  1. I know many feel dependent on hair growth and retention medications but I've never had any medications prior or after my surgeries nearly 10 years ago. I also haven't noticed any hair loss in the recipient area. Everyone has different experiences, but just wanted to share mine.
  2. Good responses and I especially agree with "JoeMan". My recipient area felt numb for many months and I'm sure it never recovered 100% but I've also never had an issue with it or felt it was detrimental in any way. Hopefully you will fully recover and not have any issues as well.
  3. After my second surgery, the first night I scratched out about a dozen grafts in my sleep. The small number was inconsequential but after that I took a light string and looped it around my wrist and ran it under my waistline and tied a loop around my other wrist when I went to bed that night. I really didn't realize it was on my hands but it did not allow me to reach my head during my sleep. Worked for me!
  4. All things in moderation, but it should have ZERO impact on your transplant.
  5. So hard to tell at this point and 1,500 grafts are not unusual for the area you show in the picture. Let's see how it looks in a couple months. Be patient, it will most likely be just fine.
  6. I've never heard of alcohol having any specific affect on hair growth.
  7. Totally agree with "pkipling". My first surgery was 2.5 days and over 5,000 grafts. So glad I did it all at once.
  8. Keep us posted. Interesting case, let us know what you plans are when you decide on a course of action.
  9. How many grafts do you expect to need in the crown area?
  10. I was a Norwood VI as well but with good donor areas. I agree that the beard hair would most likely be harvested but your donor looks really thin. Get some more consultations (including virtual consultations) and please let us know what they say. I hope someone can set up a viable plan but we all learn from everyone. Thanks for sharing your story.
  11. You were very similar to me. Take a look at my progress over time on my website (below). Go to the archives and check it out. By the way, I've never had any medications for hair loss. Good luck and keep us posted.
  12. Just remember your head will continue to be numb for many weeks. Just be careful and if you bump your head, check it out, you may not feel it if you scratch your scalp.
  13. I had surgery 2.5 days in a row back in 2012 without any issues and much success. I had a second surgery two years later. Six months of healing should be fine especially if the work is done on another area. I was glad to get it all done in one lengthy session (over 5,000 grafts).
  14. I was a Norwood 6 and it worked out great for me. Good luck with your decision. Check out my website... MyFUEhairtransplant.com
  15. Punch size of 0.7 is a good size. You may have some transections (damaged follicles) which is normal. The doctor should take additional grafts to make up for the few transections. You should be fine. You will see no noticeable scarring down the road with a 0.7 or 0.8 punch size.
  16. I am so happy for you! I'm sure you were very apprehensive even doing a 2nd procedure. Glad you found a competent doctor who could totally transform your appearance. Good for you. Congrats.
  17. When I had my surgeries, there was a large digital count on the wall. Dr Vories extracted every graft himself and I believe he had a foot-peddle which would record each extraction on the wall for everyone to see. I would contact the clinic prior to posting who performed the surgery. There could be a very reasonable explanation of what happened. Keep us posted.
  18. Or...the outcome is very good and he is very satisfied and has no reason to look back on the website. Hope he logs on and posts some update photos.
  19. Your punch area will heal up nicely and no one will notice in a few weeks. You have a lot to look forward to in 3-4 months.
  20. Yes, you're probably over-thinking. Contact your hair surgeon with that question.
