  1. I was under the impression there is a linear scar with any FUT, some are just less noticeable. Do you have photos of your results by chance?
  2. Hello Dr. Khokhar, My issue with FUT is the scar it will likely leave. If I finally get a HT, I want it to be nearly impossible to tell.
  3. Any surgeons in particular that maybe you know of? Unfortunately I am not a fan of flying and I’m not sure how well I would do with traveling to a foreign country for something like that.
  4. Hi all, So I’ll preface this by saying that I am no wealthy man, but I really want to get an FUE transplant in the near future. I’ve got some money in the bank, but I don’t make a whole hell of a lot, so this is a big expense. I found a clinic in LA called “LA FUE Hair Clinic” that has some pretty solid results posted and is relatively cheap considering transplant costs in California/US for FUE transplants. (https://lafuehairclinic.com) This clinic posts videos explaining the process and everything, which is really cool, but obviously with the price being cheaper, I’m curious what exactly I’m missing, if anything. There was one patient in particular whose results really blew me away after I watched the video and caught up to his final results. I notice one of the main surgeons there is not an Md, too, so I’m wondering if maybe they’re a bit more amateur...? Sorry, I’m kind of new to this, so I appreciate any insight.
  5. Hi all, I'm considering an FUE transplant In the future, but I’m worried that if I lose my hair down the line and need to shave my head anyway, it’ll be noticeable. I want to see what people’s shaved doner sites look like once they’ve healed. Thanks
  6. Hi all, I’m new here and I have a few questions. I’m 29/M with darker brown hair and my hairline has been going noticeably (to me) for about 6 years, but I’ve reached another shedding phase which I am realizing will soon result in my inability to hide my hair loss. I’ve been on finasteride for a few years, minoxidil for about six years, and various other things (2% shampoo, vitamins, etc.). I’m not sure if it’s a change in finasteride meds (last refill was different pills) or what, but the shedding is definitely back in full force and I have a good amount of cash to my name and am seriously considering an FUE transplant. I don’t know that I want to travel (internationally at least) - there seem to be plenty of good doctors just in California, it’s just a matter of how much money each one wants. I had a consult with Bosley (not going through them) and have talked to IAHRS-member Dr. Dauer in Los Angeles. He seems good, great results, but he recommends 1500 grafts at a flat $12,000. This seems a bit high, but he’s accredited and experienced. In any case, beyond recommendations, I am looking for general guidance in this process, as I’ve just decided to seriously look at transplant options. What should I know? What worked for you? What do doctors not tell you? What misconceptions are common? What secrets are there to restorations, etc.? Thanks
