  1. Looks like good work - clean - well spaced. It should be a good result. Keep us posted as it progresses! You will be the envy of the AARP crowd...
  2. Have you checked out the 'Find a Prescreened Physician' section up above on the webpage? Any of those pre-screened Docs will give you an industry standard job - but finding a physician 'near you' should be the last consideration. You are making a lifetime commitment to your most precious resource - your head. Consider looking up and down the Eastern Seaboard and Go West, young man. You need a wide array of choices to choose from. There are some excellent choices - but as for advice, at this point all we know is that you are thinning on top - (that's a large area...) and not keen to travel. Take some pics and post them here - you'll get a lot of comments AND advice on what you probably need and how best to achieve it from the Pros here! You'll get some bonehead replies also...
  3. I'm late to this party but that's as good as it gets, man. That hairline should serve you well into middle and old ages!
  4. Why pay to advertise when you can just hijack a thread? Way to go Silax - looking forward to all your helpful posts.
  5. What we see in the mirror is never an accurate representation of what others see. Keep an eye on your hairline of course, but it looks good, normal, to me.
  6. I think you're just fine - you have 'neck' or 'nape' hair that simply runs into your 'scalp' hair. It's just difficult to tell where one starts and the other stops - you are a perfect candidate for a cool longer style or daily shaving back there.
  7. A rinse is a temporary coloring lasting 5-6 shampoos - it contains color pigments that stain the outer layer (cuticle) of the hair. Hair color dyes contain color molecules that deposit into the middle layer (cortex) of the hair through a chemical process. It's a temporary solution that lets you decide how a color can look.
  8. In six more months you will be over the moon. When you get back, write us!
  9. Absolutely! Are you covering gray, highlighting, or changing the color completely? Years ago I used to do a light rinse in summer to bring out the blondes.
  10. Melvin has suggested I re-introduce myself here as I have been away for a while and there are a lot of new faces around. If you're interested in the journey of a 70 year old man who Finally decided at 64 to get a HT, read on. Firstly, I love giving advice and encouragement to anyone who seeks it and I will always try to elicit a raised eyebrow or smile when possible. I have had two (2) HT's and from the onset I knew that I had to react to my age - and not try to recreate my 17 year old self - and present my appearance as a mature man with age appropriate hair. Recognizing that I do not have the available grafts or the time to create a picket fence of lush hair 3 inches above my eyebrows - I wanted to create a guy who has a mature hairline, (I have always had a high forehead) a bit of recession, but overall a basically non-noticeable head of hair. Alas, my hair is Thin and Light Brown/Blonde/Grey - not a good combo for a Hair Surgeon to work with - but no one has ever accused me of having any work done. The work isvery natural. I am quite happy with my hair and looking back at what I started with I have no reason not to be. I could afford another if I wanted to but I'm giving my head a rest - and at my age a lot of parts need rest. 2400 FUT grafts into the front in March 2014, 2500 FUT into the front , midscalp area and a bit in the crown in April 2016. Here is a pictorial map of the trip.Keep in mind, I'm somebody's Great Grandpa!
  11. In the hands of a good ethical surgeon, he will excise the 1st scar to make one new one - I can't even see mine and I have had two. Multiple scars have no place in modern FUT.
  12. 10 guys here all say no. But you keep coming back with reasons and they still say no. I'll be as gentle in my response as I can. NO!!!
  13. My 2nd HT was to do exactly what you want - transplant more hair into already planted areas. I had no scarring or pitting or any trouble beforehand so it was like virgin territory. Go do it!
  14. I used an off-branded nice enough guy in Huntington Beach for my 1st in 2014 and escaped lucky enough with good results - but for #2 I went to Dr Mohebi In Encino - give his website a look and see what all he does. I certainly happy with my result - he has a patient advocate here who can give you more info!
  15. I think there is a difference between 'bargain hunting' and 'lowest cost' choices. The 'Bargain Hunter' should have in mind the final outcome and studiously compare and decide where to get a HT within his budget range , and the 'Lowest Cost' guys will be motivated by the cost only and convince themselves they will succeed. There are reputable clinics ($$) in Turkey that are not 'mills', and then there are the other 'untested' places ($) - and then there are recognized first class places ($$$$) also all over the globe. Educating yourselves and knowing the risks should always be forefront and price then a careful consideration- but not the deciding factor. If price is the only deciding factor - you will probably receive due value.
  16. There is no reason to use styling product unless you want to sport a style that needs it - a natural wash and let it go look is achievable - so yes it is possible. If my hair was short I could do that exact thing with no concern. But my hair now is a Covid-19 lockdown disaster.
  17. Since Donor Hair is removed from it's original position on your head, that place is now barren - it does not regenerate. This is why in the hands of a skilled artistic Hair Surgeon, the missing hair is unnoticeable. In FUT, the scar should be extremely thin and in an area that will be covered by surrounding growth and in FUE they are spread out among the jungle of hair that surrounds it.
  18. Yes you can - a quick glance at any High School Yearbook will inevitably reveal some guys with hairlines that are maturing - we're all different. It's understandable that at 16 you're concerned, but revisit your concern in 10 years. Seriously. Else you will start getting really weird and start losing friends.
