  1. I wouldn't go with Diep personally so I would take him back out.
  2. I went FUT with Hattingen after 2-3 years of research and I am at the 4 month mark but H&W in Canada have a stellar reputation too. However, there are an increasing amount of people complaining they have been pushing patients into FUE once they are already in the surgery room saying they do not have the laxity to do FUT. Strange that this higher proportion of patients with poor laxity have only come become more commonplace since they have started doing the more expensive FUE method. Still, their results are amazing. Dr Feriduni is another excellent choice. I have seen results from Dr Konior that I am impressed with but I did not research North American clinics enough to know if he does FUT, FUE or both.
  3. Yeah, response is a little slow but as you say, I found that in general across Europe. The problem is that he is involved in the surgery but also the one who responds to the emails and does the consultations. Pretty hard to fit all three things in to one day. If you want, inbox me and I will give you the receptionist's email address. Post-surgery, they give you their cell numbers so you can text or ring them directly if there are any issues. As most people on this site will (hopefully) attest to, I did a lot of due diligence and spent 2-3 years researching this. However, in that time I didn't look at temple points at all because I do not need them doing so I really can't answer that question. The hairlines however are amazing but conservative. Look on the German and French fora for examples. I don't take/want to take medication and am a high NW pattern so needed to have a conservative hairline so this suited me. For others (you), it may not. I actually went for a consultation with Dr Feriduni. I do not think I need to wax lyrical about him or say how much of a lovely, generally great guy he is or how knowledgable he is so I will not. I loved the hairline that he drew for me (except for the fact it started above my natural hairline) but he wanted to do FUE and would not budge to FUT (or to start the hairline at my natural hairline). He even gave me a discount to convince me to have FUE. In the consultation he gave me his very honest opinion (positive and negative) about some of the other doctors I had consulted with and also ones I was considering. He spoke really, really highly of Hattingen saying they were "an excellent choice - a really, very good choice" - he also spoke very positively of H&W FYI. The fact they do FUT, have many, many good examples online and then were spoken so highly about by another doctor who has a world class reputation despite him knowing I would probably go there sealed it for me.
  4. I wore a hat immediately after the surgery (with a bandana on under it) and wore it whenever outside the house from that moment onwards
  5. Hey you're back! Good news. Where did you go? I got mine done in the end and went with FUT for it too.
  6. I went with Hattingen 4 months ago - I am glad somebody (you and @rocketmas ) added them to the list. World class clinic
  7. It is not that they have superior methods. My guess, and it seems to be the consensus, is that Spanish hair is perfect for this procedure and most of his patients are Spaniards i.e. right thickness, density, color etc. and it gives the illusion of density..... which is what we are all chasing anyway. So whilst they are undoubtedly good, do take into account if you have thin, blond hair from Sweden, you probably won't be getting the same result as Pedro from Madrid even if you both went to Lorenzo or Couto. I would really look at Heitmann in Switzerland. His hairlines are amazing and Swiss/Germans (where most of the Swiss clinics' patients come from) don't have the same hair characteristics. You could also try my clinic, Hattingen Hair. Swiss Elite clinic like H&W and like H&W, they added FUE a few years back. If you can't get in touch with Lorenzo, consult with Dra Vila as I mentioned above, so cheap, much shorter waiting list and did Lorenzo's transplant. I don't see how a consultation would hurt you? Dr Feriduni - I had an inperson consultation with him. I don't see the point in internet ones except to make a general assessment of the clinic and its quality but with Feriduni, that is already a known quality: he is world class. Inperson, they (clinics in general) can count your donor, design the hairline, take pictures, inspect miniturization and general hair quality..... definitely worth it. When I went, the waiting list for a consultation was longer than the waiting list for a procedure. You'd have to ask him what his schedule looks like now. When is your internet consultation?
