  1. It is so important for young people to understand that transplant requires a lot of patience and has a particular candidacy. I have too, witnessed massacres in young people who have been blindly transplanted. To have a bad transplant at an age where one is just stepping into young adulthood is horrifying. Plus usually they don't even require it. Unrealistic hairline choices are the worst. It is so difficult to reason with young adults and adolescents.
  2. In your case, it will recover the density and hair calibre. You have just started to experience androgenetic alopecia. This medication will be a blessing.
  3. Because he has majority of the scalp and beard hair. The hair from the body were used discreetly and lesser in amount. Thats the whole issue. The planning of the density anf the strategic positioning of the grafts facilitate for very little difference even when the body hair are stagnant.
  4. Well we can't generalise it for everyone. The growth rate of body, scalp and beard hair are different in each individual.
  5. Amazing. I cannot put in words how much I value Finasteride. It has helped me tremendously too. I am so happy with your progress.
  6. The pills are obviously more effective than the lotion. But the topucal form has also got good reviews from amny doctors and patients. You can start using it and evaluate its effects on your hair. I am sure it will be helpful.
  7. You remind me of Gandalf and Dumbledore sans the beard.
  8. With or without the medication, baldness never stops fully. The speed of pregression gradually tapers off with age. Medication can prolong baldness. It doesn't completely stop it. Androgenetic alopecia has to be effectively managed with proper medications.
  9. One weeks time is more than sufficient to start having a normal headwadh regulalrly. It is comepletely safe after that.
  10. You should have taken Finasteride from earlier on. It would've prevented any further progression of baldness. You can start using topical finasteride if you are not okay using the pill.
  11. The scabs of the wounds will wash off after a couple of initial washes. The redness might remain for a couple of weeks. The collective absence of hair will remain which can be strategically camouflaged with proper styling.
  12. An equal or even more number of grafts can be extraced through FUE wherein even the beard and body hair can be used in the process. There is transection during FUT too. Plus it also has permanent shock loss around the donor area.
  13. The donor will look thin for a month or two until the other hair on the donor grow longer and cover the area. There is nothing you can do about it. When you go for a transplant, you have to accept the casualties that come along with it. There has to be time given for the normalization of the scalp. The hair will take time to grow. And the donor thinning will be visible especially in the initial months. Even later on if you keep a stubble length hair on your donor, the collective thinning will be apparent.
  14. See. Thats exactly the point we all need to understand. The donor area of each person is different. To get the exact number of grafts that can be extracted from a particular donor or even to give an estimation, the index donor has to be evaluated. Density, hair calibre varies from person to person.
  15. Lets not get ahead of ourselves here. Pleade wait for 12 months completion to judge the full results. It is most discouraging to continuously reinforce a second procedure without allowing the full results of his first procedure to show.
  16. People who judge you or choose their partners based on the aesthetics or material wealth of individuals are the saddest and most miserable. It is rather best to be bald, blind, deaf, mute, paralized etc rather than have a life partner who only looks at your beauty and not the actual person inside. This should be the last reason why people should even consider body modifications even in the worst circumstance. Cosmetic surgeries should only be for personal happiness.
  17. Having a failed hair transplantation procedure is the worst. At least the donor is safe even if you go naturally bald even to grade VII with retrograde thinning. With failed hair transplants, the graft loss is permanent and can never be got back. The fact that the donor area is a finite resource is the biggest drawback.
  18. 1. A graft is a follicular unit comprising of 1 to 6 follicles (hair strands). 2. Coverage depends on the artistic creation of density, intelligent placement of the grafts depending on their calibre and follicle count, head size and proper planning. Extracting more grafts has nothing to do with a good coverage. Hair transplant is creating an illusion, not getting the actual count of hair.
  19. Its subjective from person to person. The shedding phenomenon cannot be generalised for everyone. They have all timelines of growth. It will grow in it's own course. It could be early or late. Approximately 12 to 14 months will show you the optimim density achievable.
