  1. I wouldn’t do anything aggressive at all that would potentially dislodge the grafts for the first 10 days. You should follow your doc’s instructions so that way down the line there are no questions asked that maybe you did something to hinder your results. One thing I can recommend to you is to use to gently apply some organic jojoba oil on the dried blood and leave it on for a couple hours before the indirect sponge washing your doing. That can help loosen them up. Jojoba oil is the least irritating oil and shouldn’t cause any irritation and won’t clog your pores.
  2. Like everyone else said this doctor either has no idea what they are doing or they are just careless and left you at the mercy of their inexperienced technicians. On top of the muli hair and chunky grafts you also have pitting from grafts being placed too deep in the skin which causes the skin to look dimpled. You have a high contrast between your dark thick hair and light skin which makes you an extremely difficult case. I had similar issues as you did after my first surgery. An experienced doctor is going to want to remove some of the grafts and debulk the large once placed in the front before transplanting more hairs. You need to be very careful and make sure you go to one of the best doctors recommended here for your repair if you want a natural looking result. Good luck. Look at this case below. This guy had similar issues minus the pitting maybe and chose an excellent doctor for his repair.
  3. Awesome and detailed write up of your experience. Keep us updated and good luck with everything!
  4. Some of those doctors you listed are industry pioneers who have literally set the benchmark for the rest of the industry and have been considered “elite” for over twenty years. That is why their names are understandably constantly recommended on here by ex patients and many people who haven’t even had a procedure done by them. It doesn’t mean Dr. Vories doesn’t do good work. You can ask that question about a lot of doctors. Why isn’t Dr. Gabel mentioned more often along with them? Why isn’t Drs. True & Dorin mentioned? Or Dr. Wesley? That’s why it’s important to research and search prior patient cases and make your own decision.
  5. Just a heads up I’m also in the US and on low dose finasteride (.5 mg every other day) and I use topical a few nights a week. I did a consultation with medicalwellnesscenter.com which uses Murray avenue apothecary for the topical finasteride. They also offer compounding minoxidil with it but I just get the topical finasteride solution.
  6. thanks Melvin I got a couple 1. I’ve noticed FUE surgeries with clinics that are very detail oriented tend to take longer which means grafts are out of the body longer. How long are you comfortable with grafts being out of body before implanting? 2. The increase of social media marketing platforms such as Instagram has also brought on the increase of unethical and unskilled doctors performing this surgery around the world. Are you seeing an upward trend in patients seeking repair procedures?
  7. Follow your surgeons instructions. He will tell you when and if to start minoxidil. As far as oils, lotions, etc they won’t do anything after your surgery other then possibly cause harm by clogging your pores. As far as supplements there’s nothing wrong with taking a good multivitamin and collagen supplements but that’s not going to drastically improve your chances for a good outcome. If it did, anyone can go to any cheap hair mill and save a ton of cash by slathering castor oil on their heads post op and taking msm and getting a great result.
  8. You should be more concerned that you are going to a great surgeon. No vitamins, supplements or medicine will make your grafts grow if you went to an unethical or unskilled surgeon.
  9. Hang in there man. Maybe it’s just the lighting but I definitely see an improvement compared to the 4 month photos you posted. Hopefully you are a textbook case of a slow grower and are simply 2 months behind the average growth timeline which does happen especially with fine haired guys. Check out this case...this guy had almost the same number of grafts as you except he had a lot go into his temple points. His results at 6 months were not impressive but he was a classic slow grower and ended up with a pretty great result considering his starting point and he had a couple guys being ultra negative in his thread.
  10. What guard is that? A 2? I highly recommend growing your sides out longer for a while and finding a nice way to style your hair just so you don’t think about it. Maybe a 4 or 5 guard. After 6 months and hopefully seeing awesome progress on your hairline you can reevaluate the status of your donor and if it looks the same see what your options are.
