  1. With Stick&Place the punch used to make the slits can have a diameter as low as 0,6mm because the graft is implanted immediately after the hole is punched so the hole/slit has no time to close. This is related to a quicker recovery with zero swelling along with a higher graft survival rate. Doctors doing pre-made slits are basically punching thousands holes (that immediately start to close once they are opened so they must be wider) that will stay open for quite some time before the technicians finish implanting thousands of grafts in the pre-made slits (where the Doctor marked the X). This is a older technique. Recentely Stick&Place has evolved to DHI in which the doctors uses several implantor pens that are charged with the grafts. These pens punch the hole/slit and implant the graft at the same time so there’s less handling of the graft thus less trauma to the graft. Some Doctors like Pekiner still prefer Stick&Place because it’s more manual handling thus allowing them to have a better feel of the depth of the punch they are making and a better control the angle of the graft they are implanting. For me these are the best techniques in FUE and actually Dr. Konior (15USD/graft) one of the best FUE Doctors in the world is doing Stick&Place. I do believe many Doctors will upgrade to DHI solely because it allows then to implant more grafts per day due to the fact of the implantor pen being much quicker doing the 2 steps of implanting rather than manually punching and then implanting each graft one at a time.
  2. @kiokbscongratulations on chosing Dr. Pekiner. Your donor area recovered very well and the recipient area looks really remarkably natural with the singles properly placed in the front and with perfect angles to provide a natural look and flow of the hairs. Pretty sure this is going to be a home run for Pekiner. I highly recomend you to stay on Finasteride because I stopped taking it in 2009 and lost all my hair in the midscalp and crown (even lost several of the transplanted hairs I got in 2008 by Dr. Rahal). @giegnosiganoe the reason why Pekiner does just a little over 1000 grafts per day is because of his highly skilled technique called stick&place and the fact that he`s performing the whole surgery without delegating any steps to technicians. Stick&Place is very demanding on the Doctor because the Doctor has to manually make the punch/hole in which he determines the location of the graft and then he imediatly implant the graft with the perfect angle (he`s doing this 1000x plus times per day). Ofcourse with such a precise and skilled technique done by just 1 person with nurses only there for assisting him makes it impossible for Dr. Pekiner to implant more than 1500 grafts in 1 day. Pekiner is truly one of the best Doctors in Turkey.
  3. When you are looking at Doctors up to 1.25€/graft it`s impossible to expect perfection but some risks can be reduced if the Doctor is doing just 1 patient per day and is present for the whole surgery. Demirsoy does 1 patient per day and olny has the techs do the implating in the pre-made slits he has done. This is not something I would ever chose for myself as I preffer to pay to have the Doctor is perform the whole surgery with highly skilled techniques either DHI or Stick&Place.
  4. He has very few patients posting their results and only result at the Spanish forum shows overharvesting (this clinic has techs do the extraction so risk of overharvesting will be higher) along with poor growth... https://foro.recuperarelpelo.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=81903&start=75 Demirsoy is the truly the most affordable option for a having a HT with good Doctor.
  5. He learned from his mistake @duchaine because he didn`t even suggest keeping @PT#31deposit as that`s unaceptable.Pekiner even refunded his brother`s deposit for a surgery in 2020 just because his brother was scared he could have the same condition. His brother is now also going to Dr. BF. You did talk with him and got your deposit back (there`s really no way he could justify keeping your deposit). In the end you managed to fit in a surgery at HLC right after you were aborted by Pekiner so you didn´t even lose the flight cost and your results are impressive, congratulations!!! My family and friends are mostly Doctors and I can tell than you most definitely don`t want a Doctor doing surgery on you if he`s not confortable with what he`s doing so both you and @PT#31 are very lucky to have been aborted and went to Doctors that were confortable doing your surgery.
  6. @PizzaWolfmy friend @PT#31is very thankful to Dr. Pekiner for being humble enought to admit he wouldn`t be able to achieve the results he desired and for aborting his surgery. He paid about 500€ to implant the 250 grafts already extracted and afterwards went to @Dr. Bruno Ferreirathat works with Lorenzo performing surgeries on patients with miniaturized hairs and DUPA on a regular basis (hence more used to patients with this condition). You can check @PT#31results thread and see that he`s supper happy so far instead of being scared of his outcome should Pekiner had taken the risk to do a surgery on a patient with a condition he`s not confortable with operating on. Like @Melvin-Moderatorsaid Pekiner does good work, he does abort sessions if he feels the grafts are miniaturized. There’s no point beating a dead horse.
