  1. @HTHope I ‘ve been using Sebamed Ultrasoft for sensitive hair every day since I started washing my hair and it’s great. Nizoral should be your best bet to remove dandruff and promote growth.
  2. @HTHope I’m using Sebamed ever since my HT and minoxidil every night. Considering starting to use Nizoral twice a week but that’s really powerful stuff and I’m affraid it might do more harm than good. Luckily at age 37 I still haven’t had to worry much about grey hairs.
  3. Yes indeed and now that I look at how I was 5 months ago and the fact that I only had 3895 grafts Implanted into 120cm2, I have to say that I can’t complain (but really hope it gets a lot better before the end of the growth cycle).
  4. @guestY thank you for the reminder! I just hit the 5 month mark and I finally got my first haircut. Things seem to be getting better but still a lot of ground that needs covering. I know the 120cm2 recipient area needed 6000 grafts to achieve the density I wanted of 50fu/cm2 and the 3895 grafts I had implanted with almost half comprised of single beard grafts will probably not even achieve 30fu/cm2 density so I’m not sure if the end result will provide a sufficient level of density (but I’m hoping it will). Looking forward to everyone’s comments. Thanks
  5. @experion I had no choice other than to resort to beard grafts if I wanted decent density in my crown. If I had the chance to rebuild my crown without using beard grafts I wouldn’t hesitate. Beard grafts are always single grafts not like scalp grafts that can be single, doubles, triples and quadruples so scalp grafts will always provide a more denser and natural cover. I believe beard grafts should preferably be used in conjunction with scalp grafts and only in the crown and midscalp. For people with depleted donor area beard grafts is the way to go to rebuild the crown. Dr. BF is more conservative using beard grafts than HLC or Pekiner that both do mega session of up to 1900 beard grafts in 1 day. This was the only reason why I chose Pekiner instead of Dr. BF as I really was depending on beard grafts to get more density.
  6. @experion you have to understand that you are comparing two totally different approaches/techniques. Dr. Bruno does the whole surgery himself (with nurses assisting) using a technique called DHI in which he extracts the 2500 grafts and then places each 2500 graft inside a Lion implator pen that punches the hole and implants the graft at the same. A surgeon doing this move 2500 times/grafts in one day with the correct angle and location takes time. Eugenix do a technique called DHT in which Dr. Arika first opens all the 2500 holes and only after does she call in the tech team to extract and implant the grafts in the holes she determined. They do both extracting and implantation almost at the same time meaning that the graft stays out of the body for maximum of 30m but I’m personally not fond of open holes for hours because that means they have to be wider (they start closing immediately after being open). This technique demands less from the surgeon because the techs are doing part of the surgery so more grafts can be implanted in one day. I consider DHI to be a much more advanced technique but regardless of technique what matters is the results a doctor can achieve. A bad doctor using a great technique will still get you a bad result.
  7. @Nugget with two amazing choices there’s no way to go wrong!
  8. @Panamera13 I truly hope nobody leaves this forum because I believe HRN to be all about free speach thus we can all disagree and still behave in a civilized manner towards each other and respect everyone`s opinions while making our points. Hairloss doesn`t target creed or religion so we are all on the same boat here and we should never forget that it was hairloss that brought us to this forum. Having said that I do hope people stop resorting to insults to state their points because that is just bad form. @bismarck I really like your posts regarding all subjects so I hope you willl keep me company at HRN. @CosmoKramer even though we are on opposite sides of the world and see the world differently, I really value your opinions and insights on HT`s and hairloss so hope you can tone down the politics and tone up the great HT reviews and advices.
  9. @BucuNest why are you going to a unknown Doctor with former patients like @Andrei claiming bad results? Youtube, Instagram, clinic websites are the worst place to get information on Doctors! Go to foruns to check real patient results and talk with real former patients. If it’s a matter of price you can have your HT done by a renown Doctor like Dr. Arika at Eugenix at 1.8€/graft doing a exclusive technique DHT or even cheaper with Dr. Demirsoy at 1.25€/graft ( he only operates on 1 patient per day and has some nice results on this forum). I usually advise spending a bit more and going to Dr. Bruno Ferreira that charges 2.5€/graft at his own clinc but also works with one of the best doctors in the world Dr. Jose Lorezo in Madrid. He’s doing what is considered the most advanced technique DHI and operates on just 1 patient per day. A bad doctor using a great technique will still achieve a bad result so the most important is always choosing a great Doctor (even better if he happens to use a more precise and advanced technique like DHI or stick&place).
