  1. Get used to seeing several of these going forward. Try to resist squeezing them and let the natural process work.
  2. Depending on your goals and the fact that the crown is always a challenge I would agree that 3-4K grafts would yield nice results.
  3. I totally agree with the others, you should be seeing some growth at this point. You could however be in the very low percentage that experiences late growth. Let's hope you see new growth very soon. Keep us posted.
  4. I saw evidence of new growth at the 14th week after my first surgery. The growth was a little slower to emerge after my 2nd surgery. Just be patient.
  5. Maybe I was just lucky, but I've never had any medications for hair prior to surgery or post surgery. My first surgery was 9 years ago. I also didn't experience any noticeable shock loss. Again, maybe I'm just lucky but I never wanted to have to take medications for hair loss or retention. I do respect doctors recommendations for others. I wonder how many others on this website experienced great growth and retention of hair without meds.
  6. I'm assuming your surgeon only took grafts from the left side of your head (based on the pictures)? I would have thought he would take equal number of grafts from the left and right side of your head. Could be shock-loss. I had no discernible shock-loss but many do. Time will tell. Hang in there. Could be just fine in a few short months.
  7. I've been posting on this site for many years now. I had my surgery in 2012 at Carolina Hair Surgery with Dr. Michael Vories. He does every extraction and insertion himself and has a great tech staff. He has a clinic in Charleston SC and Charlotte NC. Dr. Vories has many posts including before/after photos on this website. I traveled from Kentucky to Charleston to have my surgery. You can see all my results on my website which has been viewed over 378,000 times. MyFUEhairtransplant.com Good luck with your decision.
  8. Looks like you want a stronger hairline and crown area? As Melvin says... what are your goals?
  9. Regarding your pictures....looks good. That pinkish area will fade over time.
  10. I have never applied any topical or taken any oral supplement for hair growth. I just didn't want to take any other medications the rest of my life. I had my transplant about 9 years ago and my wife who's a hairdresser says she sees no difference in the transplanted areas since my surgery. I know a lot of doctors recommend these drugs but I had no interest in taking anything and it has worked beautifully....for me. Good luck.
  11. I just went back in my blog where I posted updates on a daily and weekly basis after my 1st surgery in 2012. I first reported new hairs poking through at the 7 weeks and 3 days after surgery. I included close up pictures and videos. You can take a look at my website listed below. Congrats on your new growth!
  12. Looking forward to the post operative report!
  13. Just be patient, whether they grow or fall out, it won't be a significant amount and you will never notice in a few months. You will be fine...don't worry.
  14. I'm sure there are good surgeons in your area such as the ones mentioned in the other posts, but with the cost of transplants, don't hesitate to travel somewhere else to get it done. An extra $400 isn't much to add to the cost. I traveled from Kentucky to South Carolina. I think Dr. Vories rates are still around $4-5 per graft. I would only assume the cost is much greater in the Chicago area. I had over 7,000 grafts transplanted about 9 years ago. Dr. Vories does all the extractions and insertions himself. Best of luck to you, I'm sure you'll make a decision your comfortable with.
  15. Glad to hear you're recovering well. If you want to monitor your progress and compare to mine, check out my website and look back in the archives. I chronicled the entire event day to day in the beginning and bi-monthly after that. My website is listed below. Looking forward to your updates on this website for all to see.
  16. Looking forward to seeing your progress. Be patient...you have lots to look forward to in a few months.
  17. Everything looks normal. Yes..you will experience plenty of small pimples over time. Just let them take a normal healing process and refrain from "messing" with them. Occasionally you will have a difficult one but most will come and go in a few days. That redness on top will stay with you for several weeks. It's perfectly normal and indicates "percolation" under the skin. Looking forward to your updates each month or so. Happy growing.
  18. 2,000+ grafts should make your frontal area look 100% better. Best of luck and send us pictures during your journey. I'm not a fan of hair loss meds but many doctors advocate for them. I had my surgery 9 years ago and have never taken anything for hair loss.
  19. I think it looks great! I wouldn't want to spend the extra cash on another transplant at this point.
  20. I had a total of 7,125 grafts about 9 years ago. I limited the number of grafts in the crown area because its the least seen area of the head but I had pretty good coverage. I've never had any meds for hair loss. I'm sure they work for some but I was never interested in taking meds forever. You can see my progress every day after the surgery and beyond. My website has been viewed over 330,000 times. Look in the archives area of the website and look at September 2012 and beyond to get an idea of coverage over time. My website is MyFUEhairtransplant.com. Thanks for your interest and keep us posted on this website.
  21. That crown area is so difficult to cover. Good luck with that and your decision going forward.
  22. Hard to tell from one angle but it looks pretty good to me at this point. Post a few more angles if you can.
  23. Looks like you have healed very well and everything looks cleanly done. I didn't experience any shock loss but many do. Those hairs will return over time of course. Be patient and you will be pleasantly surprised in about 3-4 months. Send us more pictures throughout your journey.
