  1. You have a second. (sticky means it stays at the top of the forum category) mrNoKnowledge - I had a HT two weeks ago and i'm still bald, not only that but the grafts that were put in have fallen out! I think i've been had! HT's are crap
  2. I was concerned at first, but when i found out that techs have been doing many of the extractions in Madrid, i realised that this is not a new development, and many of the result i saw and was wowed by had the grafts extracted by techs, which allayed my concerns. I've seen only one case from Dr Lorenzo that didn't get excellent growth. One patient got poor growth on left side of hairline, eveywhere else was excellent, but Dr Lorenzo offered him a free touch up, and he then got a full result...but out of the many results posted online and including the spanish forums, patient blogs included, it's an impressive amount of home runs. And as said above, tech do all the implanting in strip, so both procedures techs do a good amount of the work anyway. What impressed me was a case Dr Lorenzo did on a guy with the thinnest hair, was like 30 microns, this guy got a great yield, and this is with thin delicate fine hair, that sealed it for me, my hair is fine, but thicker than that, and if he can get that guy a great yield i'd be easy in comparison.
  3. Your 8 months photos are impressive, goes to show the illusion of density that happens with HT's, but you need to let the hair grow for it to work.
  4. Something tells me some posters wouldn't be happy with any result if it came from Dr Feller. This is a solid result, and as the patient said he wanted a HT to frame his face and Dr Feller only managed to get 1600 grafts, he focused it all on the hairline. You can see from the pre op photo where the hairline is drawn that it would be thin behind the hairline as no grafts were put there, that's obvious, but why miss an opportunity to have a dig at Dr Feller eh? Some of you guys are like flies round poo where Dr Feller is concerned, why? cos his opinion doesn't match yours on FUE, so you follow him around the forum making disparaging remarks about his HT results. That does not reflect well on you at all. Great result for 1600 grafts. I also agree that not naming the Dr who did your FUE is doing a disservice to others, why protect a doctor that took your money and left your heed a mess?
  5. I have got a reply from Pilar Lorenzo. "You asked me in the last email about extractions, Dr. Lorenzo and Dr. Vila carry out their procedures according to their daily work. They do 100% of the graft placement with the implanters, but they have some help with the extractions. The videos displayed in our website have been done in the same way, before, during and after Dr. Lorenzo stay in UK.In England, Dr. Lorenzo made many repairs cases that required his full attention. All cases are different, some are technically easy, some others not as easy. You know that repair cases and advanced alopecia are the challenges of this team. Be assured that Dr. Lorenzo is behind each patient, you have many new cases in your forum that prove it."
  6. I really wouldn't get a transplant if i was you, you have great hair, and most people's hairlines are not perfect, but yours is a lot more perfect than most people getting HT's. Take your pill and pat yourself on the back that you caught your hairloss early enough for people not to even consider you balding.
  7. NW2 should hold of on surgery imo, unless they are older or know that their future hairloss is no more than a NW4. You should also be on propecia, as you don't want to have temples and hairline with all the hair behind it gone, looks odd. Dr Feller is a great doc, i know from personal experience, but he gets a lot of vindictiveness on here from some people because of his unpopluar views on FUE.
  8. Blimey you got a good result. Nice vid, you come across well. Did you get much piss taking from your fellow brickies? Better than the baldy jibes though i'm sure.
  9. Looks good, Dr Ron does hairlines exceptionally well. Nice appropiate hairline as well, leaving plenty of grafts in the bank should you ever need another one. I think your main problem back at work won't be hiding the transplant as such, more the redness you will get in the recipient, sometimes takes a couple of months to fade, but it's easilly explained away as sunburn, or psorisis flare up etc. I found that after three days i didn't need the pain meds, could have quit after two really but they were helpful for getting to sleep, as i slept on my back, which normally i don't.
  10. I just looked up Mcfadden, he had a really good result from the look of the photos. Picture said his Ht was done by Dr Harald Eberson, at same clinic that Stokes and Griffiths went too
  11. To be honest the herbal supplement will likely do nothing for your hairloss, propecia is the best drug you can take, it works. 3k grafts plus i'd say, but your hair thickness and quality of donor, as well as your likely end point in terms of hair loss (what NW you end up) are all important, espeically if you want a HT but won't take propecia, as any doctor worth his salt will take in to consideration your future loss and plan accordingly.
  12. Last time i saw a pic of Mcfadden he was shaved bald. Unless he's had a plant since. Steven Fletcher had a transplant as well, his looks pretty good, but you never know if they are wearing concealer as well like Rooney.
