  1. some outstanding examples of FUE mega sessions - great work - do all FUE mega sessions require multiple day surgeries or can 4-5k grafts be done in one sitting as of now?
  2. Damn! such a beautiful result, I don't think you even need a 2nd pass through your result is so good! but I know how you feel about trying to get it better ... I just passed a month on a 2nd FUE with Dr. Rahal after he rebuilt my frontal zone, I decided I wanted more behind it to cover the crown .. we always seem to want more!?!? The naturalness of Dr. Konior's work is literally jaw dropping.. congrats man
  3. I just had a second HT so I'm still using baby shampoo for the 1st month, but before that I was using Regenpure DR (hair & scalp treatment) in combination with the NT (nourishing) as a daily shampoo regiment - definitely saw an improvement and intend to get back on it as soon as I can - just wondering if using DR daily is a bit of overuse? I did feel some itchiness on the back of my scalp occassionally - do you guys recommend only 3 x per week? is the active ingredient - Ketoconazole - which I believe is also in Nizoral - too harsh on the scalp for daily use?
  4. nice conservative design, and realistic outcome based on the patient's high NW, of course you focus on the frontal zone to start - you can't and should not attempt to cover the entire balding scalp in one procedure - its not realistic or medically feasible to extract and implant that many grafts in one sitting. As Cant Decide indicated, another session to address the area behind the frontal zone with another 2 or 2.5k grafts, this will be an "excellent" outcome
  5. i don't think you do understand. beard hairs are not used as a first option and they are not the "standard" in hair transplantation when you have a good donor supply as you do - beard hairs may be considered a "last option" if your donor is depleted - and they will still will be subpar to your head hair - best of luck to you
  6. whether you mentioned it first or not, I believe any reputable physician would have steered you away from that option as not being the best plan of attack for your situation, just as nearly everyone who replied in this thread is doing
  7. I don't know the competency or reputation of the doctor that suggested beard grafts for you, but that is absolutely absurd when you have such great hair characteristics and a full and undepleted donor - do yourself a favor and steer clear of beard grafts -
  8. counting the "dots" don't necessarily add up to your graft count - those grafts were cut up into 1, 2, 3 or 4 hair follicular units, you need to ask your doctor or clinic for your final hair count .. how many's 1's, 2's, 3's, etc.
  9. agreed, I would consider that a nice result - but its the patient's expectations that need to be satisfied or brought in line with reality - as I always remind people, any HT is simply an "illusion" of density..
  10. My left and right sides on my front grew in at different times, drove me crazy at the beginning, but after the 3-4 and into the 5-6 month mark, it all began to blend in or "blossom". You're ahead of schedule and you look like you're in for a really nice final result. Patience is the hardest part - wear a hat for 3 months and don't even worry about it! You already did the hardest part..
  11. I've seen FUT scars (like mine) where the donor was taken not in the mid-scalp or what you call the "permanent zone" but outside that area. Particurlary those with multiple FUT surgeries, I've seen scars above the ears. My first procedure was an FUT and my donor scar is almost at the nape of my neck, this is certainly not the "permanent zone". Whereas, my recent FUE surgery, all harvested grafts were taken from the "safe zone" - the area of the donor which is not as susceptible to DHT and therefore the hairs are not genetically programmed to fall out. Some of what you're discussing above between FUE and FUT is not very accurate.
  12. great artistry work and great option for guys .. have you ever done SMP just to a smaller bald spot on the crown for a bit of concealment or reduction of the crome dome look?
  13. yeah i got all the cons you guys have been stressing - all the FUE results I've seen from Rahal's patients are not "a flip of the coin" - they are as consistent as his FUT results - its a combination of his surgical skill and procedure technique, post op care, etc. I think its very disingenous to suggest otherwise when you have the procedure done by a reputable, skilled surgeon - otherwise FUE would not be a viable option that only seems to be growing in demand not vice versa.
  14. then if there is no physiological issue and he can grow well with an FUT procedure, he should be able to grow just as well with an FUE procedure that is performed properly - ie. where grafts are not damaged in the harvesting process and are implanted within a short period of having been extracted- I had FUE with only 2k grafts to my frontal zone - while I knew I wasnt going to get a dense result, I certainly got good coverage and an excellent growth yield - the doctor doing the procedure and a proven technique is the key - I'm thankful to Dr. Rahal for my excellent result and I'm proof FUE can be a success
  15. I was honest with my close family and closest friends - sounds like you got a good thing going - talk to her about it and why you decided to do it - the more support you have the better!
  16. isn't post op care essential in either FUT or FUE? cleaning regiment, keeping grafts constantly hydrated for the first few weeks, etc. of course it matters - I know some docs or clinics who provide very detailed post op instructions and materials, while others provide NIL..
  17. you can't really take follicles to close above or below a scar because even when someone's hair grows out later, you've "thinned out" this area out even further and the scar will become more easily visible.. so essentially docs or techs will try and steer away from follicles/grafts in close proximity of the FUT scar
  18. you got some excellent growth from your 6 to 8 month mark - outstanding! and a perfect example of how you can achieve great yields from FUE in the hands of a skilled surgeon.
  19. you wear your hair so short, even FUE surgeries leave scars - albeit small white dots - do you want to do that to the back of your head? I doubt you'll be able to shave it as far down as you do now without there being some small signs of surgery. Remember any HT surgery is merely an "illusion" of density - at the expense of your donor area in the back & sides. And for most of us, in order to pull off that illusion, we normally have to wear your hair a little longer than how you wear yours - any surgery is always a personal thing, my biggest regret was doing a small procedure in my mid 20's that I had to chase to keep up to and had to have corrected as well -
  20. don't mess with God's perfection - I would not consider undergoing HT sugery if I were in your shoes -
  21. all that matters is that you're happy - but it truly looks fantastic! enjoy..
  22. Janna, if anyone at my job looked like you, I'd want to get back to work in a hurry too
  23. TD - I hope you resolve your issue with Dr. Arocha. Hopefully its simply an issue of adding some density to your hairline to hit the mark you want to achieve. I know it could be disappointing, but look at the bright side, at least you weren't butchered in a botched up or bad surgery, etc. If you need another 1k grafts, you could probably easily achieve this thru an FUE procedure as well. Best wishes to you and hope you're able to work out your issues with Dr. Arocha - who from all prior posts here, seems to be very reputable.
  24. Dr. Rahal in Ottawa does amazing hairlines and also does FUE manually - I may be biased because he did my surgery, but I'd give him some consideration for at least a consultation.
