  1. Yeah that is a great example. I really rate him highly and I am glad this guy got a good result for his repair job.
  2. You should! Plus it is cheaper than FUE. The scarring isn't minimal these days for the pure sake of being these days. You can, and do, see some really bad ones. However, you also see some shocking donors after FUE so this risk isn't something innate to FUT. In fact, somebody has posted a thread needing a repair job on their donor from FUE in the last day or two. The trick for either is to go with a top surgeon with a long track record. I assume from the time of your response you are in Europe. I would look at Hattingen and Feriduni is also good but he wouldn't do FUT on me. FUT is hard to find these days in Europe. There are also good options in the North America (cost more too though). Yeah, take a look at my thread and come back to me if you have any questions. My starting point is not to take meds so I am probably not the person to ask for an impartial opinion. That said, Minoxidil is only beneficial, if you see any benefit at all, for so long and they aren't even sure why it works. I would skip it. SMP might be complicated because of your hair colour. I would use it in conjunction with a transplant as it will give the illusion of great density (less scalp seen under the transplanted hair) rather than as a standalone treatment.
  3. Why is his name not used any more when people are talking about top clinics? There was a time when he was considered world class and a go-to option in Europe but now I see others being named who are either just flavour of the week (no track record.... yet) or clinics who I didn't think were anything particularly special when I was investigating for myself, and certainly not as good as Feriduni. What happened? I haven't seen anything to suggest his results have dropped in quality. Anybody have any insight? I consulted with him and thought both he and his clinic were amazing and he was incredibly honest and lived up to his reputation as being ethical. I used what he told me in his consultation as the benchmark against what other doctors told me at other consultations.
  4. I agree with @Melvin-Moderator, you should go for FUT/strip. If you go to a good clinic renowned for FUT mega-sessions and that consistently put out top results that have pencil line scars (Hattingen, H&W) the scar won't be an issue. You can't see mine at all (Hattingen) and I had 4400 grafts done as a NW5. Check out my thread on here for pics of my starting point, the donor and the result. You can FUE 100 grafts into the FUT scar after and shave it down even further then too. Hattingen do online consultations via Skype and H&W have reps that will look at you via Skype. The reason I think FUT for you is that ff you look at the back and sides of your head, you are thin/thinning around the sweet spot but the density right across your sweet spot is just fine. That last picture highlights it best. For you to get a mega-session with FUE, they are definitely going to have to go outside of the sweet spot or your donor will look a mess. This means they are going to implant hairs that are potentially going to continue thinning and then it will look shite in a few years as when they thin, they will be on top of your head or in your hairline. FUT is definitely the right option for you. You could add body/beard hair in the future too. Re. Fin - I think the risks outweigh the benefits for you. By taking it, you are messing with your endocrine system and testosterone is critical to so many functions in the body, especially in men. Google post-finasteride syndrome. Feriduni agreed with my decision not to take it precisely because of this issue. Many people say "just take it" but they are not doctors. Also, the doctors that do tell you to take it are looking at it from a hair transplant perspective and are not endocrinologists or looking at your taking it from a holistic perspective like a GP would (who probably wouldn't have the sub-specialty knowledge to make an informed recommedation anyway). Those are the risks and the benefit I mentioned is that you would have more time with the little hair you have left but it is so little it won't make much difference and it will likely go eventually anyway. Hence, I think the risks outweigh the benefits.
  5. Wise. I would avoid too. Black hair is already difficult to transplant without adding further complications/worries. You will know more than me as you will have researched it more than me (I am white) but most of the European surgeons, or at least the ones I spoke to, send their black patients to Lupanzula and Bisanga. I have seen a couple of results from Feriduni which were good and I would say, if you add Feriduni to the list above, that he is the best overall surgeon mentioned.
  6. I'd go with Konior out of the two you mentioned and you have such a large area to cover that I would definitely go with FUT even though you say your preference is for FUE. If you do want to go FUT, there are other clinics that we can recommend too. As Melvin says, try and get as many consultations as possible.
  7. Go with FUT. The scar from top clinics will be pencil thin anyway and you can also implant grafts (about 120) into the scar with FUE at a later date meaning you can shave the hair a bit shorter. Or even SMP. Your lifetime donor will last longer too with FUT. I had FUT from Hattingen and do not regret it all.
  8. OP - if you are happy shaving it, and it looks good on you, then I would do that. However, neither @Melvin-Moderator nor myself use drugs and we both have good results (check out my thread for Hattingen 4400 grafts FUT and Melvin's is well documented here and linked on his signature) so not taking drugs and getting a good result does not have to be just a dream.
