  1. I was thinking of getting my temples filled in, temple peaks strengthened a bit, and maybe lower the hairline a tiny bit? My estimate would be 3k grafts from what consultants have told me and from what I've seen doctors usually do for frontal thirds
  2. I'm blind cause I'm not zeroing in on two borderline imperceptible random red dots on your skull? Wtf? Are you even aware of what you're saying I'm curious how it'll turn out though once the hair matures and darkens
  3. Huh. I googled it and it seems really rare. That's really rough man. I can't believe Rogaine is giving you sides like that
  4. It's obviously gonna be weird if you show up to the office after a week off with your hair completely buzzed. Is it possible to wear a hair system (even made of your own hairs??) or a believable wig in the days after a transplant? I could probably wear a hat to the office but I don't really know if I'm the type to wear a hat for 2 or 3 months while my hair grows out
  5. I mean this in the nicest way possible man, but if you're gonna drop a wall of text on us, at least have some paragraphs and break up the key points into manageable blocks of text. I'll bet you half the people who looked at what you wrote just noped outta here or skimmed what you wrote at best. Also not sure you can even get ED from dermarolling and minox. Rogaine doesn't touch the hormones at all and I believe it deals more with blood flow and getting the hair the nutrients to grow fast. If you're going through ED, I'm almost certain it's from some other factor whether it's mental or physical. A lot of people speculate PFS is just a psychological issue... Would this be PMS? Post minoxidil syndrome?
  6. H & W were notoriously late to add FUE to their repertoire and they easily transitioned into one of the best FUE clinics in the world. I think they're the type to only do things when they're sure it'll create a good result and that the technology/technique has refined enough where it meets their standards.
  7. If you're a lower NW, couldn't you realistically get true density in a place like the hairline where density is generally emphasized? Maybe not density to match your existing density but enough where you've got it within a somewhat natural range
  8. Well fin is less about regaining your hair than it is about preserving the hair that you do have. Growing back hair is a lucky bonus but not the primary goal. So no one doubts that a transplant can make you look like you're a NW1, the issue that occurs with pure transplants and no meds is that 5 years from now you find out you have a bald patch behind your transplanted hair or your transplanted crown has a ring around it.
  9. Nothing is for certain. I'm just speculating lol. For all we know, they could have tight controls on the manufacturing process.
  10. Well the thing with them being a retailer is that they are not a manufacturer but rather a reseller. Amazon is full of stuff like this where a reseller sources their crap from AliExpress or China, marks it up 5x and then lists it. If I'm just going to buy stuff from China, I rather not pay it to a reseller with a 5x markup you know? And who are they buying their stuff from? Is it just some dude on AliExpress advertising his lab? Buy 1000 units and get it for 0.5 cents each? True. China can offer some really great value as well for higher end stuff. For example, SuitSupply manufactures their stuff in China and that's a company where you might pay over 1k for a suit and you would be getting good value for what you pay. Not like the workers in China is somehow incapable of quality stitching or labor. The real issue is regulation, quality control and various processes that ensure the quality of the product. A company like Apple can ensure that a quality product is delivered. The difference here is MM doesn't necessarily give me confidence that it isn't a reseller basement op sourcing it from an unknown Chinese lab whereas with SuitSupply I know if I drop 1 grand on a suit that I'm going to look great for whatever event I need to go to. I looked into it as well since Toronto is my home turf. 380 Commerce valley doesn't even exist. The mariott is 300 and the street turns into Beaver Valley right after. Even weirder is that they now list some address in the US and some address in Europe now. The website is a bit slow, so it may be possible they're not paying for expensive hosting. Super sketchy. And parts of their website like the privacy policy are copy pasted word for word. The copyright at the bottom seems like it's just put there for show. I'll bet my my frontal third that this is an operation of less than 10 guys, sourcing stuff from China, and then reselling it through an online storefront. No guarantee that they're bad and they've been in business for a while but they're clearly not an organized operation and I don't know if I believe that they have 3 offices in 3 different countries. That's bullshit. If they're a multinational company, they could deliver a better website than one with awful margins/CSS, slow loading speed, typos, copy pasted privacy notices and a copyright that doesn't even list the year. I wouldn't call their website polished either. They misspelled Popular as well. It's definitely a reseller basement operation.
  11. If you ask the forum, they'll probably advocate Dr. Hasson for hairlines and frontal third work. When I consulted with H & W and from what I've read from their rep, they've said that both Dr. Hasson and Dr. Wong are equally good at hairline work.
  12. Idk why but the first set of pics looks like a completely different person than the last set of pics.
  13. The oils from your hair touching your face can cause pimples to appear.
  14. Is minoxidilmax good? I heard it was just low quality crap from a Chinese lab?
  15. It's definitely not approved by the FDA. I haven't even heard of trials or anything for it? Topical dut is a thing but it's not widely adopted or researched. At the moment, you could argue it's similar to a lot of other speculative drugs like Breezula or RU. And there's a lot of drugs out there that people claim works or they're using off-label or getting it shipped from some Chinese lab or is currently in trials. So when you have a top doctor like Dr. Wong say that he thinks topical dut is the future, it really makes people feel like we found the next proven thing. Yeah we have Breezula but do we know it's better than fin or it has less side effects? It's kind of an unknown in many regards. We don't even know if it will get FDA approval. As for why it can't be revealed? Well, depends on what it is. But just because it exists doesn't mean that the information can't be exciting. For example, if it H & W starts prescribing it, that's a big deal. Or if we see some actual clinical data from topical dut, that's also a big thing. You have to realize that topical dut is a new treatment and not a widely adopted treatment so there's a ton of potential "big news" for it. Like if H & W signed a multimillion dollar deal to sell topical dut in Costcos across North America (just dreaming lol) that would be massive news even though it's "already a thing".
