  1. Well no... A NW1 is just a straight hairline like Brad Pitt. And a NW2 might be slight temple recession like you're seeing right now. You're going from NW2 to NW1 and especially you're probably hiding your temples with hair so it's not even that exaggerated
  2. Great result! Actually, I'd love to see more examples of hair line designs like this or the one posted by Aftermath in his 660 graft post. I know H & W kinda does it all so you guys have to show off a bit of everything from NW6s to repair cases, but since I'm hairline shopping, I'd love to see a few more of those NW1 hairlines drawn on by a ruler and then styled up to showcase the hairline styles that you see everywhere on Dr. Rahal's or Dr. De Freitas' sites. You know, the hair model hairlines that us lower Norwoods dream about lol. Seems like Dr. Hasson likes to restore hair into an M-shaped hairline but I'd love to see some of those results where the guy walks in a NW2 in their 30s and comes out a NW1
  3. If I was a doctor, I would reject you because you're not making any sound decisions right now. You want to get a hair transplant cause some chick called you megamind? You think you're gonna get attractive girls because you go from a NW2 to a NW1? Trust me, it won't make a difference.
  4. I think he photoshopped Rick Astley's hair onto his head. The real question though is if he's ever gonna give you up or let you down Also, +1 for Europe. Europe would be my second choice after Canada since I'm Canadian and we got H&W in our backyard somewhere about 3000 km to the west lol. Europe has such a great combination of affordability and great surgeons. The only thing holding me back from going to De Freitas is the fact that he's in Europe and he doesn't have the amount of patient posted results that a clinic like H&W has.
  5. Probably not? Seems kinda bold to ask people to do stuff for you when you're a complete stranger on the internet who doesn't actively participate in the community you're asking stuff from. I don't mean to be rude but... If you want someone to trust you enough to let you into their home you should at least give people a reason to trust you i.e. have more than 14 posts on this board If you can afford surgery, I'm sure you can get a hotel room for a couple days or get it comped by the clinic
  6. Actually I checked it out. Looks like Mwambas clinic offers at 55 euros + shipping but the bottle should last you 3 months?
  7. Just wondering if you've noticed any differences in efficacy between liposomal, trichosol and mesotherapy? How do your serum DHT levels look on each? I'm thinking about trying one of these and posting my results since your results are pretty insane
  8. I love what I've seen but haven't seen that much just yet. Like the other guy said... I wanna see those real patient results. But yeah, if I lived in Europe he would be on my short list
  9. The only reason its 81 is that it's not mass produced and needs special pharmacies compounding it. If it's the real deal, companies will be jumping on it to mass produce. If not, well, you're not paying 81 bucks a month lol. Anyway, I'm sure there'll be more things down the line that give better results... You just gotta maintain your hair until they come out
  10. I think it's a difference in philosophy. Couto and Freitas can give you an illusion of density with less grafts, but Hasson & Wong gives you the real thing but with more grafts. Give anyone the choice and they'd ask for black hole density with an N64 cartridge hairline. Now whether you should give patients near native density or not depends on the patient. At the end of the day, some people don't want the illusion. They wanna look like a caveman
  11. pretty much yeah. I've read the UK is pretty expensive for what you get and the quality isn't necessarily up there with places like continental Europe with guys like Freitas and Couto doing insanely good work.
  12. With higher norwoods, every graft counts. Prolly best to try and keep as much as possible rather than letting it fall off.
  13. I've heard a lot of docs say 25 is probably the minimum age when you would get a hair transplant because 25 is when your final pattern starts to become discernable. So 26 is okay but still probably quite a bit on the young side. I haven't got a transplant yet but here's what I've seen from other posters. At 26, you're still young so you're in a position where your looks matter a bit more. So getting to have (more) hair in your 20s is obviously the big pro. At 26, you might not be able to drop 10k+ for a hair transplant. You might then find yourself in a position where you're choosing between Turkey or having to make up that money elsewhere. Maybe if you're more established you might drop the cash for a guy like Konior. Other posters have mentioned that you'd be chasing hair loss as well with a transplant at 26. For sure you might have to get 2 or 3. But imo that's because at 26, you might get a NW1 hairline from a transplant but at 46, you might get a NW3. So basically it's more of a tradeoff in this regard imo. If you're 46 and you wanted the same hair line I'd imagine it would take the same number of grafts. Someone can correct me on this but that's how I speculate this is like. You will most definitely lose hair in the future. So you're gonna be chasing that for sure with more transplants. As for whether propecia will cause issues in the future... I have no idea. Possibly a controversial subject lol. I've seen some debates about the long term implications of fin/dut.
