  1. don't know why you need to be wearing a hat with that fantastic hairline! you should be showing it off as far as I'm concerned.... wish I had it! amazing 4 month result, will only be getting better
  2. do you have and pre HT and current condition pics to post?
  3. I was never a smoker, but I enjoyed a few drinks a week and on the weekend. That was pretty hard for me to stop at least a month before surgery. I found that after a few months of not touching an alcoholic beverage, I felt better, slept better, and lost quite a bit of weight. If it were not for alcohol restriction prior my HT procedure, I highly doubt I would have curtailed by use of alcohol. Another good side effect of the HT procedure!
  4. Matt - I've heard some extraordinary things about your SMP skills. You seem to be the "go to" guy in the industry. Thanks for being active and participating in this forum!
  5. that's the all star team for sure -- I would not hesitate to have a procedure with any of those surgeons ..
  6. just don't worry so much about what others will be seeing or thinking of the slight redness on your scalp after your procedure - the fact of the matter is they might or might not notice it, and quite frankly, they won't care!! people have their own busy lives and problems to worry about, the last thing they'll be focusing on is the fact that your scalp is inflamed ... prepare yourself for the fact that some people's eyes will quickly glance up at your head and might have a fleeting thought about it, but that's it ... just don't worry so much about what others think... do what you gotta do
  7. congrats and best of luck, it does seem that when you pull the trigger to undergo a HT, other things in your life sort of fall into place, I too decided to eat healthier, exercise, etc. It is for some of us a procedure that sets us back on the path we always should have been on .. I like to say! Best wishes.
  8. do you have any current pics of how you buzz your head?
  9. wow! very nice improvement and result with Dr. Arocha's recent surgery .. congrats.
  10. very nice! conservative and aesthetically pleasing hairline
  11. by the immediate post op pic, I thought the hairline may have been too low, but the way its growing really suits your facial features and looks perfect! I wish you continued growth & success.
  12. awesome looking hairline, will be beautiful when it grows naturally, best wishes!
  13. very nice, but don't know what you're before was like to compare. I'm sure you're happy you finally arrived at 4 months though! that's when the significant growth is supposed to occur, and your hairline looks nice and natural, continued success!
  14. Vanseb, I beg to differ with you about the medications. With someone your age, Propeicia/Finesteride/Proscar along with Minoxidil is proven to regrow hair. It will stimulate dormant follicles and streghten follicles that are starting their miniaturization process. Yes, they will also help maintain your current hair, but they do have an additional regrowth benefit for the majority of men who use them properly. So I would not summarily discard that option especially at your age. Check youtube for several time lapse videos of people on the meds - you will see some positive improvement. As to your question regarding FUE pricing, each doctor/clinic charges different prices. Overseas seems to have the cheaper pricing. There aren't that many doctors in North America that do FUE, at least with consistent positive results. And as you can see, H&W only recently got in the game, probably because they've lost tons of perspective clients to other doctors doing that method. Generally, FUE could cost as much as double FUT surgery, because it is so time consuming as opposed to strip surgery. So you could be looking at $8 to $10 per graft as opposed to $4 per graft with FUT. But you'd have to check exact pricing with the doctor/clinic you're interested in having your surgery with. Another consideration is that some clinics can not do a 4,500 graft FUE procedure all in one sitting. It may need to be done over the span of 2 days or over 2 separate surgeries. And the last thing I would leave with you is that you need to remember that your hair loss is a continuous & progressive condition. So even if you have a hair transplant tomorrow, you will continue to loose your native hair and will always be chasing to play "catch up" and you only have a "limited" donor supply - it is not endless. So be careful about where you play your hairline. Aim for conservative because as you continue to loose hair behind that transplanted hair, it will look un-natural if you don't have the donor supply to fill in behind it or through your crown. I just caution you to do all your homework and take all steps necessary to be fully informed before you take the plunge with a HT procedure because you are unsatisfied with your current condition. Take care and feel free to ask anything else you may be thinking about.
  15. I'm 45 yrs old male and just underwent an FUE procedure with Dr. Rahal in Ottawa. I had a much more severe case of hair loss than you and only opted to address the hair line and my mid scalp, and did not even touch the crown. H&W is one of the best. I live in the USA (NJ) and they were on the top of my list except they did not do FUE at the time. They did just purchase the ARTAS system which I just read here on the forums as well and that probably has absolutely no effect on your situation if you're doing FUT. My advice to you as an older guy - I would give the medication and use of Rogaine or minoxidil some time before you take the plunge with surgery. Wait a year and see how you respond to the meds, minoxidil and some good shampoos out there like Regenepure DR or Revivogen. You seem like you have a decent hairline and are loosing mostly in your crown. Also, really think about whether you want to have a linear scar on the bad of your head for the rest of your life. Have you considered FUE surgery, although more expensive per graft, you will be able to cut your hair short and not have the noticeable scar that will inevitably be there from FUT surgery. Both methods have their pros and cons, but it is highly based on personal preference and your particular situation. Just some things to consider before you take the plunge with surgery because it is permanent. The good news is you've chosen one of the best, if not the best in the HT industry.
  16. I was told Dr. Rahal's office dropped using the ARTAS robotic FUE system because their manual extraction method apparently yielded better results than the ARTAS. Just thought I'd share.
  17. very nice work, you must be happy with the results ..
  18. definitely making progress and looking good! wishing you continued growth
  19. As a supplement, Saw Palmetto is supposedly helpful as a DHT blocker.
  20. I had approx. 2500 grafts via FUE too with Dr. Rahal in Canada. He didnt touch the back or crown, more of a repair of my hairline from an earlier FUT and add some density mid scalp. I'm doing Rogaine foam twice a day, using Regenepure DR shampoo, and I'm taking Saw Palmetto, and a hair strenghtening/DHT blocker type of supplement. Wasn't looking to achieve a full head of hair back with this procedure, this hoping for an improvement over what I had. Anyway, thanks.
