5,000 FUE * Mid-June 2018 * Progress
CosmoKramer replied to CosmoKramer's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
Thought I’d post a couple photos I took today of my hair after a shower slightly damp with a good amount of strong paste styling clay. It weighs the hair down and shows an honest view of my mid vertex/crown area which needs more grafts (probably another 1,500-2,000) to be less see-thru and satisfied but I do see short hairs growing still. -
Should You Have Robotic FUE?
CosmoKramer replied to Melvin- Admin's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
During my Ht research I originally only wanted to go to a doctor that utilized ARTAS because of the touted pro claims about graft selection/less chance of graft transection/graft survival/much less chance of surgeon fatigue, etc....but the more before and after results I saw online (which wasn’t many) I wasn’t impressed even from reputable ht doctors and the cost they charged was much too pricey in my opinion, I’m glad I went the route I did after much research. -

Thanks for the compliment and comment @SprayPaint! Yes, at this point I am very happy with my progress and results. For me just at 9.5 months now, the improved growth, density, thickening is very satisfying and if I gain any more from here on out until my 12th month or beyond it will be a nice bonus. I was a tough sometimes nerve wracking journey but im very happy to have gone through it and done the procedure. If i am truly being honest, the crown is still see through and not as dense as my frontal third BUT that is not the fault of Dr Erdogan, ASMED, it is because only 1,500 grafts were placed all around the crown area for some decent coverage and I know that for my case it probably requires an additional 1,500 grafts and I’m ok with that because I’m glad Dr Koray concentrated the majority of my good grafts to rebuilding my hairline and frontal third and reframing my face which is much more important to me. I’m also ok with camouflaging the crown with longer hair combed back and some hair fibers for now and could get it touched up in the future if I choose to. thanks again! 🙂 -

How do you know it’s just 1% effective??? Are you an expert? I don’t know or claim to know exactly how much but I know it’s helped me and seems like others as well. I don’t know if or why doctors don’t suggest it I’m not a doctor and not trying to sell anything, and I’m not trying to convince you of anything I’m saying I don’t agree with your definitive belief of something you don’t know for sure about. Yes, common sense tells me I, just like Luke and others might have done something right and helpful. By the way, one could make the argument that minoxidil and Finasteride are “snake oils” as they don’t 100% work on everyone using them with 100% results, sure they help, but not for everyone. -

Sorry but I disagree with you man, doing something to improve circulation doesn’t just end physiologically at the moment you’re done doing something to improve the circulation, just like working out at the gym doesn’t stop your body from burning calories once you’re done with your workout, it’s continuous, not just a definitive set end point. I’m not suggesting it’s the be all end all to a great result but I think it can give great assistance along with a combination of other consistent variables. -

Yes, but since grafts are very delicate and there is competition for blood supply in the scalp it doesn’t hurt to give all the assistance to it that you can. -

I wouldn’t say “had nothing to do with coconut oil n head massaging”... I think it can help, I did the same nightly and also recently incorporated peppermint oil in the oil mix to increase circulation. Hair won’t grow without circulating blood nutrition nor will transplanted grafts. -

It’s because I wanted honest opinions and feedback based on my progress without any bias pro or con, I’ve read and seen all the great cases and the criticism so I just wanted my results to speak for themselves without bias or agenda. I do believe Dr Koray and his clinic perform top notch work as you say, are some concerns from other patients valid, I would say possibly to be honest, but there is no doubt that no other clinic or Doctor on this forum has more patient posted results compared to everyone else elite or not. Based on my experience and results with Dr Erdogan I would recommend them (and have) to family and friends that had interest. -

Thanks @Melvin-Moderator, appreciate your compliment and comments! Yeah, it’s a big change, for the better, I’m very happy and thankful it’s all worked out well or I should say much much more than well I’m glad to contribute, just as many who have contributed their ht journeys on here which helped me get all the answers I needed and to this point, including you! It can be a tough physical & mental process and journey but the benefits are totally worth it in the end and I hope and wish the best for others on the same path! -

Dr. Keser - Ankara/Turkey - 14.11.2018
CosmoKramer replied to Haare2018's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
Hi 4.5 months is really just the beginning of the new growth, so don’t be disappointed just yet. As for the density, it’s hard to tell until another 4.5 months passes but 1,700 grafts for your area of loss does seem low, I agree with Legend it should be closer to 3,000 grafts but I know that Keser is a conservative Doctor when it comes to grafts since he does a lot of the procedure himself. Good luck and keep updating!- 62 replies

You’re welcome! Exactly, it’s a catch-22 with being on medication long-term and trying to decided what’s the best route for further action at a still-young age. I, personally haven’t used minoxidil in a few years because it wasn’t helping and was just aging my facial/forehead skin/wrinkles and giving me headaches and I stopped taking my Finasteride 1.5 months post-op because I wanted to see the full natural results from my HT and how successful it would be without any life-long med assist, although my hair loss was already advanced pre-ht. I believe it’s permanent in non-donor area regions where the native hair is already in the miniaturization process and succumbing to DHT. The Donor region is where shock-loss hair should grow back after a few months. Good Luck! -

I have read it can be in areas that are susceptible to DHT, the areas that should come back in 3 or 4 months time are usually in the donor region. -

In my opinion, if you were 38 and not on any hair loss medication and your hair loss was stabilized, I would say go for it....but, since you’re 28 on meds and it’s not clear how much more your hair loss would progress down the road, I’d say don’t go for it just yet, your hair looks good for your current age even with the thinning temples, maybe a try a hairstyle/cut with shorter hair on your sides/back and keep the top long see if that helps any. 🙂 Oh, and yeah, I’d be concerned with any possible permanent shock loss in areas you have hair already that are in process of miniaturization. -

Nice early progress. I too have had those dry scalp flakes and still occasionally even now 9 months after, I think it’s just areas of the scalp still healing itself and when I’ve tried to brush them out when hair was dry that’s when a fine hair or a few would come out as well so I found leaving a good natural shampoo or conditioner on the area to soak for 5-10min helps soften the flakes to come off when wet without any hair coming off. -
Very nice, the temple triangles look fantastic and natural, I’m jealous! 😉 Just another couple or a few months and density should be much improved! 🤞🏻
