  1. Did you ever consider micro pigmentation into the scars? Im always concerned about using donor follicles to go back into the donor area in younger patients who may need more transplants for thinning/balding areas in the future. Plus if you were not pleased with the results you could always have grafts placed into the scars. FUE into the temporal areas does work well. I know Dr. Lorenzo and he does excellent work and have also heard good things about the other Dr you mentioned. Good luck!
  2. I thought that if the moderators had a concern with a post they would private message the person making the post and give them the opportunity to make the proper changes. All forums do have have some rules and regulations.
  3. Keep in mind he is only 10 months post-op. Hopefully things with thicken up some more. You also need to compare to before photos where he had nothing in the frontal area at all. Often when starting an area from scratch it takes two passes of grafting to acquire desired density.
  4. This 31 year old male patient had 1750 FUT grafts placed in the hairline and frontal areas. The photos show the patient before, immediate post-op, and 10 months post-op. The patient is very pleased with the results. 1750 ARTAS grafts before, imm post, and 10 months post-op.pdf
  5. Another good option would be to go to a reputable hair restoration surgeon. I have removed many of these cysts from patients scalps and the incision needed is very small and should not cause balding.
  6. I tell my patients that after all the scabbing from the grafts have gone away (day 7-8 ) it is safe to wear wool/ knot/ ski caps.
  7. I generally recommend 3 months post-op before returning to medicated shampoos.
  8. I have been recommending the Hairmax hair fibers because they are plant based/ organic and therefore less y to cause any infection or skin reaction.
  9. I agree that good diet leads to better overall health and faster recovery from surgery. All the supplements mentioned above are potentially beneficial and you might want to add some Zinc and Selenium.
  10. I do not think using this type of devise would cause any harm but not really sure it could provide any information that would change the outcome.
  11. It can take several months for a scar to form and therefore it is important for a patient to minimize unnecessary tension/stress in that area for a few months. I do think that exercising carefully can be resumed in 2-3 weeks post-op.
  12. This 43 year old male had 1884 FUT grafts placed in the hairline and frontal areas. The photos show the patient before and 2 years post-op. The patient is very pleased with the results of his procedure.
  13. Definitely avoid chin to chest motion (Hyperflexion of neck) for 2-3 months post-op to avoid stretching of scar.
  14. I will allow my patients to apply Toppik two weeks after the procedure. However, I also insist that they wash it out before going to bed.
  15. I instruct my patients to put some in palm of hand and then use both hands/fingers to massage into scalp at night before bed.
  16. Not sure if any commercial pharmacies carry that. Here is Florida you would need to go to a compounding pharmacy to get it, but a Rx from doctor is necessary.
  17. That is still a controversial topic. Some docs feel it can have a negative effect on results while other think it will not play a roll or are not sure. I do think that testosterone supplementation can increase conversion of testosterone to DHT and may accelerate the hair loss process in those who have the gene fore male pattern baldness.
  18. Still waiting for hair multiplication. You would think if they can clone a sheep they would be able to replicate some hair follicles. Lol
  19. I suggest at age 28 if you are considering having work done in the hair line you stay conservative. You possible still have many years remaining of further hair loss and want to save as much donor hair for later if necessary. (Hopefully not but must always consider worst case scenario)
  20. This 33 year old male had 1615 FUT grafts place in the hairline, frontal, and mid scalp areas. The photos show the patient before, immediate post-op, and 1 year post-op. The patient is very pleased with the results. jm 1615 FUT grafts before imm post and 1 year post.pdf
  21. I think temporary SMP is not a bad idea. In case you do not like look it it will go away with time. There are some issues with SMP and changes in hair color with aging. So make sure you do your due diligence before doing permanent SMP.
  22. Placing FUE grafts into scar tissue is much less predictable than grafting into virgin scalp tissue. I have had some remarkable cases and also some that did not take as well. A lot depends on the quality of the patients hair. Thinner/finer hairs generally have a lower survival rate compared to medium and coarse hair types.
  23. Patients with lighter and finer hiar often experience this effect. Try to have patience and wait for the final results before making and decisions. Sometimes a small additional procedure is requested to add density.
  24. Unfortunetely this does happen occasionally. I many of these cases the hairs do become softer and more manageable over time.
