  1. @quinny like Melvin said Turkey is a landmine as it’s the world capital for botched hair transplants. I only recommend HLC in Turkey because the doctor does the whole surgery and they use a highly skilled technique called stick&place but it’s 2.5€/graft. If you want a low cost option in Turkey it’s Demirsoy but he does pre-made slits/holes and has the technicians implant the grafts. It’s still the best you can get for 1.25€/graft. A better option would be Dr. Arika at Eugenix (1.8€/graft) she does a technique called DHT in which the grafts stay out of the body for no more than 30m.
  2. @Gasthoerer you are right in saying that Demirsoy is a much better option that the Turkish Hairmills (Cinik and Zyia) that @LosingMyBarnet1983 was initially considering but he’s not on the same league or as Dr. BF or HLC.
  3. @Melvin L. Mayer MD yes all surgeons may have bad results but not as many as we can easily find on Yaman in forums. Also your recommendation was a low cost Doctor charging 1€/graft when we are talking about world class surgeons like @Dr. Bruno Ferreira.
  4. @Sijac09 why do you say not to go to HLC or Dr. Bruno Ferreira? Do you have any information on these two doctors that make you believe Demirsoy to be a better option? Do you know Dr. Demirsoy does up to 4000 grafts per day because he does pre-made slits/holes and then has the tech team do the implatation part of the surgery? Do you know this means our head will have up to 4000 holes/slits pre-made and open for hours before being implanted with grafts? Since the holes immediately start to close after being opened this more ancient technique implies wider holes and thus a worst recovery. With this older technique Demirsoy can do 4000 grafts per day at 1.25€/graft and still make more money than HLC that are limited to a max 1500 grafts per day due to a more skilled technique called stick&place or Dr. BF that can’t do more than 1800 grafts with DHI. Please enlighten us on why you advise against the best in Turkey and a rising star in Europe and prefer a Doctor doing pre-made slits with technicians doing part of the surgery? Thank you
  5. Dr Yaman has several bad results at HRN and other forums. @Egy and I are recommending the best in Turkey which is HLC and I recommended a rising star in Europe Dr. Bruno Ferreira. These are Doctors that perform the whole surgery themselves on just 1 patient per day and have Zero bad results online (only happy patients). I don’t understand why @Melvin-Moderator would consider someone like Yasmin to be on the same level as the other Doctors we are discussing on this thread because he’s not in the same league as Dr. BF or HLC. Here’s one of the many examples of Yaman botched HT’s.
  6. @Egy you had a bad HT and went to Cinik for a repair job. We, the patients don’t have the knowledge to know what to ask the doctor to do in a repair surgery we just know our hairline doesn’t look good. Any Doctor doing a repair HT knows they have to remove the doubles, triples or quads from the hairline because that’s basic HT 101 and the mere fact that Cinik Hairmill Clinic failed to do so just proves they are not concerned with the patients but rather with giving barely decent results and making sure the operating rooms are full so they can charge low prices to 8-10 patients per day that are operated on by technicians. I would never advise Cinik or any other hairmill to anyone.
  7. @Coady Dr. Cinik doesn’t do surgeries! Cinik is a low cost Turskish Hairmill with all inclusive prices were techs do the surgeries. The techs at Cinik Clinic can achieve decent results but I would never have a HT surgery knowing the doctor involvement is zero to none and my results rely on my luck to get a good tech team doing my surgery (and not the tech team that just joined Cinik’s hairmill and were washing dishes at a restaurant a few months ago).
  8. @Osman1234 if you don’t want to take Finasteride you will probably lose all the hairs in the front, mid-scalp and crown (evolving to NW7 like I did). You also have the chance to lose some of the transplanted grafts (like I did). For this reason I would advise you to wait another 5 years before having a HT if Finasteride is not a option. I stopped Finasteride a few months after my first HT because experienced acute testicular pain but now 12 years later I’m considering taking it again because I don’t have any more donor area and I will continue to lose hair for the rest of my life if I don’t take Finasteride.
  9. @Egy basically HLC and Dr.BF are not afraid of challenges and that is why I recommend them both.
  10. @Egy what happened to Duchaine also happened to my friend Gonçalo. Goncalo had some miniaturized hairs but had his HT two weeks ago by @Dr. Bruno Ferreira and Dr. BF didn’t understand why Pekiner aborted the surgery because yes there are some miniaturized hairs but for him it’s not a reason to abort. Duchaine had his surgery at HLC in January after being aborted by Pekiner and he is now happy. Pekiner get’s great results but I don’t recommend him because of he is too conservative and takes zero risks! I only recommend HLC in Turkey.
