  1. Are you sure your doctor transplant 75-80 grafts/cm2 in one procedure?
  2. Well I used transferwise to pay in euro. Or maybe you can use a 0 fx fee credit card. I'm sure you can discuss with your clinic to pay ahead of schedule. I'd imagine it's not a hard conversation to have. You: "I want to pay you earlier". Clinic: "Okay". Anyway, the exchange rate can go up, it can go down and it can stay the same. If you knew what was going to happen, you'd be rich. So honestly holding onto your USD is just as likely to be good to you as it is to be bad to you. Forex is somewhat of a zero sum game. Someone has to lose and someone has to win. So it's really a coin flip if you win or lose. That said, if you want to avoid the currency risk altogether and lock in your exchange rate, I think interactive brokers is quite friendly with exchanging to euro? I'm not sure since I'm not American and don't have access to all the great brokerages they have over there. But you might benefit from forex trading. Here in Canada, we often use something like Norbert's gambit for a cheap currency exchange (primarily for the CAD <-> USD pair. Have you done a Google search on how to get USD -> Euro for cheap?
  3. Well of course you don't need minoxidil dude. You're taking dutasteride. That's like saying you didn't need a GED to get a good job when you got a degree from Harvard.
  4. How many grafts do you need? 5k euro could be 1k grafts with Couto or 5000 grafts at some crappy hair mill
  5. From Dr. Wong's IG live Q&A, he mentioned that they can generally fairly reliably predict a patients future loss and that maybe only a couple patients progressed to a NW7 contrary to their predictions. I don't remember his exact phrasing though but it seemed like for the most part, it doesn't get super unpredictable
  6. Have you tried oral minox or topical fin/dut? I always thought the thinning was age related thinning. Though I guess you'll also have some some miniaturization in the donor as a possibility, most doctors won't operate if it's significant
  7. If you're from Portugal, Spain and Portugal both have fantastic doctors. What's the point of going to the UK where they charge you an arm and a leg for quality that doesn't compare to what you might get from Spain/Portugal.
  8. short waitlist local surgeon sounds like a recipe for disaster lol. it's your hair man, make sure you get it done right.
  9. I have no issue with sending photos. I sent photos for my other online consultation with Dr. De Freitas and did a video call for H&W. It's more to do with how pushy they were and that they spent all their effort into converting me into a customer instead of actually answering my questions. I wasn't even aiming for a quote since I already knew the rough graft count I would need so it was just to learn more and be informed. I think I was just asking about getting an in person consult since they'd be able to look at my hair under a microscope and whatever else. I already knew what my rough graft requirements would be based on a prior consult with H&W. I don't remember the exact conversation but even questions that they didn't need photos for, they were still trying to close on me. It was just super frustrating dealing with salesmen
  10. No one needs a transplant. Though it's justifiable on you since you've got some noticeable loss in the forelock and the temples. Anyway, you're pretty much rocking what amounts to a combover to cover your recession. Not sure what the point of a transplant if you're just gonna continue having your pre-transplant hairstyle? It won't change anything since your current style hides your recession. I'd strongly consider one though if you're interested in trying out certain stylish hairstyles (anything that exposes the hairline) so you're not limited to a hide-my-balding style
  11. I've never seen such a sudden transition from hairline to midscalp density lol. Usually it's a gradient isn't it?
  12. You can find the price on their website. It's listed at $8 for first 2k for FUE. Then $6. Or 5/3 for FUT
  13. I don't like Turkey just because I don't feel comfortable going to a country with limited consumer protections compared to North America or Europe. The only way I would ever go to Turkey is because the surgeon themselves are legitimately great surgeons and the clinic is quality. Your hair isn't something to skimp out on... This isn't RC Cola. For just a bit more you could literally go to Europe where they charge slightly more per graft but you're in Europe as opposed to Turkey. The EU bends over backwards to help consumers as much as possible. Also, Eugenix is really popular among the higher norwoods (which will likely be you if you opt to not use medication based on your diffuse loss throughout tthe entire scalp) No one even knows what site you're talking about and what packages you're looking at. But packages always seem kinda sketchy to me lol when they try to sell you on shit like sapphire blades or DHI Also, 3V baldness with the entire top thinning implies that you're dealing with diffuse loss across the entire top and will probably be a 5/6/7 in the future. And you're only 27.
