This patient previously had a larger FUT procedure, mainly to address his frontal zones. We recently shared his case here.
He is now 9.5 months out from a small FUE procedure to fill in his crown. You can see how Dr Rahal recreated the whorl, which is the most difficult part of a crown restoration.
Photos were taken by the patient. We'll take more when he comes in.
Numerous recent threads highlight patient concerns regarding the nature of graft counting as follicular unit (FU) numbers (and, in turn, prices of larger sessions) rise. Patients may understandably "feel the pinch" when charged per graft for 3000+ FU megasessions. On occasion, patients may also benefit from a much more conservative session targeting the area of most cosmetic importance.
This 50-year-old man had taken Propecia for years and it simply wasn't working for him. Instead, he opted for a 1472-graft follicular unit transplantation (FUT) procedure with our team to cover his thinning crown. After one year, this conservative session provided a light coverage that preserved plenty (of grafts, etc.) for his future.
Greetings all,
Hope you are all well and had a great Christmas with yours
On the 24th. of december, the six-month mark was finally passed. I had a 2750 graft crown job done through beautytravels24.com and even though crown jobs are reputed to be notoriously slow to grow, I figured it was time to get opinions by now. As follows:
The "start" picture far-left is taken in natural light with a 5 MP cell-cam. The "6 month_3_days" picture second-left was also taken in natural light, but with an 8 MP cell-cam.
More pictures are available in my gallery.
So, what do you think I can expect from what you can see so far? Picture 3 (8 MP natural light) is from the front at an angle over the top of the head and I believe I see quite a few little dark spots that appear to be hair that just hasn't pieced the surface yet. Overly optimistic maybe? Picture 4 is taken straight from above (8 MP natural light) and looks a little more bleak IMO.
Thx.
This gentleman in his early 50's came to Dr. Arocha with severe crown loss. He had a 3031 FUT procedure. The after photos are taken one year following his procedure. He is currently on a medical regimen consisting of Propecia, which has not proven to regrow any hair, but has stabilized the hair loss in the crown.
You can view the complete album Here.
This 32-year-old has been on meds for years. The top/front are good and stable, but the native hair in the crown was not going to improve any further with meds alone.
Dr Rahal extracted 2747 grafts via strip and covered a wide area at the crown.
The patient has a favourable family history of hairloss.
New video featuring a 49 year old male patient who under went a 2079 FU crown restoration procedure with Dr. Arocha. Results are 9 months post-op.

This patient is a 49 year old male complaining of thinning crown, wanted to start restoration in that area. He had a 2079 FUT procedure performed by Doctor Arocha. The after photos are taken 9 months post procedure, hence further improvement should be forthcoming.
