  1. @MachoVato you pretty much nailed it with regards to Turkey as you are in contact with the 3 best and only options for a elite level surgery. I don’t recommend any other doctor or clinic in Turkey. @JJ1187 is correct in saying HLC quotes a high number of grafts and Pekiner also quoted me 4800 grafts but he ended up only being able to implant 3895 grafts. Without a consultation in person its really difficult to ascertain the exact number of grafts you need and the amount of grafts that can be extracted from the donor area.
  2. Wish you all the best @Cristero and look forward to read your results thread.
  3. @ready4Hair currently the rock stars are Dr. Juan Couto in Madrid that is booked solid until 2024 and Dr. Raymond Konior in Chicago with a 2 year wait list and crazy expensive. Konior colleague at his Chicago clinic - Dr. Nadimi - is also great and charges a lower price 6US/graft. Then you have the rising star Dr. Bruno Ferreira that works with Dr. Lorenzo in Madrid and has his own clinic in Porto (2.5€/graft). Hasson&Wong is still achieving amazing results but they do have techs do part of the surgery (amazing techs but still techs). For mega sessions Eugenix is considered the best choice and Dr. Arika charges 1.8€/graft but it’s not a Doctor only surgery. They are getting amazing results with high norwood patients in just 1 surgery (using beard grafts to add density like Pekiner and HLC). Stay clear from ASMED and any Turkish doctor or clinic other than HLC (2.7€/graft) and Pekiner (2.25€/graft). I tend to always recommend Doctors that do the whole surgery themselves implanting using stick&place or DHI technique and operating on just 1 patient day. Wish you all the best!
  4. @Yossarian the hairline is something that requires a highly skilled surgeon because it’s the first thing people notice so if it’s not natural then you won’t be happy with your results. In the hairline surgeons will use single hair grafts and may add doubles behind the hairline. In the crown surgeons usually use any type of graft but triples and quadruples are the best to add density along with beard grafts that are thicker thus providing even more density. If you have a surgery to rebuild the hairline with around 3000 grafts you might still have enough scalp donor area for a second surgery but it will depend on your physiology which is something the doctor may not be able to determine looking at pictures and videos of your donor area. If your beard is acceptable for transplanting (same color as your hair and not curly) then you will have this option available when you rebuild your crown vertex in your second surgery (also not easy and many surgeons reject crown rebuilts). If you chose to have a +3000 graft surgery to just rebuild your hairline then I again advise you to request a diagnosis to @Dr. Bruno Ferreira, HLC and Pekiner. Wish you all the best and let us know the feedback from the diagnosis you get.
  5. @Yossarian from looking at your pictures you seem to have around 160cm2 to fill in which is massive and it means you would need at least 6000 grafts to rebuild the hairline and get a decent density (6000/160 = 37.5cm2 average density but the hairline will need 50cm2 to be good so you will have less than 37.5cm2 in the crown). Turkey is not where the expertise is but rather the world capital for botched hair transplants. There are amazing doctors in Turkey doing the whole surgery using manual FUE and implanting with stick&place like Pekiner (2.25€/graft) and HLC Ankara (2.7€/graft) but that’s about it and then there’s low cost Doctors like Demirsoy (1.25€/graft) that also just do 1 patient per day but he opens all the holes/slits at once (big no for me) and then has the techs implanting the grafts on holes that were pre-made thus accumulating blood and fat (pre-made slits is actually the most common technique because it’s much less consuming and precise than DHI or stick&place). In Turkey there are also hundreds of all inclusive tech run surgeries where the results depend on the tech team available on the day if your surgery. For a mega session such as yours that will surely require beard grafts I would advise you to go to the best clinic in the world for mega sessions - Eugenix - and chose the package with Dr. Arika (1.8€/graft with tax) rather than a tech only package because you will need a top doctor to properly rebuild your hairline and your case is not a easy surgery. You can check @paddyirishman report on Eugenix and the many high Norwood patients that achieved a full head of hair in just 1 surgery at Eugenix. If you want to have two surgeries to maximize results then I suggest you to request a diagnosis to Dr. Bruno Ferreira (2.5€/graft), HLC and Pekiner (if you have miniaturized hairs you are not a candidate for Pekiner and should go to Bruno Ferreira that has experience with patients that have DUPA or miniaturized hairs). Almost all doctors will recommend you to start on finasteride (so it’s good you have already started) plus minoxidil spray or foam and a Biotin supplement.
