  2. US and every other country underestimating this pandemic will be having similar numbers to Italy along with collapse of their health care services. It took almost 2000 infected and 79 deaths for the UK Prime Minister to completely change his speech yesterday and start taking action. I only hope that countries that haven taken the drastic mesures to stop this plague and will eventually become safe zones aren’t hit with a second wave from the US or other countries that aren’t taking the drastic measures necessary to contain this virus.
  3. @Melvin-Moderator as soon as Eugenix website starts advertising what you claim from “hear/say” you will obviously also get my approval for their membership. Sorry but here in Portugal we tend to only believe in information when it’s written in black&white by the proper authorities (in this case Eugenix). Hope you understand.
  4. @Melvin-Moderator I commend you on recommending Dr. Arika and Dr. Sethi as they are indeed getting great results at very affordable prices and I have recommend the package with Dr. Arika many times in this forum (also had to persuade members to stay clear of the low cost package by explaining why it’s important to have the Doctor responsable for achieving great results by our side during our surgery). However I must ask you to please clarify where it’s advertised that Dr. Arika and Dr. Sethi supervise the lower price “Exclusive Package” surgery because they advertise that they have ZERO involvement in this surgery and it’s the junior doctors you mentioned that are doing the surgery: https://www.eugenix.in/cost-of-hair-transplant.html Also I don’t understand what you mean when you say that HRN now recommends Doctors and not their clinics because it makes no sense to me. Based on that statement you will be approving Dr. Cinik that was rejected membership by forum members for having a low cost option without his supervision and all the other hairmills that have a good doctor giving his name and then have low cost options with no involvement from the reputed Doctor/s. For this reason alone I can’t give my humble approval for HRN to accept Eugenix or it’s Doctors until we can see the statement you have written above under the terms of the low cost “Exclusive Package” option. I do hope they change the conditions of this Exclusive Package option because it would great for HRN to finally have affordable Doctors/Clinics in their list of coalition members.
  5. Stay safe @duchaine and hang in there in the midst of all this underserved hell we are now living.
  6. I’m in the food business so ofcourse off-trade sales have skyrocketed while on-trade sales are beginning to show signs of decrease due to imposed limitations by the government to the restaurant sector that will indeed now suffer a crisis due to this virus. We are a European country so obviously all factories have already implemented certified contingency plans to assure the health safety of all food products. Monday all schools, daycare and universities will close and any venue open to the public will have limitations on its capacity to avoid people staying close to each other. At our factory many workers will need to stay home with their kids that can’t go to school so the government will pay part of their salary and the employers will pay the same amount so that workers can still have almost 80% of their net salary while staying at home taking care of the kids for the next month of social isolation. Health care is free in Portugal so every doctor I know is now pulling 48h shifts trying to treat everyone that keeps coming in but the staff and equipment is not enough. Its a crisis but everyone is doing their role and mine is staying isolated at home while still taking care of my sales accounts.
  7. My wife is a Judge and is working everyday to assure urgent court trials keep on going but after work she is isolated at home with her family. I run a sales department so like all the other people that can work from home, we are doing our civic duty of isolating ourselves to avoid further widespread. Ofcourse not everyone can stay home because factories must keep on producing and nothing as stopped like you ignorantly say but mesures are being taken to avoid further widespread. In Portugal everyone now knows someone with this virus so ofcourse there will be a panic and people will stock up with a 1 month of food because they are indeed planning on staying home for a whole month. The multinational I work for said that my job functions can be carried out remotely so I was asked to isolate myself until further notice in order to reduce the risk of widespread at both the factory and our society. Every company is doing this as it’s their social responsibility to do so! @Melvin-ModeratorIf you want images just watch Italian tv channels.
  8. Unacceptable statement from someone working at the health industry! What’s more deadly, a virus with 100% mortality rate that will affect 1% of the population around the amazon rain forest of Covid-19 that will affect 10% of a whole country population if not contained...
  9. @CosmoKramer and @Melvin-Moderator I’m shocked at your comments and comparisons of this virus with a IT bug Y2K. Italy has 1266 deaths due to this virus. Italian Hospitals are not accepting patients over 60 years old due to lack of equipment so they are being sent home to die. Portuguese parliament today had a general Doctor stating the we also don’t have enough medical practitioners and equipment to treat the amount of people coming in every day and if drastic containment mesures aren’t enforced we will rapidly be in the exact same situation as Italy. I do hope that you are clueless to what’s happening because your country infrastructure are holding and for now Covid-19 is indeed posing the same threat as a IT bug but I doubt this to be the case and very soon your government will also be enforcing more drastic mesures to prevent this from spreading because no country is ready to have 10% of its population rushing to the hospital in need of urgent care. Stay safe and open your eyes Covid-19 is not Y2K!
  10. @CosmoKramer and @Melvin-Moderator I also remember Y2K (that nobody cared about in Europe) and it’s was nothing like the war like scenario we are now living! Policed mandatory curfew, empty supermarket shelves, closed borders, public services shutdown and all commercial services open to the public either closed or very with limited access. There are has been nothing like this since world war II.