  8. First of all, you should probably create your own thread. It is unfair to hijack other people's threads. Secondly, you haven't said whether you have a preference for FUE or FUT or no preference at all? The doctors you have mentioned are FUE so I am guessing that this is your preference. The waiting list for the Spanish doctos is huge - if you want to go with them, you will not be doing it this summer or possibly even summer 2020. I am not kidding either. It took over 6 months for them (can't remember which one) just to get back to my email to tell me there was a three year waiting list. Maybe even more. I had an in-person consultation with Dr. Feriduni and he was very good but wanted to do FUE and I want FUT. I eventually went with a clinic he highly recommended. I would still have a consultation with him because of his pedigree and very ethical approach, even if you go with somebody else. Be warned though, you have to pay for a consultation with him. Another FUE alternative is Dra Maria Ximena Vila. She has set up her own clinic in Madrid and whilst I haven't seen her results specifically, I can tell you she used to be aprt of Dr Lornezo's clinic and she and the team there did his transplant. For legal reasons you would have to find her results on Lorenzo's page. Another option, not mentioned on this site but is still excellent, is Dr Heitmann in Switzerland. For FUT there are other options. Hope that helps.
  9. I agree. It is a good result, as always from Feriduni, and the patient will be very happy.
  10. Disagree. The crown is a black hole and quite a lot of the grafts went there judging by the final density and the size of the area to be implanted on in the last picture. With the temple points too, there is probably 2-2.5k in the front and 1.5-2k on the crown. The patient's face is framed much better and the hairline, whilst not low, looks much better. The best picture is the second one of the patient looking to the right (because of the sideways direction he brushes his hair). He looks much better on this one and he is only 3/4 way through the result now with another 3 months of growth to go.
  11. Hi! Does anybody know of a good (ideally active) forum for orthodontics? I am thinking of getting braces and have a few questions but I get mixed replies from clinics I have consulted with and I am concerned some may be "interested" opinions/advice. Thanks
  12. Hi! I feel for you. Sorry to hear about your situation. I went to clinics that had a reputation of being ethical and producing good, consistent results. I was only ever considering Europe however. I had been following the clinic I finally went with on another couple of sites and was very impressed with the work. What swung it for me is that Dr Feriduni himself in an in-person consultation I had with him told me they were an elite level clinic and that he thought their results were amazing. My advice thefore is, like I said, ethical (they won't BS you) and consistently good results (they know what they are talking about). Then just compare the advice given to you and even put it on here for people to give their opinions. I am very happy with my result so this worked for me. I know Dr Feriduni does repair work and he also charges for his consultations (about 200 euros) so you know his opinions are impartial. Might be a good starting point that you can use as a baseline for any other advice/suggestions given to you.
  13. Sorry for the late reply. I have been away. Hattingen prices are on their website so full transparency (also like H&W in that respect). Dr Feriduni quoted me 4.5 euros a graft for FUE for 3000 grafts but that was in an in-person consultation, which cost about 200 euros. I do not think he has his prices online http://www.hattingenhair.com/en/hair-transplant-prices/prices/
  14. I would say the opposite. If they aren't anchored then they will be easier to extract. With 6 days though, they will already be anchoring so I think that ship has sailed. I don't know of any clinic that does electrolysis but it is not something that I have looked into either. Why don't you go for a consultation with a few top clinics before the grafts shed and see what they recommend? Where did you have it done?
  15. Go to a much better doctor and get them to do a repair job. It will cost about the same as the laser and as you say, leave fewer scars. How recently did you have it done? The grafts may not have anchored yet.
  16. Hattingen is not a person, it is a place and the clinic used to be there. The clinic is called Hattingen Hair. They then moved to Schaffhausen in Swizterland on the border with Germany but kept the name when they moved as they had already built a brand using it. The doctors are a husband and wife team - Drs Sever and Laura Muresanu. Before surgery, you mostly deal with Dr Sever. He does the consultations etc. On the day of the surgery (for FUT, I am not sure who does what for FUE), he does the hairline and the strip and Dr Laura does the incisions. The techs take the grafts from the strip and prep them for re-insertion whilst Dr Laura is doing the incisions and then 2-3 techs place them at the same time with a doctor coming in periodically to check on progress. The techs then swap after lunch so they are not tired i.e. you don't have 2-3 techs doing graft placement for 6-8 hours or whatever but 2-3 doing 3-4 hours and and then a different 2-3 doing 3-4 hours. The tech with the least experience there has been with them for 7 years. Very smooth operation and I was very impressed. I can't wait for the 12 month mark to be honest. To be honest, I hadn't heard of them when I was doing my consultations and was pretty much set on Dr Feriduni but a German speaking poster on here mentioned them as an option to me last year. I did my research and then when Dr Feriduni spoke so highly of them during our consultation together, I set up a consultation with them too and they happened to have a cancellation so I went for it. The French forum has some videos on there too. Let me know what you think!
