  1. I didn't have an FUE procedure with Dr. Maral but can still answer a few of your questions. Depending on the overall size of your procedure and how well or fast you heal, you can literally go back to work within a week or 2. Of course, you will still have a shaved/bald head. Swelling is an issue that everyone reacts to differently as well. You may have mild to severe swelling after the procedure. Usually there are medications given to you by the doctor to take for a few days after the procedure and you are asked to sleep in a reclined position in a 45 degree angle in order to minimize swelling in your face. Personally, I had minimal forehead swelling that lasted 2-3 days after the procedure. As far as creams or supplements. An antibiotic cream or lotion is supposed to be applied on the donor area in the back and sides of the head 2 times a day for the first few weeks. Vitamin E, C, D and Super B Complex are also supposed to be beneficial in the healing process. I wish you the best of luck with your upcoming procedure.

so clean and really nice hairline design, best wishes healing and growing, you should have a wonderful result
  3. only criticism I would have was pointed out by 1978matt - over-emphasis on the hairline not making it "soft" or feathered enough, but otherwise a wonderful result.
  4. congratulations, looks absolutely natural, dense and beautiful! continued success
  5. looking great so far and much more progress to go! best of luck can I ask what hair supplement (brand name?) you are taking where you posted a photo of the ingredients? seems to have all the right stuff in one bottle!
  6. the day is almost here, been anxious and a bit excited about it too, traveling to Ottawa to have my procedure with Dr. Rahal, took a few weeks off work in order to finally address my hair loss issue and correct a small procedure I had in the early 90''s which has left a "pluggy" look at my hairline, I did not want to go the FUT/strip route even though I already have a small scar on the back of my head, Dr. Rahal's FUE results apparently yield the same success as his FUT procedures, I'll leave it to his and his team's experience, I'll post some post op pics as soon as I can and I think this entire community and forum for all the information, education and de-mystification around the HT procedure, its made making decisions from the choosing the surgeon to the type of procedure to what to expect so much easier, we all need to help one another and this is the best forum for that! thanks again everyone -
  7. Joe, when I first started this journey, you were the first person I received an email from H&W and you mentioned that my case reminded you of your own situation! Its been several years later, and I'm about 1 month out from my corrective surgery with Dr. Rahal in September. I thank you for all you have done in the past and will continue to do in the future. Maybe I'll get to meet you in Ottawa next month? My heartfelt best wishes on your next chapter.
  8. you're still young and I think you got a nice result from your procedure 1.5 years ago, I would say wait a little longer to see how your MPB progresses and then decide on how to tackle it, again I say that only because you're still very young, you don't know how your hair loss will progress in your 30's or 40's, you'll have plenty of time to decide since you've got a nice looking head of hair now
  9. I'm so glad to see reputable doctors and patient advocates on this forum advising young patients in their 20's to wait a few years to see if their hair loss stabilizes before considering a HT procedure. If someone had done that for me in the early 90's when I was in my 20's, I would never have had a HT that only requires further surgery today... This is a testament to how far the industry and patient knowledge has come. Hang in there revanfein, I know its difficult to see and accept hair loss at your age, but you'll be better off for it.
  10. best wishes on your healing and hope you get the final result you're looking for!
  11. up close hairline pic looks amazingly natural, beautiful work, congrats and best wishes
  12. as a 45 year old male who's got advanced hair loss in the frontal zone and crown, my priority is simply getting a natural, conservative hairline that squares the face, i'm least concerned about my crown at this stage and will use the limited donor area that I have to address the hairline and midscalp .. hopefully Dr. Rahal will agree with me in Sept!
  13. is there a specific hair supplement or vitamin brand that has b complex, biotin and zinc combination? also what can one do specifically to get their scalp healthier?? more thorough cleanings? massages? thanks.

I have a similar scar from my first and only HT surgery when I was in my 20's which I regret to this day ... Today, I'm also looking for repair options for the pluggy graft work to my hairline from the mid 90's. So I totally relate to your situation and story. I'm not going to be shaving my head as far as you have, but I'd like to wear my hair short which I cannot right now. I have an FUE procedure with Dr Rahal scheduled in Sept of this year which I hope can address my repair issues as you have with yours. Thanks for sharing ..
  15. Definitely nice work, as this example shows, its always that frontal zone that really makes the difference. Of course coverage and density is nice behind that, but the hairline and frontal zone are what make HT surgery artistry ..
  16. just wondering, if you were so advanced before the Feller procedure, and it appears from your pre-op pics that your hairline looks absolutely fine, why go with another physician? what was your dissatisfaction with Feller? the pre-op Dorin pics look like you are absolutely perfect?????
  17. sounds odd, but I would take that as a sign that I don't or shouldn't do a HT procedure at this time ... hold off until you actually need 3k or more grafts before ever doing anything surgically or cosmetically that will affect the rest of your life ..
  18. a HT procedure from the hands of a skilled surgeon only gives one the illusory appearance of density - you are taking existing hairs from your donor area and merely shifting them to balding areas for an optimal appearance - your net gain is zero, therefore the manner in which you use your limited donor supply is crucial
  19. the work looks very refined, glad to hear you had so much confidence even going in with your doctor, sometimes that's half the hurdle to get over, if you feel you are in the hands of a trusted and reputable surgeon, it relieves any doubts in going through this experience, best wishes on your continued healing and end result, it will be awesome!
  20. I"m a future Rahal patient so great to see such an awesome result! congrats