  14. I did a bank transfer. Cost me i think like 10 bucks to do a transfer factoring in fx?
  15. Well definitely get an in person examination if possible imo. Doesn't have to be the doctor that you want to do your transplant but it's nice to get someone to look at you in person imo. Also create a list. Biggest thing for me was just knowing the doctor has a huge list of guys with my hair type getting restored to a hairline that I wanted to get. Dr. De Freitas had a ton of results all showing me that fixing my hairline would just be a regular day of work for me. Though I strongly considered Dr. Hasson as well and he was a really close second but Dr. De Freitas had a ton of wow results, a lot of results where he worked with guys like me and the cost was almost half of that of Dr. Hasson. Also this probably goes against the advice of the forum (i.e. look at results not the tools) but I liked that De Freitas used implanter pens just cause I thought they were well suited for my hair type. Funnily enough, apparently H&W switched to implanters recently from that recent Konior Q&A.
  16. wow fin doing some serious work. looks like you would've been full blown NW5 or NW6 without it
  17. Camera as in zoom? Do you have to be back in the office? Can you wear a hat? Is it a full shave procedure?
  18. Dr. Bisanga going the extra mile really impressed me. That scar is something that you aren't paying for since you're paying on a per graft basis. Not every doctor would have taken the time to remove that scar and I know for sure that those hair mills in Turkey wouldn't give it a second thought. And the time he spends picking out the perfect hairs also makes me think that looking at doctors on a cost per graft basis sometimes isn't fair. Definitely the little things are the most impressive just because you can tell he takes pride in his work and pays attention to detail and that makes a big difference with hair transplants imo.
  19. Well I'm booked for Dr. De Freitas for mid-May. I think they mentioned that the earliest surgery date with Dr. De Freitas now was sometime in August next year and I think it was also mentioned that the consultation is also a couple months. So imo, if you were to try to reserve a date with Dr. De Freitas, it would be sometime in late 2022 or early 2023. 3000 does seem like a lot though. Though hairline density usually requires a ton of grafts because that's where the grafts make the most impact yet you're also forced to use a lot of singles due to the fact that the hairline tends to comprise of mostly singles. I've heard that lowering the hairline by a centimeter is 1k grafts by itself to give you an idea. Also, you look diffuse NW5/6 so maybe 3k grafts might be kinda questionable.
  20. I never got an in person consult with Rahal cause of COVID lockdowns but I filled out the online form on his website and his sales reps spent the next week harassing me for photos. Dude called me Saturday morning like he was trying to sell me a timeshare in Mexico instead of a medical procedure. If I tried to talk to them on their website using the online chat, they were just heavily trying to turn a simple question into me sending photos. For that reason, I never proceeded any further with Rahal. I've really had a great experience with all the other reps I've come in contact with though. Hasson and Wongs Toronto rep was really great. Same with Dr. De Freitas. Thinking back on it though, it's probably better that I didn't get the in person consultation cause then I would have had to deal with 6 months of sales tactics instead of 1 week lol The Rahal results I've seen have been really solid but I just didn't want to deal with guys like that H&W were my second choice though. I really like their work and they've been at it for a long time.
  21. you should google it. i know eugenix is transparent with their pricing
  22. In Canada, Rahal and Hasson and Wong are both really solid doctors. So you're pretty lucky to be in Canada. Rahal seems to be more about hairlines than anything else since he calls himself the hairline king. Hasson and Wong are in Vancouver at which point you're still looking for a plane ticket on the other side of Canada. I wouldn't limit yourself to Canada though. Other countries in the world are very competitive in terms of both skill and price. A lot of European doctors impress me with their skills and price. Plus the EU is always passing laws that favor the consumer