  6. @Thomas_B I know that @duchaine consulted with Dr. Bruno Ferreira after having his surgery aborted by Dr. Pekiner due to having miniaturized hairs and he was extremely impressed with him (not sure if he has booked his HT with BF). My close friend also had his surgery aborted with Pekiner for the same reason and he also consulted with Dr. Bruno Ferreira that accepted the challenge and booked him for a 2 day surgery on May 28th. The experience @Dr. Bruno Ferreira has acquired from working with Dr. Lorenzo treating patients with DUPA or miniaturized hairs is one of the reasons why so many of us recommend him.
  7. @yeeaah I would say a minimum of 2000 grafts and also recommend Konior or Nadimi as they have amazing results and implant using stick&place which is considered to be one of the best technique (I’m also parcial to DHI). However, it’s the skill of the surgeon that matters because the most advanced technique in the hands of a subpar surgeon will still generate subpar results. Other option would be Dr Bruno Ferreira (2.5€/graft) in Portugal he implants using Lion Implanter Pens (DHI).
  8. @83mjs so this is a clinic in Turkey that belongs to a Irish celebrity who is asking other celebrities to have a HT there and endorse him, thank you for that valuable information. I guess that very soon new members will also be asking if we recommend Cristiano Ronaldo Hair Transplant clinic in Madrid that is run by his girlfriend because some celebrity went there. It’s been written here at HRN countless times by countless members but still people fail to understand that what matters is the skill of the surgeon and real patients posting real results not instagram videos/photos or celebrity endorsements.
  9. @Jonesy1982 as Melvin pointed out I have been this forum for over a decade giving informed advice and have had two very different hair transplants experiences (FUT and FUE+BHT). I suggested the most affordable Doctor with real patient results here at HRN in order to sway @Singhair83 away from a Turkish hairmill. You joined HRN yesterday and immediately proceed to badmouth a senior member and inform another member that was seeking advice that this Turkish Hairmill is undercutting other low cost clinics which is major red alert when choosing a clinic (which you would have know had you bothered watching Melvin’s videos). In the future I urge to give more informed advise and refrain from being so quick to criticize members that are clearly much better informed than you are.
  10. There is a shedding phase after 3 weeks and during the first 3-4 months the grafts will be in a resting phase (ugly duckling phase). Shock loss to native hairs can happen and the risk increases if a unskilled surgeon is implanting grafts near native hairs. For this and many other reasons, it`s crucial to chose a skilled surgeon with several real patients posting great results.
  11. @miko sorry to hear about your results with ASMED and it seems that issues with ASMED are becoming regular because just last week @dust78 was complaining about overharvesting and saying that ASMED was ignoring any wrong doing or responsibility. You can check more results from HLC at the Italian forum. I would also advise you to speak with Dr. Bruno Ferreira because he is at your price point 2.5€/graft does the whole surgery with DHI and operates on just 1 patient per day. He also works with Dr. Lorenzo in Madrid (but there you pay 5€/graft for him to do your surgery).
  12. @Chris bam for 156cm2 you will indeed require at least 6000 grafts to get a decent result. You can probably do 4000 scalp grafts plus 2000 beard grafts in one surgery if go to the best for mega session surgeries using beard grafts and they are; HLC (2.7€/graft), Dr. Pekiner (2.15€/graft) and Dr. Arika at Eugenix (1.8€/graft with tax). You might reach a decent density in one surgery so you can hold off on the second surgery (thus saving money and 12 months of hair transplant recovery). Again, it’s a hairline to be rebuilt plus beard grafts for added density meaning that you are a difficult case and not someone I would ever advise going to a Turkish low cost like Cinik. Remember that you have a limited amount of grafts in your donor area so every graft is precious and you will be wasting them on the technicians at Cinik. My advice, cancel Cinik, save more money and go to HLC, Pekiner or Arika.
