  1. It is normal. Should be gone 3 or 4 days after it starts. Starts in the forehead and drains down through your face.
  2. I didn't get the count in the temple corners, but we talked about that being one of my goals for this surgery. About 300 of the grafts were placed in the middle area where I had no work before. That was mainly for some insurance as it was not particularly thin, but had a few spaces for some grafts just to thicken a little. In the first surgery, about 2000 grafts were in the front third and about 1000 went in the crown. So, I will have about 3200 total in the front third. I don't recall the per sq. cm. count.
  3. Thanks Tom. I will post update photos. I will start with one week post op just to show how fast this is healing up. I am excited about he potential that these additional grafts will have. I think it will look even fuller and thicker than before.
  4. Thanks for posting Janna! I will take my first update photos one week post op. It is amazing how much I have healed already and how fast my hair is growing back just 3 days after these pics were taken.
  5. Looking great! Glad you got the great result you deserve!
  6. Thanks Spanker. I am thrilled as I know you are with yours! Janna is going to post my post ops and I will update from there.
  7. It is a matter of personal choice. They both have excellent reputations. Advice about two surgeons with great reputations is helpful, but just consult with both and decide who you are most comfortable with. I don't think there is a "winner" between them for the questions you asked. You can't make a bad choice when you narrow your choices to top clinics. Good luck with your decision!
  8. I think you are going to have an awesome result. Looks great! You are right on track and if you are already getting some growth, that is a plus since 2 months is early. I started to get growth from my first procedure at about 2.5 months. Typical time for new growth can be 3-4 months.
  9. Thanks man......I am pretty excited about how it will turn out.
  10. You should have a really nice result. Glad you are healing well. Look forward to following your progress. Just be patient......it takes a while, but well worth the wait!
  11. All the clinics in this string do great work. Consult with all and decide which you feel best about. You are doing the right thing by researching and choosing among the best. I can personally vouch for SMG. Good luck with your decision.
  12. Thanks StaggerLee. Feeling good today. The number 3 guard is what I get with each haircut on the sides and back. You can't find the scar when cut to that length......I feel very fortunate about that. Thanks Cant decide.
  13. Thanks for posting Janna. Keeping everything on this thread makes sense. I will use it for all of my updates. I made it home fine before the frigid weather set in! Doing well. Hair is already starting to grow back from the military shave Thanks again to you and everyone at SMG.....I couldn't be happier.
  14. I would definitely recommend a consult with Shapiro Medical Group based on my own personal experience. The other clinics mentioned in these posts also have excellent reputations. Good luck with your search.
  15. I think the top clinics only do this for the reason that Dr. Charles mentioned. Otherwise the natural occurring groupings are strategically placed by the surgeon for the best and most natural result.
  16. Congrats Spanker. So glad you got the great result you deserve. Enjoy your hair!
  17. I use foam and it just takes a little more rubbing in, but I find it works much better than the liquid. A nice problem to have
  18. Joe, sorry for your situation and that it did not work out for you. You have some good advice from some of the veterans who have responded. Definitely take advantage of Blake's offer to help you out. Wish you the best!
  19. The vast majority of posts on this site are just patients reporting their experiences. I agree that you should research many sources for a long time before deciding how to proceed. Personally, I think this is one of the very best sites out there. Patients like myself get nothing out of posting here other than to try and provide information that others will find helpful in deciding what they want to do for themselves.
  20. Thanks for the good wishes! We will get some photos up soon. I have a full military buzz shaved cut. You can see my strip scar but it turned out really good. I think it will look pretty good within a week. My hair grows fast. I expect it will look fine in 2 weeks. SMG took some pics at various lengths before I was shaved. I regularly get my sides and back cut to a 3 guard and you can't see the scar at all. Cut to a 2 guard, you could see it if you looked for it, but the average person would not. I will take pics weekly for 3 or 4 weeks and update periodically after that. Thanks again Aaron and StaggerLee for the good wishes!!
  21. Thanks very much! ARTAS had very high quality grafts for me based on what I was told. It was very easy. The chair is a little awkward at first, but once my valium kicked in I slept through part of it. I had a lot of people in the room. Besides the SMG team, there were a couple people from Restoration Robotics there as well. I was impressed by the process. The second day with the regular punch was easy as well. The donor from both looks great. Overnight my donor from ARTAS had already started to heal. I really had no significant discomfort. I took the pain meds as a precaution before I went to bed even though I did not think I needed them, but did not take any this morning. The entire SMG team was fantastic as well. I am pretty excited about the work I had done. I think you will be very happy with the experience. A lot of photos were taken, and I will work with Janna to get them posted. I go back in the AM for a wash and then fly home. Best of luck with your next one. If you have any questions just shoot me a private message and I will be glad to answer them or speak by phone.
  22. Somehow I missed your post until now. Great write up. You chose one of the best and you did your homework. You should have a fantastic result. I look forward to following your progress.
