Looking for advice
Dr. Glenn Charles replied to BigBen's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Be careful with surgery in Turkey. There are a few reputable clinics there but there are many unlisenced/ under ground clinics that are offering hair transplants at a very cheap price . Remember every person only has a limited amount of donor hair available for hair transplantation, so most cannot afford to waste any. -
Dr Konior price. Should I do it?
Dr. Glenn Charles replied to Cap88's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Both doctors you mentioned do very high quality work. So whoever you decide to go with will be a good decision. Just have realistic expectations, Live healthy and be patient. -

Dr. Glenn Charles replied to Rroy1573's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Really to early to expect much progress. Be patient and hopefully you will get continued improvement over next 8 months like most patients do between months 4-12 post-op. -
Should Physicians Charge For Consults?
Dr. Glenn Charles replied to Speegs's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
I agree that every doctor has the prerogative to charge a consultation fee and also agree if they do that the fee should be deducted if the patient ends ups having the procedure performed there. Unfortunately, I think that many doctors use this to make it seem that they are more talented and desired than their competitors/ colleagues. Some patients fall for this and others see right through the smoke and mirrors. I have also noticed that most clinics that charge for consultation are more expensive for the procedure. Again trying to send message that the work done there is of higher quality than other clinics. We all know this is not always the case. My suggestion is do your due diligence before deciding on which doctor/clinic will be performing your hair transplant procedure. -
This 31 year old male had 1370 FUE ARTAS grafts placed in his hairline and corner areas. You can see in the donor photos that we shaved strips in the donor area to do the work and then concealed the strips with his remaining hair after the procedure. There was no visible sign of a procedure in the donor area when the patient left the office. One year later, the patient is very pleased with the results of the procedure.

Playing soccer after 3000 FUT
Dr. Glenn Charles replied to surferhair's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
I agree you can play now as long as you are not doing the head butting thing. I have had some professional soccer players as patients and have seen what I feel is an increased amount of scar tissue on the top of the scalp . This might be from the trauma of repeated heading of the ball over all those years. -
Hair Restoration Simulation
Dr. Glenn Charles replied to TomJob's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
I was referring to the ARTAS hair studio. I also used one in the past called Mirror but did not really like it so I got rid of it. The hair studio is much better and more realistic but I still use it in a very conservative manner. -
Hair Restoration Simulation
Dr. Glenn Charles replied to TomJob's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
There isn software that can simulate a hair transplant procedure. You can adjust the density be changing the number of grafts placed into a designated area. However I question how well it takes into account some of the individuals specific hair characteristics ( color, caliper, straight vs curly) and if it may lead to false expectations. -
What kind of workout 2 month after fut.
Dr. Glenn Charles replied to mosd's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
At 2 months post-op you can resume almost all forms of exercise. I would still try tom avoid the chin to chest movements as there is still internal healing and scar formation occurring. This type of motion could put unnecessary stress on donor area and possible widen the scar. -
Derma roller after Hair transplant
Dr. Glenn Charles replied to Cubsguy12's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Not sure if there would be any noticeable benefits but at one year post op you are safe to use derma roller. May be worth a try. -
After one week you can start getting more aggressive with hair washing and in most cases this will help remove sculpts and scabbing in another 3-4 days.

unfortunately, you won't really know what your scalp in the donor area is going to look like until you do it. Darker skin types tend to show lighter spots more than fair skin. However in some cases patients with slighter darker skin types still have less pigmentation underneath the hair on the scalp. You might consider getting SMP in the donor area as well.

Hiding a hair transplant
Dr. Glenn Charles replied to nafta's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Are you having a FUT or FUE in your second procedure? Because shaving recipient area is not a requirement for either. That may be the preference of the doctor but there are several well respected clinics who do not require this and get good results. -
Scalp Injections Post OP
Dr. Glenn Charles replied to harlot's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
PRP would be the only type of injection I would consider at least until you have your full results. 12-15 months. -
