  1. Tough to tell. Get some good close up photos and submit them to some clinics to look at. When I did my first consult with SMG and others, I submitted a series of photos that included some close ups of the donor. The clinics can make a preliminary assessment of your donor with good photos which is pretty reliable but the final analysis will be in person. Your scalp laxity will also be a factor in how big of a session can be done in one setting.
  2. Mickey, you are a great contributor to this forum and I truly did not mean anything disrespectful by my post. I had not read Pupdaddy's post when I made my first post and I tried to clarify my intent in response to scar5. The reality of it is that I did not take a position one way or the other on the tools of the trade so to speak. The various types of tools seem to work well for different clinics who use them and produce consistent great outcomes. I love the work of some of the top surgeons that prefer the manual tools and would not hesitate to have FUE done by most of the ones that are mentioned. Sorry that it seemed that I derailed your thread as that was not my intent. All is good my friend.

  4. As others have said, it largely depends on your available donor and hair characteristics as to how much you need to get the coverage you want. I think it is wise to do the front first. Depending on your available donor you can probably get some coverage on your crown, though it may be thinner than you would like. It does appear that your hair loss is more extensive than the example in the SMG photo. Consult with a few top clinics and that will help you better understand what can be accomplished in your particular case. Based on these consultations, you can figure out how to proceed and which clinic is best for you.
  5. You obviously misinterpreted my post and I completely disagree with everything you have said in the post quoted above that is critical of me and my opinion. My post did not attack anything you said and I respect your opinion. You have done your research and have your preferences which is great. Neither of us are experts on this topic......that is my point and people reading this should understand that. In fact, your statement that my post is like telling people to go in blind could not be furher from the point I was making.

  7. I have said this in other threads on other topics also. I like the discussions, but someone new doing their research might look at some of these discussions differently than people who have been around looking at this and other topics and doing research for a long time. The information is good, but people could read these opinions as fact vs. peoples own personal opinions and preferences. It is not a disclaimer, but in my opinion a good word of caution for people when reading this and other threads on this or any forum.

  9. It is very important for all readers to realize that this thread is about opinions of posters who are HT patients or people interested in the process. I do not mean that as critical in any way, but patients, including myself, are not experts. There are a lot of outstanding doctors using both methods getting excellent results. Do your own research and come to your own conclusions about what is right for you.

  11. Enjoyed reading your blog about your transformation. Last year, at the age of 54, I decided I wanted to become a triathlete, which has gotten me in better shape than I have been in 20 years! The one missing piece for me has been diet changes. One of my teammates was telling me yesterday that she recently had gone on a gluten free diet.
  12. Great transformation. Looks like a different person. I like the shorter cut also.
  13. Thank you Levrais....I appreciate it. I am looking forward to a couple months or so down the road when the growth starts. It is really amazing how fast the recovery from FUE is.
  14. I definitely believe it helped my crown area and has reduced or stopped my thinning
  15. Thanks guys. I really appreciate the comments. Can't Decide.....all the best with your upcoming surgery. I look forward to following your progress.
  16. Photos two weeks post FUE. The strip scar is not visible. No evidence of any work done other than a few remnants of the hair color that was used during the procedure. New hairs are shedding, so now I will just wait a couple more months and start to look for new hairs coming in. Will post updates once there is some growth to see.
  17. I agree completely with you Greatjob! That is a typical post from this guy and is not well informed or helpful. This result is a very nice one.
  18. So sorry about your experience and thanks for sharing to help others in their research. Follow Lorenzo's advice and go to a surgeon who has a great reputation when you decide to get additional work done. In the hands of a top surgeon you will get the result you are looking for.
