  1. About 8 days into post-op and I notice the scabs on the recipient area starting to dry out and fall out. I know that you're not supposed to try to forcibly remove the scabs, but if some are already loose, is it dangerous to try to remove it? Also, I noticed that some scabs which have come out have a small hair stuck to it....is this normal or a bad sign?
  2. Anyone have had any procedures done by Dr. Keller in Deerfield, IL?
  3. I'm going to have my 2nd transplant in a few days. I had FUE about a year ago and decided to do FUT this time (w/a different doctor) to increase density. I remember when I had the FUE, the whole process was extremely painful and took a good 12 hours. The assistants (who by the way did like 90% of the work) had to give me literally like 100 local injections to get me numb, and even then I felt everything. Is FUT any different? I hear the post-op recovery takes much longer. What about post-op pain? Also a couple days after FUE, I had really bad facial swelling. Is there anything I can do to
  4. I had a FUE procedure with 2500 grafts done about a year ago. I wasn't satisfied with the final outcome because of insufficient density, esp. in the front hairline. I went in for a consult for a second transplant with a different doctor and he recommended that I do a FUT this time (2000 grafts) to increase density and improve the front hairline. Is this possible? I thought that you generally can't have FUT done after a FUE (due to scar tissue, lack of viable grafts, etc.)
  5. I'm about 5 weeks post-op after FUE (2500 grafts). I'm getting a lot of pimples in the transplanted area and some areas are red and itchy. Is this normal? My doctor is recommending that I go on oral antibiotics.
  6. Hello, First time poster here. I just had 2500 graft FUE procedure. I've been wearing a hairpiece before the HT, but now I realize the back hair from my hairpiece isn't long enough to cover up the shaved donor area. Unfortunately, it'll take at least 4 months to order a custom hairpiece and I don't know what to do. I have to go to work in a few days and I can't walk around looking like this. Any ideas? Would keratin hair fibers be adequate in covering up the donor area?
  7. Newbie here....Hello! My brief history....48 y.o., Norwood 2A/3 (w/some slight crown loss). Been wearing a hair system for about 4 years but got sick of the maintenance, cost, and fear of onlookers, not to mention the discomfort. Anyways, I've researched a bit (should've done more in hindsight) and decided to get the FUE transplant from a reputable local hair doctor. I've read and was told that FUE is more conservative, less painful (yeah, right), and more importantly, no visible linear scar. After initial consultation, I was told that I needed 2500 grafts. So, several days ago, I
