  1. My clinic recreated a whirl they said I had in my forelock. I will tell you how successfully in a few months.
  2. The redness has almost completely gone already and it is not even a week since I had the surgery done yet. I am surprised because my skin is quite fair and I usually go red just by rubbing the towel hard on my head after a shower. I am also kind of regretting not pushing for a less conservative hairline. However, 1) I am not on meds and my family history means this would have been immoral/gung-ho/short-termist 2) Hattingen is actually known for doing conservative hairlines so I knew the deal before I went and 3) I found it very hard to imagine what the hairlines would look like when they had grown out when they were being drawn on my head to be able to comment on them.
  3. That is a great result. Well done! You must be pleased. On meds too, I doubt you will need another either. One and done!
  4. Once the swelling kicks in, is there anything you can do to hurry it up or is it just a case of waiting for it to go on its own?
  5. Thanks for the feedback and positive vibes. I used to use hairlossexperiences. It doesn't get much traffic. Either way, the important point is I am happy with the transplant and it has gone very, very well. Just need the regrowth to start now.......
  6. I am also a belly sleeper. I had avoiding swelling until today and it is quite bad but passing quickly. Not as bad as Legend describes his is though. It will pass.
  7. Showed some pics to two close friends and a girl. They were really impressed too and said it looks great. So glad I went ahead with this. Just need to get the staples out now so I can cut the back and sides and wait for the grafts to fall out and then regrow again. And to stop banging my head on things.
  8. The head being numb especially doesn't help! I agree. The meds for me weren't that strong and I have very, very minimal swelling today on my forehead but nothing major. I am not even a clumsy person normally!!! Did you lose any grafts? Did it bleed?
  9. I've just seen the incision for the first time too. Got somebody to take a photo of it. Impeccable work. Once the hair that he shaved to cut the incision grows back, it will be undetectable. Ultra-thin and no inflammation etc. Some bits have scabs/dried blood on it still but this will come off as I am washing it 2-3 times a day.
  10. The doctor said to me Tuesday i.e. in 2 days they will all be completely anchored so that will be 4 days. However, they already seemed to have mostly anchored as only two fell out earlier and I banged it quite hard. It bled quite a bit.
  11. He did decide for FUT but H&W said he didn't have the laxity for it so they gave him FUE. I got the same as you from Hattingen. Spray for every 2 hours and some lotion.
  12. Did you sleep sitting up? I did and only got some very mild forehead swelling this morning. I can't wait to sleep lying down. The problem for me is, I can't sleep on my back and I obviously can't sleep on my front until they have all fully anchored.
  13. Thanks for the support. As I said, I am more annoyed than concerned because it is only 2 grafts. Such an idiot. That will teach me anyway (hopefully) and also shows a lot of them have anchored already which is a good sign.
  14. Yes. I am more annoyed than concerned as it is such an easy mistake to avoid. The clinic got back to me almost immediately and said I will have lost only those two so that is great patient care I think given that it is Sunday.
  15. Lost my phone a few weeks ago and the picture quality on this old one I am using is really grainy but there are no other damage to the area, luckily. The doctor got back to me and said just those two are dead and not to do it again. As if I need telling twice 😅 What an idiot I am! Good advice about the anti inflammatory pills. Will take them now.
  16. Hi! I have just been getting into bed and I banged my head on a shelf. It bled and I had a quick shower and 2 grafts fell out. Is there anything I can/should do? I have messaged my doctor but she hasn't replied yet. Help!
  17. Thanks Kiwi guy. I am not per se, it is just hard to be overly happy with the pain/discomfort and lack of sleep. It will pass though, I am sure. I have seen enough post-op procedures to know mine has been a good one so I am not concerned about people saying it is a bad one. The problem is the internet is a big place and you never know who is looking and I may be recognized, blurred out face or not.
  18. Hahahah good suggestion but I am not the sort of person to wear one so it would grab more attention
  19. They are not present in the English speaking fora. You have to go onto the German and French speaking ones. Dr Feriduni put them in the same class as H&W when I went for a consultation with him. Really excellent results.
  20. Thanks for the words @Spaceman. The tricky part will be avoiding friends etc. who I really want to see over Xmas
  21. They are in Switzerland and the law is the same. You can go on to the site @Gasthoerer mentions and also some of the French ones. Dr Feriduni himself mentioned them alongside H&W as being excellent choices and a world class clinic so they are quality. @Melvin-Moderator - as mentioned in the title of the thread, it was done at the Hattingen Hair Clinic in Switzerland
  22. Thanks guys! The pain is actually much better today. I thought it would be worse. I slept sitting up (semi-sitting up - more like inclined). The pain is only at the back of the head but it also itches. Either way, I went for the first wash today and had another look and I am still impressed now. Can't wait for the regrowth in 3-5 months.
  23. Well! I did it. About 8 hours of surgery and I now have a much better hairline and a few less thousand euros than I did before. The meds are starting to wear off now and my head feels like it has been kicked (although it could be worse and I imagine before tomorrow morning it will feel worse too). My hairline, as I mentioned in my other post, is now like my 24 year old hairline which is not a straight one but I do not think a straight one would suit me and I have never had one anyway, even as a teenager. It really suits my face. There is almost no redness and no swelling (as yet). I haven't seen the incision yet and need to go back in the morning tomorrow for the first wash and for them to examine everything. They have a team of techs who do the implants and they are really good. Three work on you at once and so it doesn't take that long. It is quite boring though. I fell asleep at one point. You get lunch at around 13:30. The pain is actually getting worse and I have a bit of buyer's remorse now for the second time today (the first time being when I was sitting in the chair and I just thought "you look good with your head shaved, why are you doing this? It is so extreme"). Still haven't decided if I will upload pics or not (and I won't have any until tomorrow anyway) but if you have any questions, queries or well wishes, I am all ears.
