  1. I don’t know the difference between FUE and FUT, however I DO NOT want the scar. That’s what appealed to me about the ARTAS.
  2. Thanks everyone. As mentioned it’s been awhile. So FUT is the way to go? Any recommendations for top surgeons? I’m in Alberta, Canada. I guess my other question is I have all my hair in the front and on top, have a 4” balding patch in the back. So stands to reason I’d have to have the procedure done a few times?
  3. All, been away from the forum for a few years. Long story short, without doing a ton of research, what is the best transplant system out there? I’m just gonna suck it up and do it. Is Artas the way to go? Top surgeons that do this? TIA
  4. I've been on it for about 11 months now, with great results, so I don't really want to stop, I've been off it a week now, and I think it may be slightly better, but I'm not sure how long I should be off it for. I will consult my prescribing specialist again.
  5. I should have quantified this more, the heart exam was done before I started Minoxidil. Been researching minoxidil's effects on the heart, animal and human studies have shown that it can lead to left-ventricular hypertrophy. Anyone have any direct experience with this?
  6. All, Have been getting palpitations as of late. It seems that it is only one or two beats out of place. Had a doc check my EKG and listen for murmurs...all good. I can't remember how long I've had them but it does seem to be about as long as I've taken Minoxidil. I use 5% twice daily in generous quantities. Anyone else had similar symptoms?
  7. First off, I feel your pain... My advice, get into the Propecia/Rogaine for at least 12 months. I grew most of my hair back within 10 months. Will consider HT one day when I need it, but for now, consider the less invasive treatments. Good Luck, N
  8. All, sorry for the delay in replying (busy life). Am using liquid Rogaine Extra-Strenght. Am happy to report that I have been using Nizoral 2% twice a week, and Head and Shoulders Intensive Treatment (same active ingredient as Neutrogena T-Gel, but cheaper), and have lost any itchiness to my scalp. It slowly went away, starting with the crown, and working its way to the front. Thanks everyone for your help, feel free to PM with any questions... Nick
  9. All, Recently had a healthy son, conceived while I was on Propecia. No issues. N
  10. All, Am using Minoxidil 5% and Propecia with GREAT results, however, my scalp is constantly itchy. Anyone have any ideas on how to alleviate the itch (without stopping treatment of course)?
  11. I'm using the 5% Kirland brand as rx'ed from my doc (the 5% requires a prescription in canada). Works just fine. Its just a generic version of a brand name.
  12. Hey all, new to the forum, I have a very strong family history of baldness, grandparents, uncles, cousins, all bald in their early to mid 20's. I am now 27, at about 25, I started noticing my hair was thinning at my crown. I went to a MD specializing in baldness and he prescribed Propecia and Minoxidil 5% (extra-strenght). Well it has now been 8 months. After about 6 months, me and my wife noticed that I was not shedding hair anymore. My sink, hats, and pillow were all hair free. I can now fun my hands through my hair and pull, and no hair comes out. I recently saw the doc for the 3rd time. He showed me the before and after pictures. My hair is back!! I've easily grown back twice the hair I had before I started. I'm sold. All my bros (all younger than me), have lots most of their hair, me, you can't even tell I'm losing it. Side effects I've noticed: itchy scalp, sometimes pretty bad. I'm going to try Nizoral shampoo, hopefully that helps, but I'll take an itchy scalp over a bald one anyday. Go for it!
