Hi everyone, I am 26 years old and considering a hair transplant (FUT, recommended 2500 grafts by Dr Cooley in Charlotte, NC). I am receding in front hair line and also thinning slighty in crown area, althought the worst is definitely the front third of my head. I wear my hair relatively long so I am able to hide the receding temples pretty well at this point. But when my hair gets wet or is not fixed, it bothers me very much. I wear a hat most days as I am very self-conscious about my hairline appearance. I have been on Propecia (1mg 3x per week) for about 9 months and rogaine once

Hi, everyone. I'm 24 years old and in 2 months I'll be 25. I started to lose my hair from the age of 18-19. My father and grandfather suffered from alopecia too, but their baldness finished on the level of 4A Norwood. I've been reading a lot of topics on this forum and I've realised that the later you get your transplantation the better for you. Right now I'm wearing a haircut which cover my bald areas (as I thought), but lately a couple of my friends mentioned that "something wrong with my haircut". I have never used any kinds of meds, which could help in my situation. So I have a severa

Hi people of the hair transplant community, I am going to visit a doctor in a few weeks. I have spoken to him on phone, after looking at my pictures he said you should go for FUE because of the scar. I do no want to just go for it just because he said so. I want advice from you guys who have experience with each procedure. I will attach my pictures so you could see my current situation. Here are the main concerns I have: 1. Scars in FUE vs FUT? 2. Which procedure will give me a more natural and dense look? 3. How has your experience been with either FUE or FUT?

30 year old looking for advice
Lakershead22 posted a topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Hello, It's been three years of trying finasteride and I think it's time for a hair transplant. My GF talked me out of it three years ago and said to wait until I am 30. I noticed that on some of the pics I uploaded in 2017, my left side has gone up a little more. I was quoted 1,000 grafts by a doctor on this site. Based on the images I provided, would that goal still be probable or will the number of grafts have to be increased just to fill in the corners of my hairline? The first image is my left side in 2017, and the second image is the comparison of the same side as it looks- 24 replies

I'm 25 and decided to shave my head as I currently cannot get a haircut. I usually have thick medium hair. My hairline is completely fine, however the back of my hair, particularly just below the crown looks patchy and very see through, particularly in the light.I usually have a cowlick crown and the hair towards the back of the crown usually sticks up. Is it a bit patchy due to the way I cut the hair, or is it due to the way my hair grows? My hair is wavvy and usually growns in different directions. When I run my hands through the hair there, it doesn't feel any different. Doesn't feel like th

Hello! I have been interested in a hair transplant for 2 years. I am 24 years old, and my hair loss has halted since I started taking Finasteride 2 years ago and Minoxidil 1 year ago. See images here: https://imgur.com/a/Hbb8qSL. Currently, I am planning on getting an FUE procedure with Dr. Koray Erdogan. His clinic is recommending 2500-3200 grafts and settled on 3000. I am concerned this might be a bit much but I also like the idea of not having to get another transplant later. He will be doing the hole incisions himself and his surgical staff is doing the implantation.

Hi Guys, I had been thinking about having a hair transplant for years... and 2 weeks ago i finally did it. I did so much research and was lucky that a friend of mine also had surgery with the same surgeon. The entire experience was so easy and the procedure was painless (slight discomfort from the initial injection for anaesthetic). I wanted to share the pictures and see what you guy think - the next few months are going to feel a little odd whilst i wait for results so any advice and words of encouragement would be appreciated! I've uploaded pics of before (with the line

Hair was like this from about 15. It doesn't get any worse but I feel like the temples are too bald, and also the hairline is higher than usual. Almost 25 now, based in south of Europe and the prices are like 2-2.5 Euro per graft here. Not sure how much will I need - 1500 for the temples? Tried minoxidil and some basic tablets to no help (was like a year). Doesn't seem to reced even without any treatment now or to thin, but I certainly believe that something is definitely off, giving an unpleasant look, making me also looking older in a bad way. Open to any recommendations. To c

Hello, I have no other place and no other people to ask for opinions. I want to tell you my story, and I want opinions on what I should do based on my case; I am 20 years old. I've had a very receded and high hairline since birth, I've always somewhat of a bald head. I have very receded temples, and a very high frontal hairline. It has killed my confidence since I was a child, till today. Of course, now, I have some products to help me hide it and some style I do. But, it takes me literally around 1-2 hours EVERYDAY to fix it to somehow hide my baldness. It frustrates me, drains me

Hey! So, 3 years ago I had 2 procedures with an Australian surgeon. The final results are not good and I am looking to get my HT fixed. I am feeling very overwhelmed by differing opinions, experience of others and the many options. To those who have had success getting great transplants my question is this... Q. What process did you use to research and decide upon a surgeon and procedure that ultimately gave you great results? Any experience you can share would be greatly appreciated!