  10. @Nugget if you are willing to take Finasteride then you should be on this drug for 6 months prior to surgery regardless which doctor you end up choosing in order to reap it’s benefits.
  11. @Nugget I expect the diagnosis you got from Dr. Bruno to be the same you would get from most major league Doctor that is not interested in our money and therefore prefers to delay your surgery in order to get a better outcome from Finasteride grafts. Doctors recommend Finasteride to stop hairloss and strengthen you donor area so if are willing to take this drug ofcourse they will want to wait 6 months to get stronger grafts and give you a better result. If you are like me and had a bad reaction to Finasteride then you should tell Dr. Bruno you refuse to take Finasteride so he can adjust his recommend approach to your specific situation. Again a very detailed diagnosis from Dr. Bruno Ferreira as usual. If beard grafts were crucial to give you more density in this first surgery then I would advise you to just go with HLC because they seem to have more experience with beard grafts but since you don’t need beard grafts for this first surgery maybe you could ask Dr. Bruno a few more questions before making a decision.
  12. Portugal has been praised by the New York Times and even Trump recently called our President congratulating him on our response that basically was a total shutdown just a 3 or 4 days after the first Covid-19 case was announced. Everything has started to open this Monday but people are not yet comfortable going inside closed outlets. Even simple folk with only primary school education are saying on TV interviews that they are aware the virus is not gone so until they get a vaccine they will wear masks and keep their distance in order to avoid catching it and passing it to someone else. Super proud right now to be Portuguese! This image is of the Portuguese President at the supermarket yesterday respecting the distancing and with a mask getting his groceries. He refused a driver and to live at the Presential Palace because he likes his life at his local neighborhood and everyone likes having him around (not a photo op he’s like this always). Humble, honest and caring folk, this is Portugal 🇵🇹
  13. @CosmoKramer Sweden was on this evening news not online websites where you can also buy coffee. But if you are keen on just believing online websites you can read the same information I saw on the Portuguese evening news also on the Financial Times or Reuters https://www.ft.com/content/46733256-5a84-4429-89e0-8cce9d4095e4 https://www.google.pt/amp/s/mobile.reuters.com/article/amp/idUSKBN22W2YC Please don’t insult people calling them morons or other names as that is in fact a troll like behavior! We can all disagree and still behave in a civilized manner.
  14. Nop Sweden have passed you guys for a while now! USA has a lot of millions of people living there so if all the states had good responses to the pandemic it would have been easier for the USA to get a low a death per capita rate than it would be for a small country with just 10 million people 58% concentrated in 2 cities (Lisbon and Porto in Portugal).
  15. USA has a population of 325 million and Sweden has 10 million to say these 2 countries have similar numbers like it’s a good thing is just unreasonable. Portugal also has 10 million people and our death toll is one freakin third of Sweden!
  16. This was recorded 20 days ago and the pandemic tends to evolve when drastic mesures are not enforced. I can share 50 day old post with you comparing Covid-19 to tge Y2K virus but that doesn’t mean that you still believe that today. Don’t think correcting misguided folk grants me troll status.
  17. I haven’t been to this thread in a while, is @CosmoKramer and @Melvin-Moderatorstill comparing the Covid-19 to the panic people had with the Y2K computer virus? and is CosmoKramer still regurgitating online conspiracy theory’s? I just read CosmoKramer saying Sweden is a example which makes me wonder if the USA news is like North Korea where they only show citizens what the government wants them to see or maybe it’s just the 1 specific TV news channel he follows... Sweden is quickly rising to become the country with the highest death rate per million and are also suffering a economic crisis for the pandemic so now their ridiculous “Killer” strategy is under scrutiny from their whole population and the world! Here in Europe we have news where the anchorman’s explain highly detailed charts and compare them with countries that were not as quick to shutdown and are now paying a hefty price like the UK, US, Spain, Italy and Brazil (where the damage is much higher than the data their sadistic government is sharing).
