  1. Paddy I am not arguing the quality of Eugenix results nor the ethics of their reputed Doctors I am simply trying to confirm the veracity of their claims regarding the technique that is used during surgery. Did they tell you you were having Direct Hair Transplantation? If so, did they used a implator pen to open each hole and insert the graft at the same time the hole was opened? Just asking because this is DHT technique and if this is not the technique you had during your surgery then you didn’t have DHT. Your results and other Eugenix patient results can be the best in the world but a clinic can’t claim to be doing a technique and then fail to provide said technique to their patients. I am interested because for the past 12 years since my first HT with Dr. Rahal I have been giving advice to a lot of friends in the same situation and I pride myself on giving informed advise. Just last month 2 friends of mine went to Dr. Pekiner based on my advice and now I was telling another friend on a very tight budget that there could be a cheaper option in India with Eugenix with the same “Doc does everything” approach and the added bonus of DHT. Sadly, today I found the price is actually almost the same as Dr. Pekiner and now I find Eugenix might be falsely claiming to do DHT. Would really appreciate your input since you recently had surgery at Eugenix and could shed some light on the matter. As for your question regarding my comments on DHT, DHI, Implanter pens and other recent methods of FUE I can only say that I will continue to come to this forum to get information on these matters and share all the information I collect from talking with you and other members as well as the Doctors and patient advisors (hope that’s ok).
  2. Direct Hair Transplantation and Direct Hair Implantation is the same. It means the Doctor implants each graft at the same time the channel is open because they are using a implantor Pen loaded with the graft that will make the puncture and implant the graft at the same time. If Eugenix is opening all the channels at once and only afterwards implanting all the grafts in one go then they are not providing DHT nor DHI. This is very serious because it would mean that Eugenix are making false claims on their website and therefore defrauding patients. I do hope this is not the cause and would ask @Melvin-Moderator to look into this. if they are indeed doing DHI/DHT then their price of 1,98US/graft starts making a bit more sense (if the whole surgery would actually be done by Dr. Arika).
  3. Direct Hair Transplantation uses a pen-like hollow needle, known as the Lion implantation pen. The pen combines the two stages. After loading the pen with grafted hair, it will then create channels and implant hair follicles by loading them as it makes the incisions. The Spanish doctors made the Lion pen very famous but there others like the Choi Implantor Pen. If Eugenix is opening all the holes before implanting the graft, then it’s not DHI or Stick&Place.
  4. H&W get awesome results from FUT (probably the best in the world) they are not on the same level for FUE (Spanish Doctors have them beat and they all use Lion Implanter Pens). Are you sure H&W open all the slits at once and only afterwards proceed with implanting all grafts instead of doing stick&place or direct hair implantation with implantor pens?
  5. I chose Dr. Kaan Pekiner because he has many great results at Bellicapelli forum from beard and chest hair mega sessions. I sent pictures of my chest hair but Dr. Pekiner said it wasn’t viable for BHT. HLC Ankara also has great results for BHT grafts but you don’t know which Doctor will be doing your surgery and the best one, Dr. Akin left in August (they say he’s on holiday but it’s not true). With Dr. Akin leaving HLC I don’t recomend any other Doctor for BHT in Turkey other than Dr. Kaan Pekiner. You can check my results thread to see the 1888 beard grafts he extracted.
  6. Dr. Kaan Pekiner is not yet using the Lion Implanter Pen he uses Stick&Place technique which means he opens the slit and places the graft manually. He says this allows him to get a better feeling of the depth of the hole and the angle of the graft. I timed him and he took 10 seconds to open a hole and implant a graft which is more than with the Implanter Pen but nothing like the Neandertal age FUE surgery we are discussing here in which they open up to 4000 holes leaving them drenched in blood and then the techs come in to implant the grafts. Obviously this type of outdated surgery needs to priced much cheaper but Dr. Arika costs 1.97US/graft and Dr Kaan 2.15€/graft so I wonder why anyone would consider Dr. Arika.
  7. Dr. Bhatti and Dr. Demirsoy have the same method, they make all the slits and all the holes stay open for hours drenching in blood while the technicians implant each graft into the open holes (Demirsoy does up to 4000 grafts per day so a lot of open holes). Dr. Demirsoy charges 1.25€/graft and Dr. Bhatti charges 1.67US/graft with tax. Dr. Arika charges for 1.97US/graft with tax but I am not sure she only does 1 patient per day and the surgery description says she only does crucial slits so it looks like a tech run surgery. These are indeed the cheapest Doctors doing just 1 patient per day but I would never chose this kind of FUE method! I would just save up and go with a Doctor doing the whole the surgery so that every slit that is open is immediately implanted with a graft by the Doctor with the help of techs (not the other way around). These kind of Doctors don’t do more than 2000 grafts per day because it’s just not possible to do more when it’s Doctor doing the whole surgery. Dr. Bruno Ferreira and Dr. Ximena Villa both use the Lion Implanter Pen, this device basically opens the hole and implants the hair graft at the same time. If FUE has evolved to Implanter Pens that eliminated the time the holes were open without grafts implanted I have to wonder why people are going to Doctors that still open all the holes for techs to implant? Maybe these people are unaware that this affects the graft survival rate and that’s the reason why these clinics need to take more grafts to do the same work that Doctors I mentioned before can do with much less grafts.