  16. That's a lot of hair going into the hairline for a NW5 isn't it? He must be blessed with donor hair
  17. I wouldn't say it borders on feminine. It's a straight line across which is a NW1. It's a totally normal hairline to have for a male. And feminine hairlines aren't straight lines they're rounded
  18. That's some crazy density in the hairline. Is that what it looks like when you dense pack the hairline? Jeez
  19. I feel like not getting butchered is more the baseline expectation if you go to a reputable doctor/clinic
  20. Really interesting to hear one of the top docs in the world endorse topical dutasteride. Not that the other doctors like Dr. Wesley aren't top docs, but hearing Dr. Wong outright saying he believes it's the future intrigues me. Obviously there are a few docs that are selling it, but listening to an endorsement from Dr. Wong really makes me feel a lot more confident about it. Might be time I send Dr. Mwamba some money... Also, thanks for asking my question. I hope Curious's question was satisfactorily answered for him as well. So it does seem like you can't determine for sure but with an educated guess, it's very very rare that hair loss progresses to a point where donor hair is insufficient. Dr. Wong spends some time talking about the worst case scenario (that you progress towards a NW7 and end up as one of those handful of patients who run out of donor) but I'm kinda curious what the average case scenario is as far as making these educated guesses. I don't believe I have any NW7s in my family - I think my uncle was a NW5 or so at like age 40 but now he shaves his head so I can't even say for sure. Both my grandfathers are dead. One of them had great hair, and the other was bald. Also, I can't believe I forgot to ask what H & W offers for lunch. I heard it was included in the package... Any chance Remy can answer this for us 😁
  21. My question is pretty much this one since I was wondering how/when we can determine someone's final balding pattern. And if you know your final balding pattern, assuming it's not particularly aggressive, if you could take a calculated risk and get off drugs
  22. Oh yeah my bad. My reading comprehension is almost as bad as some of david beckhams haircuts apparently. Yeah, def agree about the buzz being better than bald look. It's definitely not a bad haircut, I just prefer my hair to be a net plus than a minor positive Not sure I agree with the last pic though. Pic on the left has a crunchy look with a kinda weird looking style with a kinda goofy expression while pic on the right gets rid of the awkward hair and has a not so goofy expression. I'm not sure it's a fair comparison
  23. I don't know if I agree. I've never seen a buzzcut on a guy where I felt the guy couldn't have grown it out and been that much better off. Like take beckham for example, yeah he looks alright with the buzz, and it's not his worse hair ever since the tragedy that was his dreads... But it doesn't come close to his usual style. The buzz is no nonsense I don't care about looks kinda look. You usually see it on guys who don't want to worry about their appearance like guys in the army. To me the buzz is like the hair equivalent of "I don't care what I wear". But Beckhams usual style is something you can bring on the red carpet and look classy and refined. Plus, in the dating game, a nicely styled haircut might mean a lot to the right woman. For example, Beckham with hair > buzzed beckham Plus I can't imagine spending 5 figures just to get a buzzcut man. The joy of having hair is to style it and experiment with it. Hair has obvious cosmetic benefits but it's also about the fashion/style ya know? It's kinda like a luxury car in a way. Part of it might be somewhat practical (assuming that making you look better is practical) but part of it is just about style, the joy of ownership, and even being able to flaunt it. Difference is, you are not your car.
  24. Actually, Dr. Rassman, whos blog I follow, said if you reach your final pattern and then get a hair transplant, you can potentially never need a second one. So it's pretty simple. Drink heavily, do tons of hard drugs, don't sleep, and then boom. All you need is one transplant.
  25. So your question is, why isn't every doctor/clinic a master of SEO, marketing, and brand awareness? Probably cause they're doctors and small business owners - not multimillion or multibillion dollar corporations with a dedicated marketing/advertising department. Many of them don't understand how to manage their online presence and many don't appreciate it either. Granted, they're doctors and probably make more money than the average small business owner, but that doesn't mean they're particularly savvy to modern advertising or maybe they just don't have the time to do it. There are people who's entire careers revolve around advertising, figuring out the best way to take advantage of AdSense/FB ads and being the top result on a Google search. I went to an appointment with a local doc nearby and when I went to the office, the guy was like 60 and his receptionist was like 60. And his website looks like it was made in 2005. Assuming the stereotype that the older generations aren't as tech savvy is true, who in that office is gonna advertise for them? A dedicated marketing/social media guy costs money and requires a salary. That money is coming out of the doctors pocket. Posting a new picture every 2 weeks takes time, and your employees time costs money unless you have the doctor photographing which probably isn't worth his time so much. You wouldn't want the doctor doing work that's somewhat low level but also likely outside of his skillset. Plus, small business owners aren't necessarily masters of SEO and brand awareness. And then how are they gonna put up a new photo every 2 weeks? They'd have to go out of their way to set up a new patient to come in every 2 weeks to take a photo. I'd imagine it'd be quite inconsistent when they could actually get someone to come in. I know a guy who works with garage doors. His business was probably taking in 1 million a year gross income if not more. He's a successful dude and he has 0 online presence and 0 knowledge of SEO/marketing. Now the question arises as to why he doesn't have SEO or marketing. Well the guy is great at installing garage doors, he's not a computer guy. And because he's not a tech kinda guy, he doesn't appreciate the value in having an online presence. And he doesn't even know how important it is. Long story short, being a small business owner/entrepreneur requires a set of skills very different from being a doctor.
