  1. I came online to answer somebody's inbox messages asking me questions about Hattingen, as he is considering them, and thought I would update this thread. All the grafts fell out about 2 weeks after the surgery. It has now been 1.5 months so still no regrowth but my native hair is growing nicely though, although there isn't much of it. Around the incision has suffered a bit of shock loss and also is a little inflammed at the occipital part of the incision so I am having a Skype chat with the clinic next week. I had actually forgotten what it looked liked with the grafts so went back to look at the pictures to show the guy who wanted advice and I was reminded of what I have to look forward to.
  2. North America - Konior and H&W. Do FUT along the same scar as mentioned above.
  3. Save up for more time and go to a better doctor. 3200 euros for 4000 grafts is ridiculous which means they are a poor clinic. I got more grafts than you and paid a lot more money and it was FUT which is cheaper per graft. Belgium is a good start for your search. Get some in person consultations with top clinics, even if you do not initially intend to get work done with them. Dr Feriduni charges 200 euros for a consultation if you feel guilty about taking a consultation and then not getting surgery done with them. You will regret this forever if you mess it up to save a few euros. Do not forget, you are doing it to look better, not worse.
  4. I'd avoid Diep. You can't afford him anyway if you want somebody in Asmed's price range. You could try Dra Ximena Vila in Madrid. She used to work with Dr Lorenzo and did his hair transplant. She has started her own clinic now and only charges 2.5 euros a graft all included (taxes etc.). Responds very quickly to emails too.
  5. I'd recommend an in-person consultation with Dr Feriduni. You have to pay about 200 euros but it is very thorough (he will use a microscope on your donor to test for miniturisation too) and he is both ethical and world class so you can use whatever he says as a baseline for any other consultations you have. I went to Hattingen and the result so far is excellent I think. They also do free consultations that include microscopes. Given your donor, I'd personally avoid both FUE and Turkey.
  6. Thanks @hairlossPA Hi @mhaider1991! I went to Hattingen recently in November and had a 4500 FUT. Feel free to ask me any questions either here or via inbox.
  7. It doesn't look unnatural - it just looks like it is lacking density. Which it is. Easy to fix.
  8. Not sure I agree with that. These articles and research projects come about every year or two and nothing ever happens to them. I will believe it when I see it
  9. Hi! I have a question about the native hair. The native hair, which was a questionable bridge and a forelock, are not growing but they also haven't fallen out like the rest of (the transplanted) hair. What could be the issue? Will they fall out? Will they start to grow?
  10. Thanks dude! Yes, healing very well. The problem is how I look now. You are very lucky in that you were getting something relatively minor and already have a lot of hair to hide the procedure. I am pretty exposed at the moment! Unfortunately, this will not change for another 3 months now either. How is the recipient area looking Legend?
  11. I showered 2-3x a day for the first week then 1-2x a day for the second week. I didn't get any scabs either, just crusts, which came off in the shower on their own. I sprayed with saline for the first week too. I also didn't let any scab form on the incision. It is healing nicely though. I have just cut my hair to a number 6 (back and sides as I barely have anything on top) and you can see the incision slightly on some parts of my head. I need the hair from around the incision to grow back now.
  12. Great opinion as usual Jean. I actually think that looks better than if it were mega dense. More natural. There is usually some thinning in these areas in men anyway. I have seen other work where it is denser than the native hair behind it and it looks silly when cut short. Nobody knows what will happen in the future, medication or otherwise, so I would rather err on the side of caution.
  13. In my case, I was a NW 4.5 so there was barely anything to see before the surgery anyway and implanting hairs in and around the native hair has caused shock loss in the hair I did have so I now look like a NW5 essentially - hair around the back and sides but nothing on top.
  14. No. I will be doing it myself as soon as there is enough hair immediately around the incision to cover it. They had to shave that area to cut it out.