  17. Thanks both for replying. I do not think anybody has any problem with doctors paying. At least I do not and it is me who started the thread and I hope it isn't seen as a complaint but genuinely constructive feedback. I have even said above that the site helped me make an informed decision about my procedure and I recognize that for that to continue, the site needs to generate money. That is fine. With respect Melvin, it isn't us that should have to tell you which of the doctors isn't posting, that is your role (that sounds very snotty, especially written with no body language etc. but I can't think of another way to put it so I hope it isn't taken as such - sorry). Bill is right in saying that the site will investigate. The issue I think is, if the site doesn't know which doctors are posting and which aren't on a regular basis, then how can it be enforcing standards? It isn't one or two either. Look at the first 10 pages which is 4 months of the clinics posting results. They are mostly the same clinics. I would like to reitierate that I am not singling out Dr Keene. She just happened to be the first in the list.
  18. High Norwood, FUT mega-sessions are their bread and butter. I am (was) a high Norwood. They are big on the German website: alopezie.de but you have to become a member to see the pictures. They have their own area just for their results on that forum. They are also on International Hairloss Forum. If you can't speak German or French respectively, use Google Chrome and then just translate the pages. The thing that sold Hattingen to me wasn't even the results on these fora, which are excellent anyway. I went for an in-person consultation with Dr Feriduni who I think we can all agree is excellent and enjoys a stellar reputation for being ethical. He asked me what other clinics I was considering and I told him. He said he thinks H&W and Hattingen are amazing options for clinics and waxed lyrically about both. He also expressed reservations about some other clinics that I see on this forum so he wasn't just saying nice things about those two because he is a nice guy, which he is.
  19. No and also the advice of the weekend above is poor advice because the swelling would start on the Sunday or the Monday so you would be riding out the swelling in the middle of the office with staples in the back of your head. Postpone it to September and then take two weeks off.
  20. Exactly. I am fine with them charging for continued recommendation status. No problem at all as it means the site stays up and it is one of the reasons I was able to make such an informed decision when I came to do my procedure. However, one also has to maintain the standards implemented by the very recipient of the revenue itself or it undermines its ability to generate revenue and its usefulness as a tool
  21. I am not saying to go with this doctor or not. However, I will say that this is one of those things in life where you really do get what you pay for. A clinic in Holland that charges less than 5,000 euros for 4,000 grafts will almost definitely not give you the result you want. Going to a cheap clinic in Turkey that you are not able to research properly because of a lack of online results is highly risky. I would either save and go to a clinic with an established reputation and a consistent track record of results or not do it at all to be honest. If you absolutely have to do it in Turkey, Cinic seems to be pumping out very good results recently on here. As I said above, I have not really researched the Turkish clinics though as I never even considered going there so I would not be the best source of advice for that.
  22. In the site's defence, the requirements for getting a recommendation to begin with are quite stringent. That is not the concern. The concern is then how those same requirements and standards are monitored and maintained afterwards. If there is no policing and moderation, standards can, and probably, will slip.
  23. Dr Bloxham still posts results, he just doesn't contribute to advice or answering questions anymore. Some of the others don't even do that, with any great frequency. I agree I completely with you. Recommendation shouldn't be a one time grant. Standards should be consistently held high and monitored in case they fall below the limit set. Let's see what @Bill - Managing Publisher and @Melvin-Moderator say
