  1. 😂 passive aggressive much? Your comment is out of date though 😉 I agree though - keep it on track. Happy healing!
  2. That doesn't mean it is not unusual. I think most of what Diep does is unusual.
  3. In case you are interested, as you are a few months behind me (almost a full year), I have just posted my 9 month mark publicly here. I will post the full result when I go to the clinic (they can take the photos).
  4. Hi all! So I have decided to post some photos of my transplant. The clinic was so good I think they deserve acknowledgement plus I have had a few inbox messages asking me for updates. They are a clinic known for excellent results with FUT mega-sessions. Dr Feriduni told me they were excellent and a really, really great choice. He really thought very highly of them and he told me this in a consultation with him when he asked me who else I was considering so that was glowing praise. The photos I have here are pre-surgery, immediately post-surgery and 9 months in sunlight outside (a rare sunny day in Ireland!). I will update the full result pics when I go to see the clinic in a few weeks. It hurt when the meds wore off on the day but the next day it felt ok I thought. I returned to the clinic a couple of weeks after to get the staples taken out. They use sutures and staple s together. Prices are on the website and are transparent. They recreated a whirl in my hair at the front, which I was skeptical about when they told me afterwards but it has actually worked! I was a slow grower and didn't really see the full effect until about 14 months as I could still feel small hairs coming through and it has only really thickened up to its maximum around the 13-14 month mark. The scar now is undetectable. My sister and wife say it is literally a pencil line and they couldn't find it and they knew what they were looking for. I will let the clinic take a proper picture of it in March. About me: I am mid-30s I don't use any meds and never have. NW5 is hereditary. Feel free to ask any questions and happy to hear feedback
  5. The best, possibly in the world but definitely in North America, is Hasson and Wong. Get in touch with them
  6. Fair. I hope he posts how it went for him. His response will allow other people to make informed decisions. This is literally the only bad result I have ever seen from H&W
  7. I wasn't insinuating he does bad work, just that he has a rep for quoting aggressive amounts of grafts. I never even consulted him in the end as his clinic didn't get back to my requests for a consultation when I was in Belgium visiting his competitors.
  8. This was my approach but my hairloss was heading to a NW5 and I was a 4.5 at the time and yours appears to be heading to a NW6 so you are a trickier case. I don't take meds and never have - unless I am mistaken, @Melvin-Moderator doesn't take meds either and we both have great results. There are pros and cons to this approach though. You won't be able to get full coverage and/or you will have to have a conservative hairline.
  9. You should. He charges for his consultations though - it is about 120 euros. Worth every cent though. Bisanga has a reputation for that. Don't forget too, they are limited as to how accurate their assessment can be on photos. The in-person consultations will give you more accurate answers and estimates.
  10. What difference does it make? I would guess he has gone to a mill. Do you have a post-12 month picture of the same guy? As @Melvin-Moderator has told you, the mills have told you to wait, so wait. You are lucky that you look good with a shaved head so just keep it like that for 6-12 months and then reassess as it looks like you're only going to get worse.
  11. Not a fan of that hairline though - it is too straight - which tells me it probably wasn't a great clinic and so probably means not that ethical. You are making the right decision by waiting. Also, you are not every other 25 year old. People bald in different patterns and at different ages so stop comparing yourself to some random person you've not met and just look at yourself and when is the best time for you and who is the best clinic for you.
  12. They are working with him just now? This was two years ago!! What are they doing exactly to correct this?
  13. I am sure it feels that way now but you really are making the right decision and you will appreciate it in the long-run. Can you find somebody to buy your flight off you and just pay for a name change?
  14. Stay away from the UK clinics. Belgium is probably the best for highest concentration of price-quality ratio. There are the Spanish doctors too, but the waiting lists are insane. You can try Dra Ximena Vila in Spain who used to work with Dr Lorenzo, mentioned above, and did his transplant for him - not seen her work though but you can check her out. I went with Hattingen Hair in Switzerland after consulting with the usual suspects in Belgium, Dr Feriduni was the best of the Belgian lot and is definitely worth considering - great guy, consistent great results. I would check out Hattingen, Feriduni and if you are interested, Vila (but as I said, I only spoke to her, I haven't seen her work to comment on)
  15. I am shocked that you say you don't like Feriduni's work which is consistently good and then have clinics like DHI on there (avoid is my suggestion, by the way)?! Either way, whether you like his work or not, you should have a consultation with him. It is very thorough, his ethical reputation is widely known and he will give you the baseline that you can judge the comments from in the in-person consultations with the other clinics. It seems to me that you are choosing a clinic based on price and location, and those things, especially location, should not be deciding factors. I'd save up a little more and go to the best clinic for you (which may well still be one of those in your list) rather than going to them out of exogenous binding constraints. Hattingen is in Switzerland. I didn't look into their FUE (which they do offer) because I wanted FUT but they do world class FUT and also mega sessions, like a European H&W. Do check them out - you can find their results on the German and French fora.
  16. Multivitamins, whether for general health or for hair transplants, are a complete waste of time and money and don't work. Even a little bit of research on Google will show you this.
  17. My head was numb for months. Only really got full feeling back around 6 months. It only really irritated me until the staples came out after 2 weeks. I didn't need to take meds at all after I left the clinic. I would change Matt's "only slightly sore" to 1-2 months rather than 2-3 and for me it has been like it never happened from about the 8/9 month mark.
  18. A few questions/comments: 1) Do you want FUE or FUT? I am guessing FUE from the fact you are travelling to Europe for this and some of those clinics are FUE only but just so it is clear, which is your preference? 2) What is your budget? 3) Why are Dr Feriduni and Hattingen Hair not on your list???? You should at the very least have a consult with Feriduni. Of all the doctors I consulted with, his was the best consultation. I didn't go with him in the end but he has a reputation of being very ethical, his clinic was great and he does very, very good work. Hattingen do Skype consultations (I went with them in the end). 4) You will be waiting a long, long time for an answer from Dr de Freitas and even then, the waiting list is about a century (it is literally years) 5) If it is FUE, why not get in touch with Dra Ximena Vila? She used to charge 2.5 euros a graft and worked in Lorenzo's clinic for years. She even did his hair transplant but has since parted ways and opened up her own clinic in Madrid. I haven't personally seen her work but I would check her out, definitely. Those are some credentials. 6) What is your family history?
  19. Not sure of risk but I think it would be horrendous. After my first day I just wanted to go home. I am not sure of this but I wonder if the scalp still counts as a virgin scalp after the first day, in which case you lose some of the benefit.
  20. If you don't take the flight, you can claim the tax back on it and will have just lost the cost of the airfare
  21. Hasson every day of the week. I wouldn't go to Diep full stop, regardless of who the alternative was, but Hasson and Wong is arguably the best clinic in the world.
  22. The evidence for their efficacy is scarce but my opinion is, they can't hurt so in the very worst scenario there will be no net gain so it is a very low risk, low cost way of maybe getting the maximum out of the transplant. I also took collagen as I had FUT to try and help with the scar
  23. My dad is a NW5 and I had the pattern for NW5 and I don't take meds and I still had an FUT but conservative hairline to preserve grafts. Maybe take photos of your dad and brother (front, sides, back, top) with you so he can picture how your pattern may evolve and plan accordingly.