  9. As I said on my other post earlier on this thread, although this may be what you want to hear, it is not good advice. The moderator of this forum agreed with my point too. Body hair and beard hair should be used as a last resort when you no longer have grafts in the safe zone from your donor on your head. You would be much better placed to get FUT from a clinic that is reputable. If you stay in NY, that is @Dr Blake Bloxham with H&W another in North America that you should definitely consider. If you want your money to go further, Hattingen in Europe and maybe even Feriduni but he rarely does FUT these days. This would mean travelling however which may not be what you want.
  10. You are not a 6 yet but you are very quickly heading that way. Check out Google Images or just look for a Norwood chart online.
  11. Yeah the town is lovely and the clinic also nice. Not just nice but it also has a lot of character because of the building it is in. I went to another clinic of a doctor on here and I wasn't as impressed. I will see what I can do when I get out there! I may actually have pictures of the town already to be honest. It is also very close to Europe's largest waterfall (one stop away on the train).
  12. Yeah everybody says that but I researched this for around 2-3 years before taking the plunge. When Feriduni highly recommended them when I was in a consultation with him, I knew he had to be good. I would post my own pics but I am in desperate need of a haircut at the moment (as I am sure we all are).
  13. Thanks for getting back to us. Good to hear he is trying to correct the mistake. Hopefully you get closure out of this. Why did it take two years, what are they proposing to do as it seems to be a difficult case to fix and what did he say went wrong?
  14. Hi! Re. Hattingen: This is not true - Dr Laura does the incisions and oversees the implants where as Dr Sever does the strip removal and hairline design.
  15. I will answer these our of order: 4) A couple of points here. First of all, "Eugenix are considered....." implies a consensus, not that this is the opinion of one person. Secondly, you didn't say FUE megasessions, you said megasessions in general. Specify in the future. I would still rather go to H&W over Eugenix for an FUE megasession but that's just me. 1 and 2) As you hold Melvin's opinion in such high regard, he happens to agree with me that FUT strip would have been best. See his comment above. 3) BHT is supposed to be a last resort in extreme/desperate situations for those who have depleted/poor donors and/or need a repair job and so need to find the extra grafts and not a first port of call
  16. Sorry to hear this. Three months is too early to say and you will have a better idea at the 6 month mark but can't really say anything until 9 months to be honest. The redness fades with time and the speed of that depends on your biology, surgeon skill and how well you followed post-surgery protocol. I understand you are concerned but unfortunately hair transplants don't work that way and the only thing you can do is wait now, which is also not what you want to hear.
  17. World class clinic. Sever is involved in the extraction of the strip and Laura makes the incisions and oversees the implants. Sever said she is much better at the incisions than him and it makes sense because the OP's post surgery pics are very clean and my own pics, a bigger case than the OP's, are also very clean (check my thread out). Looking good and on track. Excellent choice of clinic too - well done. I had mine done there 18 months ago. If you are curious, I have made a post on here with my story and you can see my result. I think it is the most advanced story you will see on this site from this clinic as everybody else was a few months behind me on going to Hattingen. Please check out my thread and let me know what you think.
  18. COVID-19 cancelled my travel plans to the clinic in March for my final review and to have the final result photos taken. When this is all over, I will be arranging another trip over and I will post the photos then. Sorry about this!
  19. Don't go to the third world just to save some money. Eugenix is a good clinic, from the results I have seen, but they are definitely not considered the best in the world for megasessions. How many grafts are you getting for your $12-14k at Bosley and Maxim Hair (which you shouldn't go to)? I don't know what Dr Bloxham charges, but I would seriously recommend that you consult with him first as you are in NY, even if you do not decide to go with him. I am not sure how much H&W cost. 12k euros/$12.5k will get you 4000 grafts with Hattingen and then the rest of your budget can be for flights and a hotel. You will need more than one transplant, regardless of who you go to. This is not something you want to go cheap on. I was in Istanbul in In February and the amount of shite hair transplants walking around the place was amazing. And also sad as pretty much every one of them I saw without exception will need a corrective procedure in a year or two. This will mean it will cost twice as much for a result that is half as good. Save up or go with a quality surgeon or adjust your expectations accordingly.
  20. Don't go to Bosley or Maximhair. If you are staying in NY then definitely check out @Dr Blake Bloxham . He even posts on this site so you could ask him questions on here before contacting him personally. Really good results but does not do mega sessions which I think you want/need H&W are the obvious candidate for FUT megasessions as you are already in North America. Hattingen Hair are also world class and also specialists in FUT megasessions but are based in Switzerland, so you'd have to travel. Dr Sever does Skype consultations. I had mine done here and you can see my 9 month results on a post I did. It has actually be 18 months but when I was going to go to the clinic for my final check up and for the final result photos last month, COVID-19 hit.