  11. Do you have any post op photos showing the donor extractions? Worst case scenario if it is permanent due to poor extraction pattern you can do SMP which when done properly works great. Or if you require another procedure in the future the doctor you choose can selectively target grafts around the rectangular pattern so it won’t be noticeable. I am seeing a pattern of a lot more guys lately having issues like you. Hopefully it is just shock loss.
  12. Ya I agree with @mustang give it some time I’m sure it will look better in a few months but the extractions were taken too close to each other. Hopefully you get a killer result in the front and you can always get SMP to your donor area in the future it works wonders. But this shouldn’t have happened with only a 1500 graft procedure.
  13. I saw your post on hair loss talk and actually PM’d a couple guys the link who had awful looking scars to show them your result and an option other than SMP. Thanks for sharing it here. Mwamba did a great job.
  14. Stay the F away from that place. From your post history it sounds like your trying your best to find a doctor in the LA area only. That’s a good way to get butchered. You need to research more. Only patient posted results matter. Like @transplantedphil said they cherry pick the results they post and they constantly post old results from years ago and make them appear to be new results. That tells you they are not consistently getting good results and also they are unethical with their marketing.
  15. Not trying to be negative but even if they all grow that’s not enough grafts to achieve moderate density in the hairline that was drawn up. I hope he was clear with you that you would need more then 1 surgery and this is just the way he does it at least. Also, I hope I’m wrong but I think I saw double hair grafts in the front of your hairline in the post op pics. If you are unhappy in 6 months start researching some top docs recommended here because I advise you to not go back to that doctor.
  16. Did you get tested for vitamin deficiencies and/or thyroid issues? Did something traumatic happen in your life that caused a lot of stress? Also, I noticed you had that issue with the scalp flakes. Did Dr. Bisanga tell you it was just dandruff or perhaps scalp psoriasis? Hope you get this resolved man.
  17. Love your videos man! You’re keeping it very honest while educating viewers at the same time. One of the best documentations I’ve seen. Bruno is gonna get a lot of new business because of you he owes you!👌
  18. Looking really good man! In a few months those hairs will all be much thicker and it will look more dense. HLC does great work and they have an ethical surgical protocol where doctors are heavily involved. Wish they would get recommended here. I agree with everyone else I wish I had your beard man holy crap you could cover your whole crown with the beard alone.
  19. You’ve met the doctor in person which was a great thing and came away feeling good. Now your having some doubts which is totally normal. I never had a procedure with Dr. Lindsay but one thing I always liked about his videos is he seem like a “no BS” kind of doctor. And his responses to you are very much along the same “no bs” attitude in saying he will do his best. That’s the only thing an ethical doctor will guarantee you is that they will do their best. I agree though he could do a better job of providing a more detailed answer to you. At least you have direct contact with him and not a consultant. The best advice I can give you since you live in the area is maybe try to see if you can speak and possible meet up with a couple of his patients in person if possible to ask them about their experience and see the results. If that doesn’t put your mind at ease then you shouldn’t go thru with it and consult with more doctors. Good luck with everything!
  20. LA is a horrible place to get a hair transplant. If you are dead set on not leaving LA then Mohebi is your best choice but he isn’t cheap. The term “you get what you pay for” doesn’t really apply in cities like LA. In my opinion you should do yourself a favor and get on a plane outta Burbank and take the short flight to go see Dr. Gabel.
  21. I feel like excessive bleeding doesn’t get talked about enough. I think it is a contrIbuting factor. You probably had Grafts popping because of it. They may have even missed some holes...I mean take a look at your post op images can you see every single graft placed 100%? No because it is too bloody. Top clinics will spray with saline between graft placing to avoid this. They will also not make all the incisions at once or at the very least change the game plan if they have a patient who is bleeding a lot. I’m sure you had a lot of heavy scabs to deal with. Did the doctor just make all the incisions and leave you to the mercy of the techs placing all the grafts?
  22. Amazing result for the amount of grafts used. 95% yield seems standard with Dr. K.
  23. I tried oral minoxidil for a while. Mostly because I was dealing with skin issues on my scalp so I discontinued topical. I had fluid retention which felt weird as well as some shortness of breath so I stopped it.