  7. @Abo Leelthe top surgeons in Turkey are Dr. Ozgur and Dr. Akin at HLC (2.5€/graft) Dr. Pekiner (2.25€/graft) and Dr. Keser (3.5€/graft) so I don`t understand your concern about Dr. Demirsoy not being on this list of Top Turkish Doctors... He can`t be on this list because he`s not in the same league as the top surgeons in Turkey which is the reason why you pay less than half the price. Demirsoy is the best in the league of low cost Turkish Doctors you mentioned earlier like Yaman, Aygin, Doganay, etc. Ofcourse Eugenix is a better option than Demirsoy but in order to have Dr. Arika present at your surgery you will pay 1.8€/graft. For this price the techs still do the implanting but at least Dr. Arika will be handling part of the surgery. Always stay clear away from packages that don`t have the Doctor doing the surgery (Eugenix also has these packages with surgeries totally done by technicians and it`s the reason why I voted against having them as a member of HRN).
  8. @PizzaWolfa caution is another word for a deposit to book your intended date. I also paid a deposit in 2008 to Dr. Rahal to secure my date will you also be calling Dr Rahal a shyster and a hack? I kindly ask you to reffrain from such name calling and unfounded accusations as this is not the environment that is promoted at HRN by @Melvin-Moderatorand the other Admins
  9. There are a total of 3 cases: @PT#31 @duchaine @lixinfu Dr. Pekiner told me that so far there has been no other cases and the last one, my friend @PT#31 got to chose to pay nothing or have the extracted grafts implanted and pay just for those grafts. Both myself and @duchaine contributed to make everyone aware that this was happening with Dr. Pekiner and I was telling everyone about my friend @PT#31 even before he came to HRN to show his results with Dr. BF. I do believe that by making everyone aware that Pekiner was aborting surgeries (that were later performed by other Doctors without any issues) has changed Pekiner`s approach towards miniaturized hairs because there hasn’t been any other case at his clinic. This is why I love HRN!
  10. With your budget you can get 3200 grafts at Demirsoy who will be your best option. The names you mentioned earlier are not on the same level as Demirsoy and I would never advise any of those low cost Doctors.
  11. With your budget your only safe option is Demirsoy.
  12. @Abo Leelif you are NW6 then you will require 5000-6000 grafts to rebuild your hairline and fill in the rest of the area. It`s not possible for a Doctor with real patients posting amazing results to offer you 5000-6000 grafts for your maximum budget of 4000$. If you are really on tight budget then your best option would be Dr. Demirsoy charging 1.25€/graft. He olny does 1 patient per day, does pre-made slits and has technicians do the implating. You won´t find any other Doctor at this price with so many real patient posting decent results. The only other option for a low cost surgery is to chose the nurses Esma&Serkan Tetik at 1400€ all inclusive (including hotel). They are nurses not Doctors but they are doing DHI with several good results on the Turkish forum (there`s 1 patient from these nurses with a thread at HRN). This is still a much better option than going to a hairmill like Cinik, Cosmedica, ASMED where your surgery is done by technicians that could have joined the clinic last week. I would reccomend you to save up and go to a Doctor that does the whole surgery with DHI or Stick&Place like Dr. Bruno Ferreira or HLC both charging 2.5€/graft. To have a surgery fully done by the Doctor at Eugenix costs 2.9€/graft (most expensive package) so even more expensive than HLC and Dr. BF.
  13. Totally false! I most certainly lost several of my transplanted hairs over the course of the last 12 years! @PT#31 knows me for over 15 years and can tell you that my frontal area that had 3425 grafts implanted in 2008 looked amazingly dense in 2009 and today not even 50% of the transplanted grafts have survived due to not taking Finasteride. No it’s was not due to losing my frontal native hairs because Dr. Rahal assumed the hairs I had in the frontal area would be gone in under 5 years so he rebuilt the whole frontal area.
  14. @Cristero that’s not true.Transplanted hairs may thin out over time regardless if you have family with totally bald heads. This is why people take Finasteride and it still might not prevent hairloss by 100%.