  8. Don’t understand how anyone would consider Eugenix because not even the most expensive package assures the Dr will do the whole surgery and now costs almost 3€/graft with tax. Dr. Pekiner has much better hairline results than Eugenix does the whole surgery and charges 2.15€/graft. Dr. Ximena Villa and Dr. Bruno Ferreira also have better results and charge 2.5€/graft.
  9. Pauls, I understand you want the best outcome possible for the least amount of money. I was on the same boat as you but I saved a bit more so I could afford a Doctor that does the whole surgery himself and has great results posted by patients. My shortlist was: Dr. Kaan Pekiner (2.15€/graft), Dr. Ximena Villa (2,5€/graft) and Dr. Bruno Ferreira (2,5€/graft). My advice is for you to save up and pick one of these 3 rising stars Doctors. Dr. Acar and Dr. Cinik are low cost Turkish hairmills in which your results will depend on the underpaid tech team that will do your hair transplant. The mere fact that they provide all inclusive transplant with no limit graft should make any reasonable person run away as fast as they can. There will always be someone else giving you a cheaper price but I am unaware of any other Doctor doing the whole surgery himself with tons of great patient’s results that is charging less.
  10. Yes ofcourse. You are only shaved at the clinic. Don’t shave before going to the clinic. I maintain my advise of letting Dr. Kaan shave your head to facilitate the surgery and assure the best possible results.
  11. Duchaine I highly recommend shaving your head as it will facilitate Dr. Kaan’s work and remember he is doing the whole procedure himself so you want him to make it as easy as possible for him if you want the best result possible.
  12. Dr. Abhinav, you started of by saying “that’s not the right way of choosing doctors” but then inform “according to ISHRS guidelines extractions should be done by doctor.” Therefore I don’t understand why you said that my suggestion of choosing a Doctor that does the entire surgery and has a lot of patients posting results to prove his long years of experience is not the right way to chose the Doctor. Should we be looking for a Doctor with good technicians instead? but how do we The Patients, know which Doctor is currently working with a good tech team? As a patient I can only directly compare results from Doctors that perform the entire surgery because I know I can get a similar result if I chose these doctors as they don’t rely on techs to achieve their results. Doctors that use techs can have good results in one year and bad results the year after simply because they lost a good technician and the new tech is not on the same level. We have a saying in my country “Good help is hard to find and even harder to keep”. I understand that for a Doctor it’s very demanding to be a part of the whole surgery and a tech team allows a Doctor to have more patients per day thus doubling, tripling or quadrupling their clinic daily turnover. This is the reason why many Doctors start off doing the whole surgery to establish a name for themselves and then switch to tech teams to quadruple their daily turnover (ex: Dr. Acar at Cosmedica Turkey).
  13. Even Dr.Rahal has bad results on this forum. I always advise choosing a Doctor that does the entire surgery himself and only has 1 patient per day at his clinic (no techs implanting or extracting!). I ended up with a short list of 3 doctors Dr. Bruno Ferreira (2.5€/graft), Dr. Ximena Villa (2,5€/graft results ) and Dr. Kaan Pekiner (2.15€/graft results) These are 3 rising stars Doctors out to make a name for themselves. I chose Dr. Kaan because he had the most experience with beard mega sessions.
  14. KarateKid I would advise you to go with Dr. Bruno Ferreira (2,5€/graft), Dr. Ximena Villa (2,5€/graft) or Dr. Kaan Pekiner (2.15€/graft). Dr.Ximena has dozen of results on recuperartupelo.com, Dt.Bruno is now posting results in this forum and Dr. Kaan has dozens of patient results at Bellicapelli.forumfree.it These are the 3 rising stars in the world of FUE and you won’t find any other Doctor performing the whole surgery with just 1 patient per day at this price point. I went with Dr. Kaan Pekiner and I can tell you that in Turkey it’s either him, Keser and HLC Ankara (would not recommend anyone else). Check out my video of the clinic in my results thread. My friend Gonçalo also went to Dr. Kaan last month but the Dr stopped the surgery because the grafts were miniaturized and Dr. Kaan didn’t want to take his money to then have him get a bad result due to hairs becoming increasingly more minituarized over time. This is a very ethical Doctor that takes pride in his work and will give you a great hairline if he accepts you as a patient.
