  1. Month 1 progress looks good, looks like you had some grafts up front that didnt shed and continued to grow! I'm about at the same stage, 1 month 1 week post op. Are you taking any supplements or using any particular shampoo to assist or expedite growth?
  2. looks nice & clean, congrats on your procedure, and best of luck with healing!
  3. hey i don't blame you follow your doc's instructions, i'm following mine!
  4. Dr. Rahal in Ottawa, Canada. Yes you can start using your regular shampoo. I'm using Regenepure DR, its supposed to promote hair growth. It was recommended by the clinic too. Google it, I bought a bottle on Amazon.
  5. I only hear the greatest things about Dr. Konior and his entire team from his patients on this forum .. that's the best endorsement you can have , besides the awesome results which speak for themselves.
  6. looks good buddy, i'm about at the same stage as you, 1 month post op, except maybe only 50% of grafts have shed (is that good/bad thing), also on Rogaine foam supposedly to make the new grafts come in faster and started using normal shampoo.. best of luck, lets hope month 2 flies by, i'm tired of wearing caps!
  7. limited donor to work with so framing the face is key, looks much younger & nice improvement, good result
  8. I like Dr. Feller's work but you also have Rahal a short hour flight from NY/NJ in Ottawa which you should consider.
  9. Yes I know, that's the usual protocol, but if you have a job interview and you want to avoid the redness, discontinue it until after your interview.
  10. don't apply any rogaine or minoxidil and use an aloe gel or spray to help alleviate the redness
  11. thanks for sharing your story, such an amazing journey and experience you've gone through ... I hope this procedure really changes things for you, best of luck and please post photo updates!
  12. WOW, your 6 and 12 month photos are like night and day!! I hope you can achieve at least what you had at 6 months back, the density and blend with your native hair looked meticulous. Your post got me a little worried since I just had a procedure with Rahal less than a month ago! I too think he and his entire team are very professional. I had a good experience overall with the clinic, but also nervous about the final outcome, obviously. Anyway, glad to hear you had such an extensive conversation with Dr. Rahal and hopefully get you back on track to improve your result. I started Rogaine about 2 weeks post op as per the clinic's post op care. Your case certainly teaches me not to stop! Thanks and keep us updated on your progress.
  13. best of luck with your procedure, you will be very surprised to see how easy and stress-free the good clinics and doctors make this experience, as I'm sure SMG will, post some pre and post op pics whenever you can
  14. As dramatic as this case is, I personally do not believe anyone in their (early) 20's should be taking such an aggressive HT surgery approach given they face decades of continuing and progressive hair loss, without knowing exactly what type of hair loss pattern is in store for them. That being said, today there is much better information on the efficacy of meds, supplements, rogaine, shampoos, etc. that was not available when I was 20 something and had my first procedure. The results are impressive, but given my own personal experience, I would caution anyone so young to take the permanent plunge into HT surgery before having somewhat of a settled or predictive hair loss pattern.
  15. hey congrats, I recognize the room and chair you're sitting in, was there less than 3 short weeks ago for my procedure with Rahal! I too had a similar experience. Did Mike or Kelly do your cleaning?
  16. wonderful to read your story and very happy for you! it looks great and you should be proud after all you've been through to finally have some success. best wishes
  17. I discovered acupuncture helps me de-stress too! try a session, I think you'll enjoy it and go back as a form of therapy .. its very relaxing and therapeutic
  18. very nice progress so far, continued success!
  19. I took 2 weeks vacation from the time I was having my procedure, plus I asked my boss if I could do a few weeks "work from home"! I am very lucky to have such a flexible and great organization to work for which allowed me to do that without having to worry about how I'd look going back to work immediately after surgery.
  20. Dr. Feller will have his own post op procedures to follow, but normally he should provide you with several medications including some pain killers after the procedure, anti-swelling medication, and antibiotics. I assume you are having an FUT procedure. There will be inevitably be some treatment of the scar with some sort of anti-biotic cream. Saline spray for your grafts, etc. These things will all be or should be provided to you by the doctor's office. You may want to stock your hotel room with a few snacks for breakfast and lunch for the next several couple of days because you won't want to get out. Get plenty of water & natural juices. Vitamins B complex, C, and E are all good for the healing process. You won't really need a neck pillow. Just a rolled up towel under your neck will do just fine. Sleep in a reclined position for the first couple of days to help the swelling. You'll be fine and best of luck.