  15. I asked Dr. Pekiner and he warned me that if I don’t take Finasteride my hairloss will progress to the green zone. This is something I see also in my 68 year old uncle that lacks any hair in that area and is fully bald. Sent a email to @Dr. Bruno Ferreira to also get his opinion on the comments made by Melvin and others.
  16. @Melvin-Moderator according to Dr. Pekiner if I don’t take Finasteride I will probably lose the hair on the green area and recommends I keep taking 3mg per week.
  17. Actually Dr. Rahal said I should expect a density of 75fu/cm2 given the area I covered and the amount of grafts that were used. I never did mesured after the 12 month growth cycle to make sure because I was super happy.
  18. According to the below presentation Dr. Lorenzo gave about DUPA it states that actually it was O’Tar Norwood in 1975 that named DUPA along with the Norwood scale. He also states that Bernstein and Rassman wrote again about DUPA in 2002. Nowadays Lorenzo is the foremost authority on DUPA.
  19. HRN lost all my photos from my first HT. These are the ones still available in the Italian forum. The scar is truly perfectly made.
  20. @Cristero you are wrong because the safe area is not immune to DHT. I had FUT with one of the best Doctors in the world for FUT and I experienced hairloss in my implanted grafts that were taken from a strip located in the safe zone. Dr Lorenzo is the world authority on successful surgeries to patients with DUPA and he states it’s mandatory for them to be on Finasteride 6 months prior to their surgery exactly to strengthen the donor area and assure its not affected throughout the years. Sadly Finasteride has a high risk of nasty side effects but it’s proven that a lower dosage of 3mg/week is more than enough to stop hairloss and with this smaller dosage the chance for side effects is reduced. I’m taking Finasteride because I want to maintain my donor area (and strengthen my crown something Finasteride is know for) so that I can have enough grafts for a third surgery to rebuild the hairline and increase overall density.
  21. @helvetica first you posted saying you refuse to say the prices they charge and now you instead of just informing HRN members with whom did Esma Tetik worked with before setting up her own practice you tell us to go search for this information, if you are not a paid representative of the clinic then why all the secrecy? Luckily I’m a member of the Turkish forum and can inform all HRN members that Esma Tetik worked with Dr. Hakan Doganay during his glory days, before he was banned from HRN due to complaints from several botched patients that even accused him of re-using needles. I guess that when Esma Tetik left Dr. Doganay team his clinic took a turn for the worse which is why I’m against having tech run surgeries (when the good techs/nurses leaves the clinic all hell breaks lose and there’s no way for us patients to know if the good tech/nurse have left!). One of the Administrators of the Turkish forum “Lincoln” recently had his HT at Esma&Serkan Tetik so it goes to show how well regarded they are in Turkey despite not being Doctors. @helvetica your donor area looks clean and recipient area looks pretty decent so I expect you will have a good result. I really do hope you will keep posting your results every month for the next 12 months so that HRN finally has a real patient result from Esma&Serkan Tetik.
  22. @Egy actually Pekiner extracted 200 grafts from @PT#31 and gave him two options: 1) Abort the previously booked 3 day surgery and charge him no money (clinic loses 3 days of revenue). 2) Implant the extracted 200 grafts and charge him only those 200 grafts @PT#31 chose option 2 but he could have left without paying any money to Dr. Pekiner.
  23. @Egy the post felt odd to me but sure let’s hope it’s a real patient and see if he posts updates over the next 12 months. Maybe he doesn’t want to say the price because it’s 1400€ for Turkish nationals but then they have a separate price list for international patients (any email sent to them that is not written in Turkish). Its important to remember that Esma Tetik is a nurse and not a Doctor (the reason for the low price) but if we are choosing between a tech run surgery at Cinik or any other all inclusive hairmill and this nurses with real proven results on the Turkish forum then the choice for me is obviously Esma&Serkan (but we can’t compare them with Doctor run surgeries).
  24. @LonelyGraft you are correct Esma and Serkan Tetik are the nurses doing DHI for 1400€ all inclusive (including Hotel). I mentioned them here at HRN and I know one member contacted them asking for prices. This thread seems to be copy pasted from google translator so there’s a big chance it’s a clinic reps posing as a patient to promote Serkan&Esma at HRN.
