  1. I have seen some posts on the forum where people who experienced sides reduced the daily dose or took it every other day or 3 times per week and the sides stopped. I agree that you should be very careful, but it might work for you. Talk to your doctor about it as well.
  2. I think it looks really good overall. Not super dense, but it looks very natural........huge improvement for you. If you get your scar revision and have sufficient grafts, you could make it look a little thicker, but I would not have a procedure done just to thicken it of it were me. Who are you planning to go to for a revision?
  3. Sean, things are good with me, thanks. I did have a fair amount of thickening and maturity from months 9-12. However, it is subtle and I don't think that I had more hairs grow in, or at least if I did, it probably was not much. So I do think that it does get better over the last part of the first year. That said, I do think you result is really nice. HT rarely produce the perfect result, but when you compare where you started to where you are now, it is quite a transformation. That is the perspective that I have with my surgery. People like us who have had a HT and done so much research notice a lot more than the average person ever would. So be patient and I think you will continue to see some improvement, but I do agree that it is not likely that there will be dramatic change. On the fin issue, short periods of groin discomfort are a relatively common side effect, which I did have for a few days a couple of times at about the 5 or 6 month mark of being on the drug. Others on the forum have reported the same thing. Since then, I have not had any sides. When I saw Dr. Shapiro at the 6 month mark, he recommended that I keep using it and suggested that if I had any sides that I could consider a lower frequency (every other day or 3 times per week), which is effective for a lot of people and many times will eliminate the sides. It is such a tough call. I don't like taking it because of the knowns and the unknowns, but I do want to hang on to my native hair as long as possible to either delay or avoid needing additional work done. I go back and forth, but for now I am still on it.
  4. He has a great reputation on this forum.
  5. Hey Sean.....hope all is well. Where did you land on using propecia? I am seriously thinking about stopping. I have not had noticeable side effects since the first few months when I experienced some mild discomfort on occasion. However, I am just concerned about the drug since every report of recent is quite negative on it. It makes me wonder what other impact it has on our overall health in the long run.
  6. Another article on Propecia side effects. /gma.yahoo.com/men-propecias-sexual-side-effects-may-long-lasting-215732153--abc-news-wellness.html
  7. I am more familiar with Dr. Lindsey's work and have always been really impressed with it and he seems to really care about his patients. Dr. Vogel may be just as solid, I am just not as familiar with him.
  8. Looks really nice! It will definitely mature over the next few months.
  9. Yep......follow what your surgeon tells you.......you chose them for a reason. I had my staples out in 10 days as instructed by my surgeon.
  10. I agree that there are no doctors who have 100% patient satisfaction. You have to consult with several top doctors and find one you are comfortable with. That includes their approach. Some doctors are more aggressive than others. I personally prefer a more conservative (not ultra conservative) approach since hair loss is progressive and even the best surgeons cannot predict how much more hair you will lose in the future.....at best it is an educated guess.
  11. Nice write up. I really like his work and think that Dr. Konior should be on anyone's short list of surgeons to consider. Really glad you ended up with a top surgeon for this HT.
  12. All of the surgeons listed are producing great results with FUE. I am sure there are others, but this will give you a good start in your research.
  13. Looking good.......nice improvement with limited grafts.
  14. You chose a great Doc.......good things to come. Just be patient.
  15. I use it across all of the top and crown area.
  16. Grey hair works really well. It naturally has a thicker appearance which makes it ideal for a thicker appearance after the HT.
  17. One side was pretty well matured by about 8-9 months. The other side evened out between months 10 and 12. I was surprised how much thicker and mature my HT got overall during months 10-12, especially since I was a very early grower, with broth starting at 2 months.
  18. Thanks formertrackstar. I have been using Rogaine for over 10 years. I started Fin about a 18 months ago. I have lots of donor left if I need it, but hopefully the meds will hold everything in place.
