Dr zarev created quite a stir when he presented these results at the last ishrs conference. However I think it’s all smoke and mirrors. There is no magic vacuum punch that will Let doctors extract 10k+ grafts....dr umar already invented such a punch years ago and there’s not much to show for it. i highly doubt some random doctor from Bulgaria of all places will be pioneering the hair transplant industry. He’s likely just parading patients with very high donor densities and good hair characteristics

Couldn’t have said it better myself. IAHRS is a Money grab for Spencer kobren. He lives in the most expensive area of LA and drives a brand new Range Rover. To top it off hes the president a hair transplant organization but most members here know more about transplants than him. He’s never even had a hair transplant.

I wouldn’t hold my breath. Less than optimal Rahal threads usually go silent. I’m not gonna say why I think its that way but let’s just say I have a slight idea

3222 FUE PROCEDURE- DR. KORAY ERDOGAN
LonelyGraft replied to MichaelD's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
2 months is the worst stage. You’re lucky as your loss was minimal and it still doesn’t look bad even that short. Month 3-4 is when the Magic starts. Exciting times again. Keep us updated -
It’s hard to compare since the lighting and length of hair is so different. Try to remain patient, hopefully things turn around. I know it’s an anxiety provoking time but all u can do is stick to ur meds and try to wait things out. 1500 grafts is nothing in the grand scheme of things and you likely have a lot left for a touch up if needed.

The result looks fantastic. But the pictures, even the newest, look like they were taken with a .000001 megapixel camera -

RU, topical spironolactone, dermarolling, various shampoos (piroctone olamine, coal tar), tretinoin, etc. moral of the story: stick to what’s proven cuz it becomes exhausting, expensive, and there’s lots of bs out there

What a turnaround! dr konior, do you think 1500 grafts were extracted from those two isolated strips? It seems very unlikely as the areas are quite narrow

It looks on par for the amount of grafts used and the characteristics of your hair. A very natural result. Its common to see density improvement up til month 14-18 -
Norwood 6/7 Do You Take Finasteride?
LonelyGraft replied to Melvin- Admin's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Sorry, I think you need some schooling Bc YOU clearly have a bias and don’t know how interpret what’s In front of u all I was stating is that a well controlled study with 19k participants is nothing to look over. Your meta analysis does not only look at prostate disease, rather dht inhibition as a whole your second link simply states that SERUM Androgen levels likely have no effect on prostate cancer development. (Duhhh we all know 5ar is located in specific sites including but not limited to: the liver, hair follicle pilosebaceous unit, sebaceous gland, prostate, etc) serum levels tell us nothing otherwise we should all be getting blood work to see how finasteride is working for our hair. It’s all about the local activity of 5ar. Keep ignoring key points 🙃 -
Norwood 6/7 Do You Take Finasteride?
LonelyGraft replied to Melvin- Admin's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Directly from your first link which go in line with the study I linked as well as the urologists comments: However, the published data contradict this argument and suggest that 5-ARIs are safe in terms of prostate cancer risk and mortality, and the new research findings from Unger and colleagues5 and Wallerstadt and co-workers6suggest there might be true long-term benefits of 5-ARIs in preventing prostate cancer. What remains to be addressed is whether the safety warning should be removed from 5-ARI labels, as the benefits of 5-ARI therapy might far out-weigh any potential risks related to prostate cancer incidence. -
Norwood 6/7 Do You Take Finasteride?

So a randomized study with 19000 patients over 7 years is something we should overlook? Ok 👍🏼 -
Norwood 6/7 Do You Take Finasteride?
LonelyGraft replied to Melvin- Admin's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
I’m posting this again....if you want to overlook it for the second time then I give up: So how do you explain the increased risk of high-grade disease reported in 2003? There are two mechanisms by which we believe finasteride enhances the detection of high-grade cancer on prostate biopsy. First, finasteride is known to decrease the size of the prostate gland by about 25%. When you biopsy a smaller gland, you are more likely to sample an area of cancer—or high-grade cancer—with your biopsy needle, compared to doing the same biopsy in a larger gland. Second, as we showed in another analysis of the PCPT, finasteride improves the sensitivity of the PSA test for the detection of overall and high-grade prostate cancer. Because the decision to perform prostate biopsies during the study was based on PSA levels, this may have contributed to increased detection of prostate cancer, in general, and high-grade prostate cancer, in particular, among men receiving finasteride. Due to the effects of this drug on gland size and PSA performance, it seems quite likely that the PCPT not only overestimated the harm of finasteride in terms of the observed increase in high-grade cancer, but mayhave underestimated the benefit of finasteride in terms of the amount of reduction in prostate cancer risk.