  13. Personally i wouldn't go HT. You actually have a great hairline, a tad receeded, but not much. Most people would not even consider you balding. I don't know how much it bothers you, but at 27 now, what about 37, would you be happy with your hair now at 37? what about 47 years old? If it really bothers you, then of course you could get a HT and lower the hairline and fill in the corners, but then you are commited to another HT if you lose more hair, or go off propecia for any reason. Why do you want the hairline lower? You want to look younger? look like someone else who has NW1 hair? or you maybe you just hate any sign of hairloss?
  14. Yeah that seems like quite a long day, but at least you know they are not rushing! As long as the native hair is in good shape, and not too weakend by miniturisation, then should be fine. I look forward to see your month 1 pics. PS Did you stay in the hotel they book you in? or did you make your own plans? What was the hotel like? decent? did you see much of Madrid, or was you in and out and back to the states superquick?
  15. Hey Peaboddy, I remember you from HLT, your transplant does look very good, but i can see what you mean. To me the hairs on the side/temple stick out a little as being too thick, although the front bit probably only looks a little thinner when wet, dry not so much but there is a little area of scalp that could do with some extra hairs. You have quite thick hair characteristics, which is great for density and coverage, but makes it harder to look as natural in the hairline as a guy like me with finer hair, although i have the opposite problem, and need to use more grafts to get the density you have. I don't think you would need many grafts at all, 500/800 is my uneducated guess, best to do a few online consults. Personally i'm booked in with Dr Lorenzo for FUE in January, from my research he's one of the best, if not the best, as to my mind he has brought the only recent new advances in FUE with his techniques/tricks for extracting grafts and set a standard of consistent yield comparable with strip. I don't see any reason why thinner and softer looking hairs from your donor can't be used to soften the hairline, as long as they exist in your donor, as i notice some people have different microns/size hair thickness along their donor, ...Failing that i've seen people using nape hair, not ideal but could be a potential option failing any better ones.
  16. The work from your pictures looks nice and clean, what time did your op start? How many hours did it take to extract and implant 2000 grafts? At least we know for sure that tech do the extractions, although i read that they always did in Madrid, only when Dr Lorenzo did a year stint at Farjo medical did he do the extractions himself.
  17. Surgery tomorrow then. You make a good choice, i have seen so many excellent results from Dr R Shipiro. If you don't shave down you should be okay for concelears to do there job 4 weeks later. Grow well Esrec, the most painful thing will be the injections, but really the hardest thing is the waiting.
  18. The pricing for each clinic/Dr is always on their website, no secret about it, i just think people focus on the transplant itself more than the money side.
  19. I like the look of this procedure as an alternative between strip and FUE, especially for finer haired people like myself, that's what worries me about FUE having fine hair and the grafts being damaged and put under more stress. Looking forward to seeing more results, and following her progress. all looks good so far.
  20. If you've had only one strip, then that should not discount you having another, unless your donor laxity is poor or used up. Did you have a big mega session?. Were the docs you consulted FUE only docs? If you go to Turkey make sure you find previous happy clients, you don't want to go in blind and hope it will work out, although i hear there are good docs out there.
  21. Personally i think a patient having 3000 grafts plus should be recommended to go the strip route, unless a patient 100% can't handle the strip scar, yes FUE scarring is preferable, but the majority of patients who have strip, scar well, unless they are an unlucky minority, and/or if you go to a butcher of a HT doctor and he mangles the back of your head. The worry of the strip scar is if you decide to go bald and shave down, but you can have FUE in to the scar, and i have seen many good post op pics of this making the strip scar blend with the stubble. Obviously it's down to the patient to weigh up the pros and cons of each procedure. I am happy to see that FUE has improved, and bigger sessions are now possible, but if you are commited to HT and a another one later on, and you do not need to cut the back of the hair down beyond a grade 3, then strip still makes the most sense to me.
  22. Got to say i thought WTF when i read that. To me your post op instructions seemed a bit odd, wash your hair three times a day? Why? - I know you can press on the recipient area a little, but not hard, and derma roller on recipient, ah er. Do you have any new photos Jug?
  23. Makes a real difference, and shows how if you utilize the hair and have a plan of action with a hairstyle to benefit the illusion of density you can go from bald, to age appropriate balding. You have the same type of hair characteristic as me. Focusing on the front was a smart move, looks great.
  24. Yep, stablize your hairloss on fin first. Minox is very good regrowth drug too, but no point taking it and then stopping and retaking. Propecia (fin) is the drug that will stop you losing hair in the future.