  11. @Melvin-Moderator the link you posted actually says "with a vaccine ready for public use within the next 12 to 18 months, a top U.S. health official said Thursday." Therefore, it seems by the link you posted that @Legend007 was indeed right on saying that it will take up to a year and half untill we see a vaccine.
  12. The Portuguese Government just announced that all schools public or private must shutdown on monday. Everyone is asking our government to shutdown our borders along with all non-essential public services. Hard to understand how anyone would ever consider traveling anywhere for HT at this time.
  13. @Melvin-Moderator I will quote my best friend who is a a Nose Ears and Throat Doctor treating this virus at public hospital in reply to the comment you posted because I friend of ours said almost the exact same thing: "Yes people die from more often from other infectious diseases but what`s happening is that we are not prepared to accomodate all of these people that keep coming in with serious respiratory infections, we don`t have enough ventilators for all this people! The operating rooms will have to stop functioning so that we can use the ventilators in the operating rooms and this is already happening in Italy with very serious consequences. This virus is no to be dismissed or compared to the common flu like some people stupidly said. Keep your distance from other people, wash your hands regularly and have lunch alone without colleagues". This is what Doctors are saying and I rather take the word of someone fighting this virus on the frontline over any newspaper, government or social media.
  14. I live in Portugal and we just got the first Covid-19 patient last week after seeing on the news the hardship many countries are enduring due to with this outbreak. Despite the whole country being on Red Alert to the care we must take and having seen what happened in Italy and China, today only 7 days later, we have almost 100 cases and unofficial numbers are said to be much higher because the laboratory doing the tests is not prepared to do hundreds or thousands of tests per day so we are getting new confirmations slowly every hour as the virus continues to spread. Several Doctors in my close group of friends are telling me that they got scared when looking at recent CT Scans showing just how aggressive this new strain of the COVID-19 really is and what scared them the most is that is spreading like wildfire and governments are taking too long to finally decide on a nationwide public services and borders shutdown like Italy has just enforced. Myself and almost every other parent with kids in Portuguese private schools just got a email last night saying that schools are now closed. Justice courts have shutdown today and hopefully other public services will also be closing to hault the widespread of this virus. Hospitals are not prepared for the insane number of infected patients coming in every day so many won’t have a bed nor medical supplies nor machines for respiratory support to aid in recovery. Therefore, many people will actually die from the inability of hospitals to treat them. If any of you think this is a hype or can be compared with any SARS, Zika or any other virus that never really traveled very far from it´s point of origin then you are greatly mistaken as this is spreading like wildfire and will cause respiratory infections on a high percentage of infected patients so if the hospitals are unable to treat the infected patients the risk of death will be very high. Today I got to work and found that our CEO has COVID-19. COVID-19 will be reaching our family our friends our colleagues and ourselves if drastic mesures are not enforced! US finally opened its eyes and decided to close its border but only to Europe so obviously it won`t be enough because this virus is not only in Europe and will continue to spread amongst the population until public services are shutdown and people stay indoors for the duration of the incubation period which is 14-20 days. Doctors here in Portugal are being forced to take ventilators from operating rooms because no hospital is prepared for the influx of Covid-19 patients. There is a triage in effect at Hospitals due to lack of equipment, medicine and beds so older patients will not be getting proper care because the priority is children and young adults. Stay safe people and isolate yourselves from your elderly friends and family.
  15. @Steeeve1551 in Turkey you will have to pay at least 1.25€graft to get a decent doctor as this is the price Dr. Demirsoy charges and you won`t find any other Doctor with good results charging this price.
  16. Today I got to work and found that our CEO has COVID-19. Sadly the company where I work still hasn`t sent everyone home. This is not like Zika, Dengue or any other virus that never travelled very far away from their point of origin! COVID-19 will be reaching our family our friends our colleagues and ourselves if drastic mesures are not enforced! US finally opened its eyes because of the more agressive virus strain in Italy and therefore decided to close its border but only to Europe so obviously it won`t be enough because this virus is not only in Europe and will continue to spread like wildfire amongst the population until public services are shutdown and people stay indoors for the duration of the incubation period which is 20 days. Doctors here in Portugal are working overtime and taking ventilators out of surgery rooms because no hospital is prepared for the influx of Covid-19 patients. There is a triage in effect at Hospitals due to lack of equipment, medicine and beds so older patients will not be getting proper care as they are giving priority to children and young adults. Stay safe people and isolate yourselves from your elderly friends and family.

  18. @Nick911 you are way off there is actually a class action lawsuit against Artas and several botched surgeries online for you to look at. The Gold Standard techniques for FUE are either stick&place (Konior, HLC, Pekiner, Keser) or DHI (Juan Couto, Raphael De Freitas, Bruno Ferreira). There’s a whole debate on manual vs motorized punch but I have been told that either option can provide the same high level results as it’s all about the skill of the Doctor you select to do your surgery. The best technique in the hands of a average doctor will still get you a average result.