  13. Without a doubt the two best choices in Turkey!
  14. @Chris bam if you need beard grafts to add density it’s all the more reason to waive the 500€ you paid and book with either Dr. Pekiner or Esma&Serkan (even with the 500€ these two nurses will be cheaper than Cinik and will give you a better result using DHI to implant beard and scalp grafts)
  15. @Chris bam is currently booked with Dr. Cinik and has paid him a 500€ deposit. @Egy you had a HT with Cinik what would you advise to Chris Bam?
  16. @Clark.Ethan it’s true that Keser doesn’t use a microscope but he still manages to produce some amazing hairlines. However, after knowing Keser is old school (no microscope) I started recommending more often Bruno Ferreira and Pekiner.
  17. @Chris bam most doctors will tell you to get on finasteride to regain density in the crown. You need to rebuild the hairline which is something that not every doctor can make look natural and then cover your midscalp and crown. I would say you will need at least 4000 grafts and your native hairs might suffer from shock loss due to transplanted hairs being implanted in the same area so a good surgeon will be crucial for you to achieve a good result. I strongly urge you to chose a Doctor that performs the whole surgery and has several patients posting great natural hairlines achieved by said Doctor.
  18. @Singhair83 Turkey is the world capital of botched hair transplant and Hair of Istambul is your typical turkish hairmill operating several patients per day using underpaid technicians. If you want good results at a affordable price then do yourself a favor and go to Dr. Demirsoy (1.25€/graft). He does surgery on just 1 patient per day so he will be totally dedicated to achieving the best possible results for you. This is not like buying a car you can replace after a few years this is a permanent surgery and your donor area is limited so every graft is precious.
  19. @Chris bam I have to tell you that Cinik is a all inclusive low cost Turkish hairmill clinic in which the Doctor has very little intervention in the surgery and has several patients per day so basically it’s a tech run surgery. If you want to get good results with the most affordable price possible then go to Dr. Demirsoy at 1.25€/graft. He only operates on 1 patient per day so totally focused on you during your surgery and only delegates to his nurses part of the implantation of the grafts the rest his done by Dr. Demirsoy. I would advise you to cancel Cinik and book Demirsoy.
  20. @Chris bam why would you risk having a surgery with a unknown Doctor without any patient results on any forum when you have Dr. Rahal so close to you. You can also catch a cheap direct flight to Portugal and go to Dr. Bruno Ferreira.
  21. @Irry88 I totally agree with @transplantedphil recommendation. Check out @Kaya hairline reconstruction by Dr. Keser (3.5€/graft) it’s amazing! If you want a more affordable doctor go to Pekiner (2.15€/graft) and if you can broaden your horizons then go to Dr. Bruno Ferreira (2.5€/graft) in Porto/Portugal. There are no other Turkish doctors getting the natural results we see from Keser, Pekiner and HLC. Remember that Turkey is the world capital of botched surgeries so I would really recommend you to chose one of the 3 best in Turkey we have recommend.
  22. @kingk I have had a HT in Turkey and you should be aware that Turkey is the world capital of botched hair transplants. Your list makes no sense to me because you are trying to compare 2 low cost hairmills with a tech run surgery at Asmed and then you include HLC which is a clinic where the surgery is totally performed by a Doctor using stick&place and therefore it’s in a whole different league. Obviously just like @Sam818 already advised you I will also have to say that out of your list I can only recommend HLC. If you really want to have your surgery in Turkey then also talk with Dr. Pekiner (2.15€/graft) but I advise you to broaden your horizons and speak with @Dr. Bruno Ferreira (2.5€/graft)
  23. Never heard of that clinic nor of any reputed Doctor working there. Hope your results turn out ok but I wouldn’t recommend going back there for a second surgery. Wish you all the best.
  24. @shady mohamed I have to say that by looking at your 8 day pictures and doesn’t seem like a 4500 grafts surgery. The grafts have more density in the hairline but then it’s looks like very low density in the midscalp which shouldn’t be the case had you been implanted with 4500 grafts. Also, I can see several doubles and even some triples in the hairline which is not the best if the doctor wants to achieve a natural looking hairline. Where did you have this surgery?
  25. @TrixGlendevon I explained my side effects to several doctors and they all still insisted I went on finasteride claiming that side effects would go away but in my case it wasn’t mandatory for me to be on fin to be accepted for surgery. I’m not a doctor but it seems like the advice I gave is similar to what most doctors recommend and in @Cristero case he can actually be ruled out for not being on finasteride.