  11. @LosingMyBarnet1983 you have to understand that Turkey if the world capital for botched hair transplants! It’s full of Turskish Hairmills where technicians (that could have been washing dishes a few months ago) do your surgery so your results depend on the tech team you get at these turkish Hairmills from low price Cinik to high price Asmed. In the whole of Turkey there’s only 1 safe bet which is HLC Ankara (2.5€/graft). Here the doctor will be doing your whole surgery with manual FUE using a highly skilled implantation technique called stick&place which means they open 1 hole at a time and immediately implant tha graft after opening the hole (allows for the hole to be smaller hence a quicker recovery). If you can travel to Europe then go to @Dr. Bruno Ferreira he works in Madrid with one of the best FUE Doctors in the world Dr. Jose Lorenzo but also has his own clinic in Porto where he charges 2.5€/graft instead of 5€/graft (in Madrid). Dr. BF does DHI which means he implants using a implantor pens that are charged with each graft and these pens will open the hole/slit and implant the graft at the same time (even smaller slits than stick&place). Cinik is like playing Russian roulette because they have good tech teams (bad ones too because techs come and go) but do you really want to risk a permanent surgery on your luck to get a good tech team????? I highly advise you against having a HT at the two Turskish Hairmills you are considering and go to Dr. BF but if you are dead set on Turkey then go to HLC (same price). I also had my HT in Turkey and I chose Dr. Pekiner (that worked at HLC for many years and then left to open his own clinic). Pekiner gets amazing results but he aborts surgeries if he finds miniaturized hairs and is too conservative so I can only recommend HLC in Turkey. Best of luck to you my friend!
  12. @Osman1234 sorry but Minoxidil will not stop your hairloss. There’s only 1 solution to stop hairloss and that is Finasteride. If you don’t take it you will most likely evolve to a Norwood 7 in the next 5 years. A ethical Doctor might refuse doing surgery on a 25 year old if he’s not in Finasteride because you will probably lose many of the transplanted hairs to the front (just like I did). ASMED and all other Turkish hairmils and will gladly take your money without warning you about this because they are concerned about money and not how the patient will look in 5 to 7 years. I advise you to request a diagnosis to Dr.Bruno Ferreira.
  13. @Osman1234 you should read recent posts about Koray Erdogan because you will understand that nowadays it’s nothing more than a high priced turkish Hairmill where your results will depend on the techs assigned to your surgery when you check in. There are several fellow HRN members with botched hair transplant from ASMED complaining from lack of response and even being threatened by lawyers. My advise is run like the wind from ASMED (unless you want a surgery run by technicians instead of a renowned Doctor) If you are dead set on having a HT in Turkey the only sure bet is HLC Ankara at 2.5€/graft. I say this having had myself a HT in Turkey. My doctor Kaan Pekiner achieves amazing results but he aborts patients with miniaturized hairs and is too conservative. Both HLC and Pekiner only operate on 1 patient per day and implant using a technique called stick&place in which they open 1 hole/slit at a time and immediately implant the graft. If you are willing to go to Europe then look at @Dr. Bruno Ferreira because he works in Madrid with Dr. Jose Lorenzo one of the best FUE docs in the world but also has his own clinic in Porto where he charges 2.5€/graft. Dr. BF does a technique called DHI in which the graft is inserted into implanter pen and these pens open the hole/slit and implant the graft at the same time. This means smaller holes/slits and a quicker recovery. I was also 25 in 2008 when I had my first HT with Dr. Rahal. i had side effects with Finasteride and stopped taking it so I lost all the hair in my mid-scalp and crown and in 2017 I was a NW7 with maybe 60% of grafts implanted holding up in the front. Since you are also 25 I would imagine any doctor not looking just to take your money to strongly advise you to start Finasteride because if you don’t in 5-7 years time you will be a NW7. best of luck to you!
  14. @judoka_clark I would advise to go to @Dr. Bruno Ferreira in Portugal. He’s works with one of the best FUE Docs in the world Dr. Lorenzo in Madrid but also does surgeries in his own clinic in Porto for 2.5€/graft. He only has 1 patient per day and operates using DHI technique the same as Dr. Juan Couto and Dr. Rafael De Freitas. You won’t find any other Doctor with his skills charging this price.
  15. @duchaine I’m so happy for you my friend! Your results look amazing and you still have many more months of new growth! My friend Gonçalo that also was rejected from Pekiner in December had his 3210 grafts HT las week with @Dr. Bruno Ferreira and he’s also super happy! Pekiner takes zero risks and in the end this will hurt his reputation even if he’s getting good results. Keep posting your results as I will follow your thread closely.
  16. @Jijypuru I wasn’t aware Pekiner refuses surgeries because the patient doesn’t want beard grafts you should confirm this with Pekiner. I do know he aborts surgeries if he finds miniaturized hairs. He basically takes Zero risks. That’s why I recommend Dr. Bruno Ferreira more often even though my results with Pekiner so far are very good.
  17. Since I don`t need a repair HT I think Dr. BF would be right choice to get a few more grafts out of my scalp but only if I don`t get enough density from this surgery (here`s hoping!).