  19. @scottmac910 you seem to be clueless to what is going on in Europe. Doctors are telling me that they are scared when looking at recent CT Scans of patients showing the aggressiveness of the new strains of the COVID-19 and how fast its spreading due to government taking a lot of time to finally decide on a nationwide shutdown of public services like Italy has just enforced. If you think this is a hype you are greatly mistaken and if go to a public hospital in Turkey in April your are either insane or have a death wish.
  20. How are you planning a trip in mid April with the Covid-19 Outbreak? It should be easy to book a surgery in April because every company in Europe has prohibited their staff from traveling and everyone here is canceling flights and Hotels. You do realize that schools and courts are closed, supermarkets are running out of food and everyone is basically staying home? This is what’s going on here in Portugal where we had the first Covid-19 last week and it’s not expected to get better by mid April...
  21. @scottmac910 @scottmac910 if you chose them you will have your surgery at a public hospital where nobody speaks English and be operated on by Nurse Esma that also speaks 0 English with the support of her team that also don’t speak English. Sure that for a Turkish this would be acceptable but for me I would never subject myself to this type of hair transplant experience. That being said Esma Tetik is still a much better option than all the hairmills you mentioned because at least you know who’s doing the surgery and can check Esma’s real patient results on the Turkish forum which are good. I urge you to consider Dr. Bruno Ferreira or Dr. Arika and if budget is really tight then go to Demirsoy.
  22. @Scott those clinics have tech teams doing surgeries so your results depend on you being lucky and being assigned a good tech team on the day of your surgery. A tech is not a Doctor nor a Nurse it`s a technician that could have been washing dishes the month before doing your surgery. This is why Turkey is the world capital for botched hair transplants but yes some people can get lucky. Are you really willing to risk a permanent surgery that will deplete your donor area hoping you will also get lucky like your friends? This is not like buying a car that you can trade after a few years, this is a permanent surgery and your donor area is limited so every graft is precious and needs to used in the best way possible! Save up and chose a good Doctor.
  23. @scottmac910 I have to be honest with you and tell you that your list is full of low cost hairmills. The only option on your list that is not a hairmill and has good results from real patients (on the Turkish forum) are the two nurses Esma&Serkan Tetik but they are not Doctors they are nurses implanting with DHI technique in a rented operating room at a local hospital. Turkish minimum wage is 200 bucks per month so they can`t really afford the elite surgeons like HLC, Pekiner or Keser and end up haviong to go to good Nurses like E&S or take the risk at a local hairmill. If you want a low cost option go to Dr. Arika at Eugenix (1.8€/graft) as they have a world class technique "DHT" in which the grafts are extracted and immediatly implanted into pre-made holes/slits. If you can afford to spend a bit more money go to Dr. Bruno Ferreira (2.5€/graft) he uses DHI like E&S and operates on just 1 patient per day. Dr. Demirsoy is the cheapest at 1.25€/graft and also operates on just 1 patient per day but he also does pre-made hole/slits and then has techs implant the grafts. Therefore, he can implant up to 4000 grafts in one day while Dr. Bruno is limited to 2000 grafts per day due to a more precise technique DHI. I’m not found of pre-made slits because once the hole is opened it starts closing and accumulating blood and fat meaning that the holes have to be bigger if they are staying open for hours while the techs and doctor implant 4000 grafts. The bigger the hole/slit and the more difficult the recovery and less chance of a great result. It´s for this reason that a FUE Icon like Dr. Konior uses stick&place and the FUE genious Dr. Juan Couto uses DHI. I urge to go with one of these 3 great and affordable Doctors (with a preference for Dr. Bruno) rather than your list of low cost hairmills.
  24. @bw77 you have some nice options already but I would also advise you to request a diagnosis to @Dr. Bruno Ferreira as he operates just 1 patient per day using DHI with Lion Implanter Pens. He extracts the grafts and then places each one into Lion Implantor Pens that open the hole and implant the graft at the same time thus reducing trauma to the graft. Patients recover faster with DHI and Stick&Place because the holes are smaller as they are not pre-made but instead opened one at a time. Regarding Dr. Pekiner I was informed yesterday that my friend Paulo that was booked with him for May has been refunded of his 1500€ deposit. His brother Gonçalo was my friend that had his surgery aborted in December due to miniaturized hair (like what happened to @duchaine ) so Paulo was affraid of also having his surgery aborted. Dr. Pekiner said he doesn`t have miniturized hair like his brother but Paulo insisted on a refund and Dr. Pekiner refunded Paulo so he can book Dr. Bruno Ferreira (his brother Gonçalo is now booked for Dr. Bruno on May 28th). For me this action speaks highly in terms of Ethics of this clinic as I`m pretty sure very few Doctors would refund a patient deposit just because his brother had a surgery aborted at the same clinic.
