  1. All done! Total of 1,513 grafts. No more were needed for what I had done. I strengthened and lowered my temple corners. Also placed more grafts over the entire front third and did a little work in the middle, where I had not done anything previously. All went well and very smooth as would be expected. SMG took lots of pictures, so we will get some posted soon.
  2. You chose a great doc and I am sure you will be happy. Heal well and be patient......it is a long process, but well worth it.
  3. Going to SMG was the best thing I could have done. Great people and great talent. You will be very happy with them.
  4. Thanks SadbutTrue. Really appreciate all the support from everyone.
  5. . ARTAS is a robotic system used to assist in the FUE process. It is a new addition to the tools that SMG uses. It is really fascinating how it works.
  6. Thank you Bill. I will update over the course of the year. I finished the first portion of my FUE via ARTAS today with about 969 grafts (I will update with details). The ATAS procedure was easy, although the position in the chair was awkward at first. Once the valium kicked in I slept through a lot of it. Donor and recipient looks very clean. Janna and Dr. Ron took a series of photos of my hair at 2 and 1 guard and shaved down for my FUE to show just how good my scar from my first surgery came out. These will be posted soon. Going back tomorrow for another 800 or so with the regular punch (not ARTAS). Getting a little more done than my original plan, but excited about what I am having done! I will keep everyone posted.
  7. You are still very early in the process. Growth is in its very early stage. A lot more to come over the next several months.
  8. Thanks Aaron. Up early and ready to go!
  9. This is a great result and big improvement with a relatively small procedure.
  10. Thanks Thincity and SadbutTrue. Yes, hair greed has set in Dr. Ron is doing the procedure.
  11. Bonkerstonker, I agree about the forum and I am very happy for you that your hair journey is done and such a success!!
  12. Thanks everyone! StaggerLee123.....I just checked the hairloss website and it is working. See you bright and early tomorrow Janna. I am glad it "warmed up" a little in Minneapolis from the past few days of frigid weather.
  13. Consult with several clinics. I think you could get a huge benefit from surgery. You may want to rethink Propecia. If you don't have side effects, it is the best thing you can do to slow down loss and maybe regrow some hair. A few great clinics to consult with would be Shapiro Medical Group, Hassan & Wong, Dr. Konior, Dr. Rahal, True & Dorin, and there are others. You can start with online consults and go from there. That would be your best approach in my opinion.
  14. Thanks Thomas2012. I decided on FUE this time because 1) I don't need a big procedure this time, 2) I have been very impressed with FUE results from SMG, 3) recovery is quicker, and 4) there is always some small chance that the scar might not be quite as good as the first time. I am sure you will be very happy with your results.....just be patient.....the wait can seem like a long process, but before you know it you will start seeing those hairs come in!
  15. Looking good overall. Temples look better than before even if they are just a little thin. I think it is a nice improvement.
  16. I have seen some press on this product recently. Anyone have any experience with it? Any doctors or reps have any thoughts?
  17. Leaving for Minneapolis today........surgery tomorrow. Unlike the first time, I am not nervous. Just excited to have it done and to look forward to more hair this summer!
  18. No regrets at all. So glad I did it. In fact I liked it so much I am getting my second one on Monday!
  19. I would do it again for sure. In fact, I am getting my second one on Monday.......
  20. Well stated Spanker! This poster has no clue.