Hi There, Long story short, I have 3 questions: 1.) Can this Hair Transplant be fixed? 2.) What needs to happen to fix it? 3.) Can you recommend a surgeon to do it? - Please check out the photos (all recent) Dry Hair, Wet Hair, In bright Sunlight etc - I am willing to go pretty much anywhere in the world. Any advice greatly appreciated. Now that's out of the way, here's some more info: In 2014 I had 1000 grafts, and after another 18months I got another 300 free from the same surgeon. Now that some time has passed and I have some

When transplanting new follicles between native thinning hairs, they are prone to shockloss... is this shockloss permanent to the thinning hairs or will they come back from being dormant and continue to grow out for years to come, until they excessively minituarize? Thanks in in advance for any information Ryan

I know a lot of people will call me mad at 23 to undergo a transplant.. but answer me this.. If i don't get a transplant and TRY.. I self consciously will shave my head in the near future because my thinning is too progressed. This will leave me with a SHAVED HEAD. If I get a fue graft procedure and it works in my favour.. I will restore lost confidence within myself and restored hair for at least some years to come.. if the transplant causes shock loss and doesn't work out as well as I had planned I can still SHAVE MY HEAD.. leaving me in the same situation i would be in if

Hello, I've been flicking through many of these threads while conducting my research into the best approach for managing/correcting my receding hairline. I'm 25 and from the UK. I've been taking Finasteride for about 6 months but am unsure as to the results. I appear to be shedding hair still. Is this normal? I've had a few consultations already and have been advised that to restore my hairline I will require 2000 grafts in a transplant procedure. I have a good, thick, donor area and no loss on the crown. I would like to know whether it is advisable for me to opt for a transp

Hello folks, Firstly thanks to everyone who provide their opinions regularly on this forum, although this is my first post many of you have provided me with a lot of useful information over the past couple of years. My story: Currently 22 years old male from London, started losing my hair at a very young age, got an FUE transplant at the age of 21!! In this thread I do not want to say who was my chosen surgeon, as I am going to write a full thread on my experience and before/after pictures etc. So at the time of my transplant I was on propecia, but unfortunately I had to

Hello. Lately, I've lost the 5th part of what I had had. Probably because of huge stress. Now I have to force myself to go out because I feel so ugly. How to hide it? I don't want to go aIways in the hat. And yesterday I saw on YouTube the girl with very thin hair curl it, and it created an illusion she has more hair. Can it work? And she used a curling iron. But I am afraid. Though, according to the professional curling irons reviews , this device shouldn't damage hair a lot. Or isn't it true? What would you suggest? I don't want to lose my left hair because of heat devices:(

Hi everyone, I'm new to posting this page but not new to the experiences you all have faced! I decided to undergo a FUE procedure and I've followed all the aftercare instructions. It has been 2 months since the procedure and I wash my hair usually now and soak it in a little oil as my scalp has become incredibly dry. Since the op, no grafts have fallen and they have grown, but over the last week I've noticed that 3-4 tiny sharp implanted hairs have fallen out. I'm very very worried that I'm losing grafts, or this normal for them to fall out after 2 months? If someone could please provide so

Hi Everyone I'm 38 years old, from the UK, but currently living in Vietnam. I had my first and only FUT treatment approx 6 years ago in the UK at Transform in Manchester. I had approx 2500 grafts as I was quite thin on top and around the crown. The treatment worked well and got me to a stage i was happy with. The doctor told me that the remainder of my hair would fall out at some point and i would need a 2nd treatment. Well, i think that time has come! I'd researched in to my 2nd treatment and found Dr Radhi in India, but for some personal reasons of Dr Radhi's, she failed to continue

Hey everyone - I'm a male and just turned 23 a little over a month ago and really need some advice on the hair transplant process. I've done my fair share of research throughout the years and wanted to go through with this since I was 21. I've had a norwood 7 since I was 21 and I've been balding since I was about 17 or 18 years old. I can't even begin to express how much this experience has sucked in all areas of my life. I've left some questions below and any help would be greatly appreciated. I would normally cut all of my hair off but I let it grow out recently. 1. My hair i

Hi there, so 18 months ago I got 1000 grafts to my hairline. now I am going back to get another 300 free of charge as I felt that the hairline was a bit 'sudden' and looks to obvious in some lighting situations, and the front inch or so is too thin But any extra eyes could help me with this ie: what should I ask for? I am thinking that the hairline is too straight and the front inch too thin.... please view the album of images and tell me what you think... thanks for your help!

Hi, I had 3 HTs at the age of 20,21 and 22 in the years 1983-1985. A large regret. I will say this to any young man reading. Do not rush into a HT! Postpone it by using the many options that were not available in my day. I think the hair transplant I received was descent for its time, but still obvious and "pluggy". Luckily the surgeon was competent and gave me what I consider a good hairline (not too low). I have been considering another HT for many years and have been to probably 6 or 7 consultations over the years here in the Atlanta Georgia area. I am a Norwood VI and I do NOT
