  1. @Lookingforthebest yes it’s Raymond Konior in Chicago. If you want a great Doctor with no more than 6 months wait list then talk to @Dr. Bruno Ferreira he works in Madrid with Dr. Lorenzo (one of the best FUE docs) but also has his own clinic in Porto (2.5€/graft). Also look into Dr. Rafael De Freitas and Dr. Ximena Villa (2.5€/graft)
  2. I only used for my first HT with Rahal in 2008 and never touched the dammed thing after 2009 (reason why my hairloss progressed to my crown, midscalp and even lost transplanted hairs).
  3. @Cristero I also had horrible side effects that ended up with me going by ambulance to the hospital but still I took that awful pill for 18 months (6 months before surgery to 12 months after surgery). Just bite the bullet and take the pill for 18 months.
  4. @Cristero you will be in great hands with either @Dr. Bruno Ferreira, Pekiner, Freitas or Ximena.
  5. Doctors will save money from hiring techs instead of nurses (or pay extra for their Nurses to sign a non-compete) but will also have to lower prices to compete with Nurse run clinics. However, in Turkey the Nurses can perform FUE surgery and a lot of Turkish still prefer to pay extra to go to a Doctor so maybe it won’t be such a huge impact because there will always be patients looking for the best and willing to pay for it. The problem will be for those Docs that aren’t the best and thus will be forced to cut prices and operate on several patients per day to increase the daily turnover (this happens a lot in Turkey).
  6. I guess that if that bill passes a lot of nurses that got their know from top docs like Konior are going to start opening their own clinic with a lower price claiming to have the same known-how of the top Docs and possibly achieving similar results. This will probably also affect the prices currently offered by Doctors because they will need to lower it in order to avoid losing to much business to highly qualified FUE Nurses. Could also mean very few doctors will risk hiring Nurses at the risk of passing their knowledge and they opening their own clinic later on (worst for us patients that will be having surgeries with Doctors and their techs without an academic medical background).
  7. @LookingForTheBest2020 you say you want the best and then consider a marketing hype clinic claiming to use donor steam cells. My advice is stay clear. You want the best then get on the wait list for Konior or Couto and do it quickly because the wait list is over 1 year.
  8. @electronjets Dr. Bruno Ferreira removed some amazing results he posted here and I suspect it’s because he works in Madrid at Injerto Capilar which is Dr. Lorenzo’s clinic so he might not be able to promote himself. You can ask @Melvin-Moderator for his opinion on Dr. BF as I’m sure he will also tell you to go for Dr. BF instead of your Cyprus doctor.
  9. He was doing his second HT so those native hairs were already transplanted hair from the first procedure. He a had more severe shock loss the first time but I don’t remember if it was at the same level as yours because it was in 2012. You try to apply Toppik but in the front it won’t look good maybe just put it in the back. Hope it gets better asap.
  10. @Guano my close friend went to Pekiner on December 8th and he also experienced shock loss to his native hairs but check out these 4 pictures: Before, Post-Op, 6 Weeks, 10 Weeks. Hang in there my friend things are gonna should get better from week 10-14 onward. For me I thought It’s best to avoid gossip openly shared my experience but if you are uncomfortable doing that just blame your barber for the close haircut.
  11. @Melvin-Moderator Dr. Bruno Pinto became famous in Bilbao/Spain at the well known Clinica Ercilla and after he built a name for himself he returned to hometown Porto to open his own clinic that mainly caters to Spanish patients. He basically dominates the Spanish forum with patients posting results on a regular basis. The results he is achieving are on the same level as Dr De Freitas and Lorenzo. Sadly, very few know about him in Portugal because Portuguese go to clinics that pay celebrities to endorse them like CM2C and Saude Viavel. On a side note; both Bruno Pinto and Bruno Ferreira are friends with Dr. Rahal and they took out to dinner when he visited Lisbon (apparently the best like to hang together). @Pedro1982 I also live in Portugal/Lisbon and I’m sorry to hear about your bad experience with CM2C but unfortunately it’s no surprise because they are basically a Portuguese hairmill. You now seem to be well aware of one of the best in Portugal and you chose a FUE icon for your second surgery (quite an upgrade)! You should also look into Dr. BF he’s a rising star in the FUE world. The two Bruno’s are putting Portugal on the map for elite level FUE. @electronjets your list has 3 reputed Doctors @Dr. Bruno Ferreira, Bisanga and Hattingen but I would advise you to go with Dr.BF because he is the medical assistant of Dr. Lorenzo who is one of the best FUE Doctors in the world. Dr. BF also has his own clinic in Porto (2.5€/graft). Dr. Bruno Pinto is very good but he is booked until 2021 with only a few dates available in 2021 plus he is more expensive 3.5€/graft. Also, I find it strange how you think Dr. Michalis Georgiou can be compared to Dr. BF because Dr. BF is in a whole different league and some people in this forum have actually said he could be the next Konior (you are kinda like asking us to compare a VW with a Mercedes).
  12. @LookingForTheBest2020 if you indeed want the best and have a no limit budget then you should look at Konior, Feriduni and Couto.
