  1. @nightcrawler if someone wants low budget Turkey I have found that there is a cheaper option than Demirsoy which is olny know to Turkish people - Esma&Serkan Tetik. They have dozens of patient posting their results on the Turkish forum sacekimisonuclari.com and seem to only be catering Turkish, offering them Turkish prices 0,6€/graft. I also read that Esma does the whole surgery and they limit to 1500-2000 grafts per day using a micromotor to extract the grafts and implanting them with the DHI technique using Lion Implanter Pens. I still think it`s a safer bet to go to the TOP 3 Doctors in Turkey and avoid low cost options.
  2. @Sean thank you for your comments. Dr. Kaan patient assistant has been contacting me every week asking for updates. I had a limited scalp donor area and Dr. Kaan used it all in this surgery. I think I might still have beard grafts for a touch up. The beard grafts were also extracted manually and implanted with stick&place he said my beard is very easy to extract. Dr. Kaan does all manual FUE and I am hoping this turns out amazing even though the amount of grafts implanted will achieve only 28cm2 density due to my limited scalp donor area.
  3. @Jay13 be very careful when choosing a Doctor or clinic in Turkey because it’s the world capital of botched hair transplants. I did my research and had my second HT in Turkey but I concluded that if you don’t select one of the Doctors below then you will have a high risk of joining the botched FUE Club: 1. Dr. Kaan Pekiner charges 2.15€/graft, 1 patient per day, does the whole surgery himself with manual FUE so he is limited to 1200 grafts per day and uses stick&place to implant. Has experience doing mega sessions using beard grafts. 2. Dr. Keser charges 3.5€/graft has just 1 patient per day and does the whole surgery himself with manual FUE but he uses his own punch that limits him to 600 grafts per day. Implants also with stick&place. He is focused on dense hairlines. 3. HLC Ankara is the best and only clinic one should consider in Turkey. They charge 2.7€/graft and also perform manual FUE with the Doctor doing the whole surgery but because it’s a Clinic they don’t tell us which of the clinic’s Doctor will be doing the surgery. Have a lot of experience doing mega sessions with beard grafts. Follow @duchaine advice and check other countries. Like Porto/Portugal that has @Dr. Bruno Ferreira. He charges 2.5€/graft and also only has 1 patient per day but uses DHI with Lion Implanter Pens (the most recent FUE technique). He also works in Madrid at Dr. Jose Lorenzo clinic (one of the best in the world charging 5€/graft). If you don’t care about price then go to Dr. Raymond Konior (8US/graft and 2 year wait list) or Dr. Juan Couto (5€/graft and 2 year wait list). If you need any further information feel free to PM me.
  4. @kmgrafix DUPA is a condition that can worsen over time and will affect the outcome of the surgery. A patient with DUPA will not achieve the same results as a patient without DUPA. For this reason several Doctors may refuse to operate because they either feel they don’t have the know-how to satisfy their patient or don’t want to risk getting a bad result and damage their reputation. So to answer your question I do think that if the Doctor feels he is not equipped to provide a good result to a DUPA patient then the ethical thing to do is to not proceed with the surgery and referring the patient to a Doctor that is more equipped to treat patients with this condition (this is a standard practice with Doctors in all medical fields). You can see in the link below how Dr. Jose Lorenzo approaches patients with this condition:
  5. @golf54 check out my crown restoration with Dr. Kaan Pekiner. I think he drew a perfect vertex and managed to increase the density of this HT using beard grafts because my scalp donor was limited to just 2000 grafts. Only time will tell if this will be a good result because I am just 18 days post-op.
  6. @Gasthoerer I was actually quoting what @Kaya told me but I think its really difficult to criticize Keser`s work. Have you see any result from Keser that are not amazing?
  7. @karatekid I know you said you crossed out Turkey but you really should talk with @Kaya because he had a smiliar hairloss to yours and had two HT with Dr. Keser. For your situation Dr. Keser would be one of my top choices because he specializes in hairlines does max 600 grafts and one patient a day. He has his own punch (designed by himself) which cuts through with one move and increases the survival chance of the grafts. This kind of boutique treatment comes with the price which makes him the most expensive HT doctor in Turkey at 3.5€/graft. Kaya is from LA and was also looking for the best of the best so he was considering Dr. Konior (8US/graft) but he`s super happy he went all the way to Turkey to Dr. Keser (twice). Check his results:
  8. @karatekid both Bruno Pinto and @Dr. Bruno Ferreira are located in Porto / Portugal not Spain. Dr. Bruno Ferreira also works in Madrid at Dr. Jose Lorenzo clinic but that amazing clinic charges 5€graft. I believe Dr. De Freitas has truly great results but be prepared for a long wait list and similar price to Lorenzo. You are not being petty, research as much as you can before booking the surgery!
  9. @Egy reading about your experience gave me chills. I do hope your second surgery with Dr. Cinik will help you recover from the first one with Dr. Ziya Yavuz. Wish you all the best my friend!