  18. BHT specialists are HLC, Pekiner and Eugenix (Dr.Arika or Dr.Sethi). Pekiner is hyper cautious and said I have no scalp donor left so that would leave me with HLC (not sure if they are less conservative with the donor area because Pekiner came from HLC) or Eugenix. Dr. BF also has experience with BHT (he’s just not fond of it) and I know he can work better with a almost depleted donor area so if I have to go for a third round I will probably chose Dr. BF in order to get a few grafts from the scalp.
  19. @Kaya thank you! Pekiner cherry picks the grafts and told me I had no more donor area in my scalp. I`m pretty sure Dr. Bruno Ferreira can extract more grafts from my scalp donor but he`s not fond of beard grafts. If I do go for a third surgery I will most likely go with @Dr. Bruno Ferreira but I would need to convince him to extract +1000 grafts from my beard. However, I`m hoping this surgery with Dr. Pekiner will be enough for a decent coverage.
  20. Thanks Melvin! Was hoping to have better coverage by now but I read somewhere that the crown takes 18 months to get to 100% so I’m hoping I will get a lot more growth in the next months.
  21. @Gasthoerer any technique used by unskilled Doctors (or even worse unskilled technicians) will not provide good results and damage the donor area that’s why the most important thing is choosing a good Doctor. I will never endorse tech run surgeries (full or partly run by techs) unless it’s clinics where any amazing tech would kill to work at like H&W. If you check the donor area @Dr. Bruno Ferreira gave @Rolandas you can confirm it’s one of the cleanest on HRN. I do know many clinics have the Doctor doing pre-made slits and then the techs implant using implantor pens because it’s more dummy proof than having them do it manually with forceps but this is ridiculous because the point for using DHI is for Doctors to avoid making pre-made slits. Pekiner designed my crown swirl on my bald crown and implanted doing stick&place. I agree with you that this is pretty hard to do this with this technique but I think it looks great (chosing a good Doctor goes a long way).
  22. @83mjs you should check with your Doctor on how many days post surgery does he recommend starting Nizoral. It’s not a delicate neutral ph 5.5 shampoo like Sebamed.
  23. @rhstoned, stick&place and DHI are two FUE techniques. DHI is the newest technique and I consider it to be a evolution of stick&place. The most profitable technique is having the doctor do pre-made slits and then have techs do the implanting because it allows for more grafts to be implanted in 1 day and for the Doctor to have more than 1 patient per day. This is why this technique is common but I would never chose it for myself. Overharvesting has nothing to do with motorized extraction but rather with clinics using technicians with little experience to extract grats (you have cases of overharvesting here at HRN from ASMED for just this reason). Dr. BF does both manual and motorized extraction depending on the graft he is extracting and if you check @Rolandas results thread you will confirm that @Dr. Bruno Ferreira produces the cleanest donor area you will ever see.
  24. Thank you @paddyirishman for the kind words really means a lot!
  25. @rhstoned Pekiner only does 1 patient per day just like HLC (where he used to work) and Demirsoy. However, you can’t compare Demirsoy with Pekiner or HLC because it’s two totally different techniques. Demirsoy is able to do up to 4000 grafts per day because he does motorized extraction which is faster, then does pre-made slits/holes and has the technicians implant the grafts into the 4000 holes he opened. Slits/holes immediately start to close after being opened so if you have opened holes for hours before being implanted with grafts it means the holes need to be wider and the recovery more painful. I’m not a fan of pre-made slits or surgeries where the technicians are responsable for part of the surgery. For me It’s Doctors doing the whole with nurses or techs providing assistance. HLC (2.5€/graft) and Pekiner (2.25€/graft) do manual extraction that takes longer and then implant using stick&place which means the Doctor opens 1 hole/slit and immediately implant the graft. Because it’s the Doctor doing the whole procedure with a more precise technique the maximum grafts per day are just 1500. So Demirsoy (1.25€/graft) can charge half the price of Pekiner or HLC and still make more money per day because he can implant more than double the grafts per day. I only recommend two options in Turkey: HLC and Pekiner (only if you don’t have miniaturized hair because he aborts surgeries if he finds miniaturized hairs). The best option right now is @Dr. Bruno Ferreira he does motorized extraction with a smaller punch than Pekiner or HLC (easier recovery) and implants with the most recent technique - DHI - meaning he places each graft inside a implator pen and this pen will open open the slit/hole and implant the graft at the same time. This technique is limited to 2000 grafts per day and Dr. BF doesn’t go beyond 2 day surgeries (Pekiner and HLC go up to 3 days but they do less grafts per day). Dr. BF also operates on just 1 patient per day and has his clinic in Porto where he charges 2.5€/graft, he also works in Madrid with one of the best FUE Doctors in the world - Dr. Lorenzo. Final note: it’s the Doctor that matters when doing a surgery because a bad doctor using the best technique in the world will still get you a bad result. Wish you all the best!