  14. That or when celebs claim that they regrew their diffuse NW3 hairline by doing lots of pushups and situps and drinking plenty of juice
  15. i had a bit of temple recession and that was it. it held up through most of my 20's and only got exacerbated by the stress from WFH when I finally noticed my hair didn't style properly anymore I thought it was just my genetic hairline lmao. I thought some guys just had bad hairlines genetically and that was me.
  16. I think looking at the "best" results may not be the best way to look at it. Cause to get the best results, sometimes you're going to take some (unnecessary) risks. Sure, Doctor X can dense pack 80 grafts/cm2 but maybe 1 out of 100 gets close to the 80 grafts/cm2 surviving and he's the guy the clinic posts about on their website. I think you want to go for guys who are consistent. And maybe a guy who specializes in your particular area of need. i.e. Dr Rahal for the hairlines. This thread is probably just a roundabout way of saying "who's the best Doctor in the world" so there was a big thread about that recently
  17. Dr. Rassman posted a couple links on his blog recently. No idea what they really mean because I don't really read medical literature https://baldingblog.com/potential-long-term-effects-of-finasteride-and-dutasteride-discussed/
  18. jeez, drew brees looks amazing. looks like they lowered his hairline too?
  19. Well you can't really say for sure even knowing the family history or the first noticeable recession I'd imagine. But let's assume it's just a fairly linear and slow recession (as evidenced by NW2 at age 30). And let's say it's fairly consistent so a bald spot won 't randomly appear 10 years down the line. Also, fwiw, the doctor said that 40 grafts/cm2 would give the appearance of thinning. Given these parameters, do you think it's reasonable for lower NWs to ask this kind of thing? Based on your response, it seems like a case-by-case basis which gives me the feeling that it is fairly reasonable to get your hairline lowered as a lower NW provided that there are a decent number of grafts and the progressive loss is fairly predictable and stable. Well, it'd only be 0.5-1cm. Which iirc, it's 100 grafts per 0.1 cm from H&W. I could be wrong as I don't remember off the top of my head
  20. I'm a NW2 at age 30. I've got temple recession which is messing with my ability to execute certain hairstyles how I want and maybe I've got a bit of a five head as well. Classic M-shaped hairline. I went to a local doctor and he drew a NW1 hairline on me and quoted me 1200 grafts. He literally just drew a horizontal line on my forehead so no norwood 3 or lifting up at the corners like the hairline some guys get. Like you could have created that hairline by tracing the edges of a hershey bar. He did say it wouldn't be super high density (i.e. 40 grafts/cm) to give an idea of what kind of procedure we were discussing. My doctor was a bit on the conservative side so all he wanted to do was create that NW1 look. The thing is, I was hoping to lower my hairline by like 0.5-1cm as well because I feel like my forehead is a bit too big which doesn't suit my face all that well. My local doctor didn't want to lower my hairline (said something about how since he was the doctor, he also had input and he didn't really want to do that kind of hairline) while the H&W rep recommended against it but also said that it would be X amount of grafts per 0.1 cm. I was just wondering though if lower NWs can go for stuff like this and how reasonable would it be? I know a lot of doctors like to talk about donor management and talking down the guys who want a Sean hannity hairline while they're a future NW7... But for a lower NW patient who's hairline may just end up matching his fathers Nw2/nw3 at 60, would it be unreasonable to try and lower the hairline while at the same time filling in the temples? My donor capacity I think is about average though my hair shaft thickness is probably a bit above average Also, what kind of limitations do lower NWs generally have when transplanting? At what point does it become a point where the patient is being unreasonable in their goals?
  21. awesome. keep us posted on your progress with topical dutasteride. if you could start a topic about it, i'd be super interested to follow it. Also, I've heard people talk about Dr. Mwamba selling topical dutasteride as well. Not sure if it's a spray though
  22. Yeah. Sadly they won't give a script unless I fly over and get one from them in person.
  23. I got a prescription for topical fin but I don't think it's for the liposomal variety. I'm also not entirely sure what pharmacy I would even go to to get the liposomal variant. So I was wondering if anyone with experience getting liposomal fin can point me to the right clinic/pharmacy to acquire it