  10. Brilliant post @paddyirishman What matters is chosing a surgeon that has great results posted by actual patients and several of these surgeons are in fact charging very affordable prices. I have found that there are even some Doctors charging less than they what their results are worth (@Dr. Bruno Ferreira Dr. Kaan Pekiner, and Dr. Arika). None of the surgeons I mentioned above are charging 1.25€/graft and I would think twice before going to a doctor charging this price, unless it`s Demirsoy. He does charge 1.25€graft and has some decent results in this forum (but he has techs doing part of the surgery which is a no-go for me).
  11. @gemini if you are having concerns about having your surgery in far away Turkey I would advise you to talk with @Dr. Bruno Ferreira. He is the medical assistant of one the best FUE Docs in the world, Dr. Jose Lorenzo in Madrid, known for accepting to operate tuff cases of patients with DUPA. Dr. Bruno also does surgeries in his own clinic in Porto (direct 8h flight from Newark Airport). In Portugal everyone speaks English, TV is in English with subtitles and we have Uber so you will feel right at home. Dr. Bruno charges 2.5€/graft at his clinic and does the whole surgery using the DHI technique with Lion Implantor Pens. One of my best friends went to Dr.Bruno yesterday after a aborted surgery in Turkey due to miniaturized hairs. Dr. Bruno said he believes he will achieve a decent result with two surgeries. My friend is now booking these two surgeries for this year. If you want to go to Asia for your surgery I would advise Dr. Kongkiat Laorwong in Bangkok. He also does the whole surgery himself with DHI - Lion Implantor Pen and has several great results in this forum. He charges 2.6€/graft.
  12. @happyandsad I can tell you that @Egy didn’t have a “bad result” Egy had a botched surgery that had to be repaired by another Doctor. Even the world best doctors have had bad results but a Doctor that was responsible for a botched surgery that had to be repaired is someone that I would never recommend. Egy is doing @gemini and everyone else in this forum a great service by alerting us about this Doctor. Thanks Egy
  13. @happyandsad what @Egy wrote is 100% true! @gemini if you want a decent hair transplant in Turkey go to a doctor with great patient results and one that is doing the whole surgery himself without relying on tech teams. Keser at 3.5€/graft is great for hairlines and small surgeries like the 2000 graft surgery you need so if you can afford him don’t think twice and book him (check some of his hairline results here at HRN and you will be blown away). Pekiner at 2.15€/graft is overall great and amazing with BHT. HLC Ankara at 2.7€/graft is the best clinic in Turkey with a lot of experience on BHT. If want to go cheap and don’t mind techs doing some of the surgery then Demirsoy at 1.25€/graft is a option because he does have some decent results on HRN.
  14. Hi Pip, I had 1888 beard grafts to the crown and so far so good. Any news? Did have your BHT with Bisanga?
  15. 16 Days Post-Op and my FUT scar perfectly made by Dr. Rahal is almost un-noticeable and the scabs are finally gone! A bit redish on my lower scalp from scratching.
  16. @duchaine it’s thin hair (sorry). @Abi28 you are quite right Dr. Kaan might have been looking out for my friend Goncalo because he believed the results would not have been great. Dr. Kaan did use a 0.9mm punch but @Dr. Bruno Ferreira said it looked bigger than 0.9mm and that he usually uses slightly smaller punches (0.8mm-0.85mm). Not sure if this is relevant though because what matters are the results and Dr. Kaan is achieving pretty awesome results. I support Abi28 claim that a Doctor can reject a patient if he believes he will get a bad result and also Duchaine claim that maybe we should do a thricogram before doing a HT to be sure we are a decent candidate. Let’s see what happens 1 year after my friend surgery with Dr. Bruno and I’m hoping he gets a good result.
  17. @duchaine my friend Goncalo had his appointment today with @Dr. Bruno Ferreira Dr. Bruno analyzed his hair under the microscope and said that my friend`s miniturized hairs are not impeditive of him having a hair transplant and that he has treated many patients with DUPA so he can safely confirm that Goncalo does not have DUPA Dr. Bruno measured a total area of 226cm2 to implant and believes that it will be difficult to achieve a good density because my friend has very thin hair. Dr. Bruno reccomended Goncalo to have two surgeries the first with 3500 grafts and the second with 3000/3500. Regarding the beard, Dr. Bruno said that its darker and thicker with a tendency to curl so he won`t use any beard grafts. The only comments Dr. Bruno made about the 270 grafts implanted by Dr. Pekiner was that the punch size he used seemed a bit too big and that he doesn`t understand why the surgery was stopped. Goncalo is now booking his two hair transplant surgeries with Dr. Bruno Ferreira. So far I am very happy with my surgery experience and the 16 day results from Dr. Kaan Pekiner but after the feedback from Dr. Bruno Ferreira, I am inclined to agree with you that Dr. Kaan seems to be filtering his patients so he only does surgery on patients he believes will achieve amazing results. I do feel somewhat responsible for Goncalo because I advised him Dr. Pekiner but in fact this Doctor does achieve amazing results and is very affordable for a Doctor that only has 1 patient per day and does the whole surgery (both myself and my other friend Ricardo that also had a HT in December are very happy so far). I advised Goncalo to ask a second opinion to Dr. Bruno Ferreira because he works with the foremost authority for DUPA - Dr. Jose Lorenzo as you can see from Dr. Lorenzo presentation on the link below: Hope my comment has helped you @duchaine and I also hope you can have the same feedback when you ask for a second opinion. I do reccomend that you to chose the Doctor you will ask this second opinion very wisely.