  18. @Nugget run like the wind! I read here that Armani sued HRN and I believe it had something to do with HRN refusing to remove their bad results from this forum.
  19. @David Jones like I said there are exceptions but it’s always odd for newly joined members to make their first post with links promoting clinics. If you want to contribute for everyone to see the quality of your Doctor then it would be really great if you could post before pictures of HT and monthly updates during the 12 month growth cycle (like all of us real patients are doing). Thanks
  20. @Nugget be careful taking advise of members that just joined the forum and immediately start posting links advertising a clinic! I have been at HRN for 12 years and see this happening all the time! These new members register a username and come here just to promote their clinic as these people are usually paid representatives of that clinic (sometimes there are exceptions).
  21. @Nugget I don’t think you can chose the Doctor at HLC but I can tell that the most sought after Doctors at HLC are Dr. Ozgur (the founder but not sure if he still does surgeries) and Dr. Akin. You will be in great hands at HLC.
  22. @Nugget you can trust HLC because they are the BEST and only choice in the whole of Turkey (Pekiner might abort your surgery if he finds miniaturized hairs). Also great to see they dropped the prices from 2.7€/graft to 2.5€/graft. I would also advise you to ask Dr. Bruno Ferreira for a diagnosis (2.5€/graft). You will talk directly with Dr. Bruno instead of representatives and it will probably be the best diagnosis you will receive. For my HT last year I talked with HLC, Pekiner, Bruno Ferreira and Rahal. The best diagnosis and follow-up I got was from Dr. Bruno Ferreira. I chose Pekiner because he’s great at beard mega sessions (much like HLC also is great for BHT because he worked there for years) and was the cheaper of these 4 options otherwise I would have went with Dr. Bruno Ferreira.
  23. @Nugget I believe Dr. Couto is fully booked for next 12 months (maybe even longer but do call to confirm and let us know). Dr. Lorenzo is delegating surgeries to the other Doctor at the clinic Dr. Bruno Ferreira. You can go directly to Dr. Bruno Ferreira own clinic in Porto and pay 2.5€/graft instead of paying 5/€graft at Dr. Lorenzo Madrid clinic and still have Dr. Bruno do your surgery.
  24. Dr. Pekiner took 8 hours to extract and implant 1061 grafts on the first day of my 3 day surgery so obviously taking the same time to implant 5000 grafts will never achieve the same dense result as you would get with a more precise extraction and implantation. I know that with motorized FUE a Doctor doing DHI or Stick&place can do 2000 grafts in 1 day but 5000 is just throwing grafts into the trash because there is no way all of them will be growing.
  25. @HTHope I do consider Eugenix technique to be inferior to stick&place and DHI but I recommend them because they are affordable, have great results and have a exclusive technique that assures grafts stay out of body for no more than 30m. You are correct in saying that pre-made slits will need to be wider because the holes will immediately start to close after being made and with pre-made slits our head can have open holes for hours before being implanted with the grafts. I had pre-made slits in my first HT and recovery was much harder than my second surgery with stick&place. You are not correct in saying I regard stick&place the best method because I actually believe DHI to be a evolution of stick&place. Pre-made slits are the weapon of choice for Doctors that have techs do the implanting. The Doctor will do the pre-slits so the technicians only have to implant. I might be wrong but I believe the reason why doctors have techs using the implantor pens after the Doctor does the pre-made slits is because with implator pens the techs don’t have to handle the graft they just need to load each implator pen with a graft place it on top of our head of where the doctor made the X/slit with the pre determined angle and push the button to implant the graft (less chance for rookie tech error). I usually recommend Dr. Arika at Eugenix for budget minded people but urge them to spend a bit more and go to Dr. Bruno Ferreira doing DHI at 2.5€/graft in Porto. He is the medical assistant of Dr. Lorenzo at his Madrid clinic but there you pay 5€/graft and it’s Dr. Bruno and Dr. Lorenzo doing the surgery. I also agree with you when you say that great doctors like H&W can outperform other Doctors regardless of their technique. It’s very important to chose a great Doctor not a great technique! It’s great when we can get both
