  1. Hi all! I have had the procedure done. The result is amazing. The work is very, very clean - almost no redness at all. My hairline is how it was when I was in my early 20s (I have never had a straight hairline like Clooney or Pitt and to be honest, I don't think it would suit my face). It is very natural. They said I have great hair and scalp characteristics and probably won't need another procedure unless I want one. 4,400+/- grafts in the end. I have still not seen the incision though but they said it looks fine.
  2. Thanks for the reply. It will be a 5 or 6 then by the looks of it once the staples are out!
  3. Thanks guys! I think I will keep it long until the staples are out and then buzz down everything that is left to around a 5 or 6 or something similar. What do you think the shortest I can cut it down to is and still keep the incision "hidden"? How long does it take for the incision to heal? I could ask the latter tomorrow at the clinic but while I have you all.......
  4. I don't style my hair. It just is as it is and that is it. Not to be pedantic (well maybe a little )but you can't have pre-op pics after the surgery 😋 I will debate it. Are you getting yours on the 30th too? FUT at H&W in the end right? Great choice!
  5. Good morning! I am flying out for my procedure tomorrow and I have a few questions: 1) Would anybody be interested in seeing results from a surgeon/clinic that is never mentioned on this forum but enjoys an excellent reputation (even Dr Feriduni said he was "an excellent choice" and he only said that about 2 clinics in the list I gave him of other people I was considering - others he outright told me to avoid)? I am 50-50 about whether to do a photo blog or not. I think lots of people just want to see cases from doctors who they are considering and people on this forum wouldn't be considering the clinic I am going to. If it is just for curiosity then I probably won't do it. Feel free to give me your opinions. 2) Any advice for immediately after the surgery that evening? I have been told to wear a button up shirt so I don't have to take anything off over my head. Anything else you wish you had known before you did yours (it is FUT if that helps focus responses)? 3) The doctor has said he will shave the top part of my head but leave the backs and sides to hide the FUT opening and the staples. I am worried this will leave me looking like Friar Tuck from Robin Hood though and I think I would just rather them shave everything to the same length. I will eventually have to cut the back and sides anyway as it will look like a nest if I don't. What is the opinion of other people on this? Best haircut to hide the procedure? As I said, I am debating having it all cut to the same length and then will keep it at a number 3 until the regrowth appears. Opinions? Thoughts? Alternatives? 4) Is it worth flying back out to him to have the staples removed? His receptionist has said they give us a tool and we can do it ourselves and it is very easy. I just think it will be safer if they do it and also gives an opportunity for the clinic to look at the procedure and FUT wound after 2 weeks and give their opinion on its progress. 5) How hard is it to sleep for the first few days? 6) What do you do during the surgery? Movie? Book? Sleep? 7) Any post-surgery advice for helping with recovery/redness? Aloe vera? Vitamins? Supplements? I am all ears. Thanks in advance!
  6. This is a good result. Natural looking hairline. I like the temple points too. Not too dense so it looks like they are starting to fade. This will still look great in years to come.
  7. Glad to hear it. Congrats! Maybe @Bill - Managing Publisher can help with the account details?
  8. Thanks guys. What day does the swelling start and for how long does it last?
  9. She charges 2.5 euros per graft which is amazing value. She is very quick getting back to emails too and also replies herself. She had quite a long wait for in-person consultations. She is based in Madrid. She only does FUE.
  10. Belgium or Switzerland! Do not do it in the UK
  11. Wow! 2 opposing opinions there. If you had it on the 30th (it is a 30 day month) when would you fly home? It is only a 2 hour flight.
  12. Hi guys! This is quite urgent as I ideally want to buy my flight today. I had reserved/paid for everything except the flight and only realised today. How many days after a large FUT operation should you wait before flying again? Not from a health point of view as the doctor said 1-2 days is fine. I just means in terms of everything (how you're feeling; swelling; pain etc.) Thanks
  13. I do not understand why you think that FUT was easier to hide. Do you mean just the scar? Did you not still suffer from shock loss in the recipient area?
  14. I am just going to shave my head to a number 3 for the first few months.
  15. Hattingen! In the end, it was a toss up between Hattingen and Feriduni but as the latter wanted to just do FUE, it kind of made my decision for me. I am sure both are excellent choices though.
  16. Hi guys! Thanks for the support. I paid the deposit yesterday and go ahead later this month. Currently looking for accommodation in the area which is proving quite difficult at short notice. Has anybody got a tent I can borrow?
  17. Jesus! I would never have the courage to do that. Good luck! Thanks for the support - and no, it is FUT
  18. So, I have to decide if I will take a cancellation at a clinic for the end of this month. The waiting list would otherwise be 6-12 months. I am very, very nervous though. I need to decide tomorrow and all the normal (I imagine) doubts are going through my head like what if it doesn't work out etc. I have done my research on here and other fora and I have travelled to visit clinics and speak to the doctors in person. The results are amazing too. Really top notch. Even so, there is still the doubt at the back of your head of the "what if....". Can anybody offer support/help/advice/calming lullabies?
  19. I haven't actually had the surgery yet. I am getting it end of this month (in theory - need to confirm tomorrow morning)
  20. I mentioned it in the context of shaving my head short to avoid the ugly duckling phase being so obvious. However, with FUT, this is not an option because of the scar.