  18. @Rolandas after the surgery you should really create a results thread and the title should have the doctor name, number grafts and date.
  19. @Jijypuru the Spanish forum has results from the other Portuguese doctor Bruno Pinto (3,5€/graft and fully booked until 2021) and Dra. Ximena Villa in Madrid (2.5€/graft). @Dr. Bruno Ferreira to my knowledge only has patient results in this forum but I could be wrong.
  20. @RonBurgundy there are at least two threads here about HLC Ankara but the Italian forum has 32 results threads for HLC and 52 for Pekiner.
  21. @tj2014 if you want do do small amount of grafts in Turkey I strongly advise you to go to Dr. Keser as he is the best for hairlines and likes to focus on highly detailed small surgeries. He can achieve amazing results using much less grafts but is expensive (3.5€/graft). Check this user that had a touch up surgery of 400 grafts with Dr.Keser
  22. Hi @Noel I have to admit that @Gasthoerer and @1978matt are right, Turkey has thousands of HT Clinics some people call “Turkish Hairmills” and from what I found from my research, in the whole of Turkey there are only 3 Doctors doing the whole surgery themselves with a lot of patients posting amazing results: Keser (3,5€/graft), Kaan (2.15€/graft) and HLC Ankara (2.7€/graft). Keser seemed to be more focused on small surgeries and perfectly designed hairlines using very few grafts to achieve mind blowing results but he was out of my budget. HLC Ankara is the best clinic in Turkey they have a steady flow of great results with FUE and BHT but you don’t know which Doctors is doing the surgery and they have several doctors. Also, their top Doctor, Akin, seems to be MIA since August and Dr. Ozgur is not doing surgeries. Dr. Kaan also has a lot of great results (most of them on the Italian forum just like HLC). He gained his experience from working with Keser and HLC (mostly HLC) and charged me less, so no brainer, I went with him. If I was on a very tight budget I might have went with Dr. Demirsoy (1.25€/graft) or Dr. Arika at Eugenix (this month prices went up from 1.3€/graft to 1.8€/graft with tax) but both these Doctors have a different approach (not the Doctor doing the whole surgery nor do they perform DHI or stick&place). However, what matters is the results the Doctor can achieve and these two are getting good results. Dr. Arika and Dr. Sethi at Eugenix are regarded as the world’s best for FUE mega sessions. Check @paddyirishman results thread about his great experience with Eugenix. I advise you to research here and on the other forums Spanish, Italian and Turkish Feel free to PM me if you want more information.
  23. @Martins17 following up on what I told you regarding Dra Fatima Garces that still uses the Artas Robot (a machine that is responsible for many terrible results on this forum) there is now a class action lawsuit against the company that made this device. I would stay clear of any clinic using Artas.
  24. @Macca1972 I researched Turkey extensively before booking my surgery with Dr. Kaan Pekiner. I asked for many quotes to Doctors and clinics where the doctor does the whole surgery: HLC Ankara (2.7€/graft), Keser (3.5€/graft) and Pekiner (2.15€/graft€). That being said, Dr. Arika and Dr. Sethi at Eugenix are regarded as the world’s best for FUE mega sessions so anyone with a bald NW6 or more should really consider them as the top choice. Check @paddyirishman results thread about his great experience with Eugenix. @1978matt and @Melvin-Moderator do you know the prices Laorwong and Path are charging per graft? Even though the Italian forum seems to censor I would still advise @Macca1972 to to do his research here and on the other Spanish, Italian and Turkish forums. Feel free to PM me if you want more information. Cheers!
  25. @duchaine you are right he probably does take on average 2 days for each surgery so he is probably doing around 100-150 patients per year but I’m sure he’s not rejecting 30-40%. 50% of Dr. Kaan’s patients are Italian (so told me his English speaking rep that is also Italian) and as you know very few Italians speak English or come to this English forum (they go to the Italian forum were I also went to see Kaan’s results). The other 50% still comprise of many Turkish that are posting in the Turkish forum sacekimisonuclari. I have read about you and @lixinfu and know about my friend Goncalo but no other user in any other forum is claiming to have also had this experience with Kaan (surely there will be more but not 30%). I have told the Patient Assistant at Dr. Kaan office that maybe besides requesting us to bring the blood work they should also ask patients to do a thricogram so that they are sure they are a good HT candidate before getting on a plane. Maybe everyone should do this exam because if the result is ok we should expect a good HT result and if it tells us that the grafts are not great then we know not to expect a great HT result or worst, we are not a suitable candidate for HT. Just a thought...
