anyway so if my hairline gets more "frazzled" it doesn't change much. On the temples though? Different story.

If I do it, I'll probably go for something conservative like this, and even that gets me a little worried. I'll try and get Dr. Arika's thoughts on it.

  6. Hi HRN,

As my second HT approaches (shortlist Eugenix or Demirsoy) I have struggled for a while with deciding if I should get my temple points done. My hesitations stem mostly from the following questions:

    1. Will they genuinely help frame my face?

    2. Will they look natural?

I've noticed in older photos that my temples were never really that apparent to begin with. However I do notice that they were "present", if that makes sense. Part of me wonders that as I further restore my hairline, it might be valuable to put a few grafts in there to help frame my face. Which leads me to question 2.

Out of all the results I've seen, temple points are easily the most "volatile" in that they can either blend in quite naturally, or stick out and look wiry. I've seen this result from top rated clinics across the board - it happens everywhere. It's such a tricky part of the head that Eugenix's Dr. Pradeep Seethi dedicated an entire video to it (very informative by the way). For some examples of what I'm talking about see below.

Patient with strong hair characteristics, temples touched up

    Larger temple restorationExample.thumb.png.d4a6f1cfab342fcec6a50a001e3866d6.png

Now obviously these situations are not a 1:1 and of course, hair characteristics and physiology comes into play. But if you spend time researching you'll see it is generally a truism that, with the exception of a few world class surgeons, temple points can be a mixed bag in the final result.

So it does make one wonder - is it worth getting my temples done? Any thoughts from forum members on temple points?

  7. @LaserCaps Thanks for the kind advice! Right now there are no doctors in the US that interest me and fit my budget.

@Sijac09 I appreciate it! If I end up going with Dermirsoy I may reach out at a later date. Like I said in your thread, great work on your transplant.

@Egy Thanks. Yes HLC is definitely fantastic, but slightly out of my max budget at 2.7 euro a graft.

@SLA & @Zoomster Thank you. Yes I'm fairly confident Eugenix could do the whole thing in one procedure, although I'm not sure Dr. Arika would go for it because it would be pretty big (4000-5000 grafts I think?) and I'm not sure they like doing those. Zoomster did you have any issues originally scheduling your rather large session?

@DrTBarghouthi Thank you for stopping by. Yes I'm on fin for the past 4 years, hair loss is stable.

  8. Hi HRN friends. The time has come to decide where to go for my second HT.

I'm a Canadian and our international travel laws are still quite strict, so I'm looking at a date in November.

    More pics: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/r61n4tou8gymwm1/AADTb5Ry6JjwmcOHqqDkMT7Ca?dl=0

29 years old, been on fin for 4 years. Hair loss has stabilized.

The wet pics really illustrate how thin it is in the midscalp and crown. On top of that my hair is quite fine. It'll be a decent sized job; almost definitely a third op will be required for the crown. I think 3500 is a good goal.

    Clinic shortlist

    Demirsoy

I've been researching for a couple years and Demirsoy has repeatedly blown me away with his affordable and consistent results. I've followed tons of testimonials here and on other forums, and have seen minimal bad results (every clinic has them so it's expected). That coupled with the heavy doctor-involvement and patient focus throughout the day puts me in a very comfortable position considering him. Lastly, he seems proficient at getting "general head coverage" and tackling multiple areas at once, something I'm looking to get done with a reinforcement of the hairline, filling of midscalp and sprinkling in crown.

On the less good side, I've noticed he doesn't seem to go that dense, and his hairlines aren't always as "soft" (sometimes they are, but not always) as some of the upper-scale artist doctors out there. That said, I would be absolutely thrilled if I got a result like @GLHF, @JST07, @Sijac09, @Mikeycrfc, and the many more on this forum and others.

    Eugenix

We all know about Eugenix - they kind of exploded on this forum over the past couple years. I felt that @Zoomster and @paddyirishman really put them on the map, then @Fluffhead blew us all away with the natural artistry he achieved and for an affordable price. Eugenix just gives the sense that they really know what they're doing and care a lot about their patients. This was further concreted to me when @Looking for HT posted his saga and the clinic kept their customer service top-notch, instead of blaming or dismissing like I have seen other clinics do. Lastly, @Abhinay Singh posts results for Eugenix constantly - they are one of the most actively involved clinics I have ever seen.

I'm confident Eugenix could handle my case well, and likely provide coverage over my entire head. My main worry for them right now is the Coronavirus situation, although I'm hopeful by November things will be much better.

    Pekiner

Admittedly I know a lot less about Pekiner than the other clinics I've mentioned. At 2.5 euro a graft he is also at the max of my budget - but to reference my favorite quote by @Melvin- Moderator - "You're getting a hair transplant, not buying a dishwasher". The work Pekiner has done is nothing short of amazing; his density is off the charts (check out @Tug's post op), he can get wide head coverage like he did for @qnt2019 and he is experienced with a variety of transplant work (beard, repair work, etc). That said, I wish there were more Pekiner results on this forum to help me make an informed decision. More research is required.

For cons, the infamous 'chance of being cancelled' on the day of is scary, I'll admit. Also, given my large area to cover I'm not sure if Pekiner's dense approach would fit best for me. Although I'm pretty confident he would reinforce my hairline/midscalp area spectacularly, I'm really hoping to get at least something in the crown on this op.

Thank you all for reading, please let me know if you have any kind words of advice. I'll be sending out consultations to all doctors in the next couple weeks. I'm also open to hearing about other doctors that might work for my hair characteristics, etc. Have a great Wednesday.

  9. Wow, awesome job! Agree with the above comment - easily a 9/10! I'm so stoked on your behalf.

Funny enough, Demirsoy and Eugenix are also my top choices right now @Berba11. Both do such incredible work. I'm blown away by how affordable Demirsoy is while still putting out pretty consistent quality.

@GLHF could you shoot me the clinic contact for Demirsoy? I filled out the online consultation form but it seems a bit broken and I haven't heard back from anybody.