  13. @Mjain from reading my results thread you can see that my HT experience was great and my YouTube video shows that the clinic is pretty luxurious but I’m only at 7 weeks so you will need to go check the 52 patient results at the Italian forum to reach your own conclusions (be warned that they censor bad results from most Doctor on that forum so HRN is really the best source). So far I’m very happy and the patient rep keeps checking in to see if all is going well. I wanted the Doctor doing the whole surgery with either stick&place or DHI and when I did my research I found that for mega sessions of beard grafts (+1500) the clinics getting the best results were Pekiner (2.15/graft) and HLC 2.7€/graft). I chose Pekiner for two reasons: 1. He was cheaper than HLC. 2. I didn’t knew who the doctor doing my surgery would be at HLC. If you decide on Pekiner you should be aware that he rejects patients with miniaturized hair because he feels we won’t be able to achieve the results that the patient expects. I made a complaint to his rep after this happened to my close friend and he informed me that they now ask patients to do a thricogram if they suspect the patient has miniaturized hair (so they can reject patients before they start extracting their grafts). Pekiner does have a representative that lacks customer relationships management skills when criticized and they do give a discount to use your blurred pictures however they want which some people considered a lack of ethics but he is indeed getting very good results using a highly skilled technique at a very affordable price. Mjain I would also recommend that you talk with Dr. Arika (1.8€/graft with tax) at Eugenix because they also have good results using beard grafts. They have a different approach, Dr. Arika opens all the holes at once and then she and the techs/nurses do DHT which basically means they extract the graft and immediately implant after extraction. I am not a fan of pre-made holes/slits because they start closing immediately after opening and get blood and fat accumulated that’s why I preferred stick&place in which the doctor first extracts all the grafts and after he implants them one by one opening one hole/slit at a time. The grafts stay out of the body for a longer period of time but the hole/slit is done one at a time and not all at once. Both seem like good approaches and it’s up to each person to look at the results these Doctors are achieving and make their decision based on those results. Another amazing Doctor I would advise you to contact is @Dr. Bruno Ferreira because he works in Madrid as the medical assistant of one the best FUE Doctors in the world - Jose Lorenzo but also does surgery in his own clinic in Porto/Portugal (2.5€/graft). He uses a technique called DHI (the newest that is also used by Couto, Lorenzo and De Freitas), it’s somewhat similar to stick&place because grafts are also all extracted first but then they are implanted using a Lion Implantor pen that is charged with the graft and then makes the two actions at the same time; open the hole/slit and implant the graft in one go, this reduces the trauma to the graft due to less handling of the graft to implant and to place it at a proper angle. He gave me a very detailed diagnosis and he also is experienced with beard grafts (from what I gathered he doesn’t do a lot of beard mega sessions +1500 grafts like HLC and Pekiner).
  14. @guestY I will be uploading my 2 month pictures very soon. The pain during the procedure is pretty much the same for FUT or FUE because the only pain is from the anesthesia. The difference is in the recovery because FUT has a much more painful recovery while FUE was a breeze. I could have never went back to work after 11 days of my FUT surgery but 11 days after FUE and I was almost perfect.
  15. The patient on the second link seems to have thin hair and a high norwood. I agree with @duchaine several other clinics like Pekiner would probably reject him but HLC accepted the challenge. HLC being able to achieve good results and having amazing facilities is something I don’t question. I just don’t think it’s possible to compare their results with other doctors because they post results as a clinic so I wasn’t sure what results to expect should I have chosen them.
  16. @duchaine thank you for the detailed description of HLC. We spend hours analyzing and comparing hairlines from Doctors like Konior, Keser, Feriduni, etc, and when we chose one of them we known what results to expect from what we saw from other patients results. Therefore, my question still stands, how can we compare the results of each of these doctors with the results from a surgery comprised of a mix of 6 doctors that can vary from patient to patient.
  17. It would be amazing if it was 6 equally skilled doctors. Imagine that there’s 1 doctor out of the 6 that is not the same level as the others and that was the Doctor you were getting for your surgery. There is no way of knowing who’s the best Doctor at HLC nor can we pick him if find out who he is. This was the reason why I didn’t went with HLC as they have the FUE approach I was wanted (manual FUE and stick&place) and great results with using beard grafts (also they were 30% more expensive than Pekiner). But maybe I’m wrong and having a surgery with a team of unknown Doctors at a clinic that is getting consistently great results is the best way to go.
  18. Good thing about having 6 doctors is that they can help each other out and discuss approaches. Also manual FUE is quite exhausting for the surgeon so it’s nice to have another Doctor (rested) than can take over if necessary. However, it does make it impossible to be able compare results from this type of surgery (several unknown doctors) with a specific doctor.
  19. HLC has 6 doctors and one of them will do your whole surgery without delegating tasks to techs. They use the same technique as Pekiner and Keser - manual extraction and implant using stick&place. HLC doctors are very good but you don’t know which Doctor will be doing your surgery.
  20. @Walter FUSE is nothing more than a punch that doesn’t go as deep as others and with manual FUE the depth of the punch can be controlled by the surgeon so I don’t see any huge difference between manual FUE and FUSE. Regarding, Dr. AP he was a pioneer for BHT but his results are nowhere near as natural as Eugenix that for me are the one and only option in India. if you are willing to travel I would advise you to go to @Dr. Bruno Ferreira (2.5€/graft) besides the 3 best options I advised you for Turkey.
  21. I went back to work 11 days after surgery still with a few scabs and came clean about what I did without any worries as this is a common procedure nowadays. Toppik will not be able to grab well to such short hair and it won’t look good. You don’t have any scabs so it will just look like you had a buzzed down haircut.
  22. Hang in there @Guano this is the ugly duckling phase and shedding is to be expected. I should have also started Minoxidil after 1 month but will only start tomorrow after 7 weeks.
  23. @karatekidI heard the same! @Cristero I am 7 weeks post-op and only now considering starting Minoxidil.
  24. She does have tons of great results on the Spanish forum and was Lorenzo’s medical assistant for many years (even did his HT). I’m sure if Bruno Ferreira had more patient results online it would be easier for you to make this decision.
  25. @Cristero I don’t understand how you can be undecided between those two because Ximena Villa charges the same price as Bruno Ferreira (2,5€/graft) and does surgery on two patients per day. How can you compare being able to have the Doctor focused solely on you the whole day versus a Doctor that splits her attention between two patients