  15. Dr. Kaan Pekiner took 1888 grafts from my beard to add density to the crown and midscalp where he placed 2000 grafts from my head. After 5 days my beard donor area was great. Not sure if I have more donor area in my beard but it would be great if I did as I only manage to get 30cm2 density from this surgery to my 140cm2 recipient area. If it wasn’t for my beard I would have just had 2007 grafts instead of 3895 implanted into a massive area.
  16. Please save your money and have your transplant done by a doctor doing the entire surgery with great results posted on this forum. Stay away from these clinics were the surgery is done by a team of technicians that were waiters last month and this month are implanting hairs. Dra. Fatima Garces is still using the Artas Robot which was responsible for many terrible results in this forum (search here Artas Robot). Dr. Rahal and every other good doctor have stopped using Artas many years ago so my advise is to run away from Dra.Fatima and any other clinic still using the Artas Robot. I have a Doctor friend from Egas Moniz that went to C2MC because he knew the Doctor there but he ended up having his surgery performed by a tech from Senegal. He now regrets not going to Dr. Kaan Pekiner like I did. In Portugal there are only 2 doctors doing world class hair transplants: Dr Bruno Pinto (fully booked until 2021 and only some dates available in 2021) and Dr. Bruno Ferreira (2,5€/graft). If you want to have a hair transplant in Portugal and be 100% sure you will get great results then you have to book one of these two doctors! There’s a reason why these two doctors are more expensive and are fully booked - you don’t go to discounted clinics to have techs with little knowledge or a Robot operate on you, this is a permanent surgery!
  17. Day 5 and I finally shaved my beard donor area. Still looks a bit red but one would never guess I had 1888 grafts extracted from here last Saturday.
  18. Dr Bruno Ferreira in Portugal does DHI with Lion Implanter at 2.5€/graft.
  19. Hi Guesty I had a surgery with Dr. Kaan Pekiner last week and he took 1888 grafts from my beard. Check my post: The new clinic is super luxurious and the 5 star Hotel across the street is great and super cheap (45€/night).
  20. Still waiting for the results but so far so good. Thanks Drew. Are your results from Dr. Kaan also posted here? Are you happy with the result? I chose Dr. Kaan because I needed to extract 2000 grafts from the beard to get more density in my bald crown and Kaan is the King of beard mega sessions. He managed to get 1888 grafts from my beard. If I didn’t need a beard mega session I would have stayed in Portugal and went to Dr. Bruno Ferreira (he gave the best diagnosis I have ever received).
  21. I rather reccomend a star doctor in the making because well known star Doctors like Jose Lorenzo have long wait lists and charge a premium price due their notoriety. I’m certain that Dr. Bruno, Dr. Ximena and Dr. Kaan will provide a equal result to Dr. Lorenzo at almost half the price (for now as their price will surely increase).
  22. Uncle Drew, Dr Bruno Ferreira is Dr. Jose Lorenzo current medical assistant at his Madrid clinic and Ximena Villa was the previous medical assistant (nice coincidence hey)
  23. Clark my advise is go to a Doctor with a steady flow of great results that does the whole procedure himself. In the whole of Turkey there are only 2 Doctors that tick those boxes, Dr. Kaan Pekiner (2.15€/graft) and Dr. Kesser. Run as fast as you can from all the Turkish low cost and all inclusive hair mills with techs doing all the work because your results will depend on the techs doing your surgery and most of them are getting paid minimum wage 300bucks/month (some clinics even hire Siryan refugees and paid them even less than minimum wage). Some people will tell you to go to Asmed (Dr. Koray Erdogan) but this clinic is also tech run, at most the Doctor will shake your hand if he’s there on the day of your surgery. Though they are known to have good techs. In Europe you won’t find any world class doctors with a better price than Dr. Ximena Villa (2,5€/graft) and Dr. Bruno Ferreira (2,5€/graft). You can check Dr. Ximena’s many results on the spanish forum recuperartupelo.com and Dr. Bruno Ferreira is now posting results in this forum
  24. England and Scotland are different countries with very different people but they are both part of the United Kingdom and have the same language (with different accents). Spain and Portugal are not only different countries with totally different languages but Spain still has a monarchy and Portugal has a Republic. My advice if you decide to travel to Europe is to avoid saying this at a Bar because if there are Scots listening you will get a black eye (watch Mel Gibson’s “Braveheart” to understand why) if there’s a Spanish he will shout at you relentlessly and if there’s a Portuguese he will probably buy you a beer and try to enlighten you. Dr. Bruno has his own clinic in Portugal where Rolandas has his surgery booked.
