Everything You Need To Know About Hair Transplant Cost
deeznuts replied to Melvin- Admin's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
lol I had to see this for myself. According to the banner, Melvin left a 5 star review for Eugenix. I thought you were supposed to wait 12 months before judging a transplant Melvin 🤔 -

Can I achieve some good results?

You can get surgery 27. A lot of doctors throw 25 as the cutoff age though it's not been unheard of to do it on younger patients in specific circumstances. -

I always thought that it was pretty much just age related thinning (i.e. not MPB) and some miniaturization (though in theory, if your donor was unstable, an ethical doctor wouldn't give you a transplant). Like the timeline for that would be in the 10+ year period right? -
I think it varies by doctor as their post surgical protocol always seems to differ. But for the most part I think 10 days or so is when the grafts start to anchor so that would be the safest bet. You can still cover your head post surgery I believe if you have a loose fitting hat (i.e. like a bucket hat I think?) that doesn't disturb the grafts. But I would just listen to your doctors advice. Whatever he says, you should do it. I would also ask your doctor about if

I think Dr. Mwamba talked about why he favors premade slits in his IG live. I can't remember his exact reasons but I think it had something to deal with blood and things getting messy. The Spanish doctors I think use the Lion implanter pen which would put them in the DHI category. Dr. De Freitas has an article on his site about it which I thought was interesting though how much of it is marketing idk. The article lists the main advantages as being able to implant the graft immediately after extraction and the reduction of scabs due to what I assume might be a small incision (i.e. circular instead of slits) I also read that the implanter pens seem to work better for thick straight hair (i.e. Asian hair as the implanter pen was invented in Korea) but no clue how true that is anymore. I agree though that skill matters the most. That's why you have untrained techs in a hair mill in Turkey doing DHI and botching every other surgery while you've also arguably some of the best results in the world coming out of Spain also done with DHI

Is there a solution for my Hair?
deeznuts replied to sharkman's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Hasson and Wong are pretty honest imo. James (I'm assuming the one from Toronto) was a pretty straight shooter for me too. Just wondering, did you meet James in person? If you live in Canada, you can try the states but it's literally cheaper to fly halfway around the world and get a transplant from one of the best doctors in the world in Europe than it is to get a transplant from the top doctors in the states. Not that there aren't fantastic doctors in the states, but getting a hair transplant in the states also costs an arm and a leg. Maybe you can try Dr. Mwamba? I think he has an office in Atlanta but he also has an office in Europe. He does a lot of work with BHT from what I understand -
Not microscopically but I did have a local doctor (Dr. Cotterill) do a visual examination and go through my hair with his hands so I'm safe hopefully. Or at the very least it should be fairly slow progressing without any issues thus far at 30. I think my crown should be solid and I just don't see myself losing hair there based on family history and the density I have now but if I were to lose hair in the midscalp in the future I wouldn't be surprised. Not that I'm noticing diffuse loss or anything but I have family in the NW4A or so region where they've lost the front and midscalp but the crown stayed intact so that's probably gonna be my worst case scenario

Interesting takes from Dr. Mwamba. I'm surprised he is, for lack of a better word, endorsing premade slits. I thought he would have played it more neutral like most other doctors and just said their are pros and cons without seemingly favoring one option. Not that I think premade slits are bad but I thought he wouldn't have favored one technique in particular. I think Konior mentioned that doing premade slits requires the slits to be larger as the opening shrinks and that it gives more flexibility as well as not having to worry about making a slit and having 0 or 2 grafts in the slit. Dr. Mwamba talked about DHI with slits made, but I was wondering what about DHI with no slits (i.e. just using a pen to make the incision and implantation in one motion). It's pretty cool to see even the top doctors having different opinions on various techniques Pretty nice to hear the topical dut is working amazingly for the patients of Dr. Mwamba. Also, I definitely get his point about technicians. The reality is that being a doctor is about mental ability not physical ability and there are gonna be technicians with extreme dexterity that outclasses a doctor in terms of implantations or extractions. Though I also understand the point of view of many forum members who prefer to eliminate as many variables as possible with technicians being a major variable in their result. I personally mentioned this before but I think the best compromise is a technician who has a lot of years of experience with the doctor

What clinic to choose?

It's kinda hard to tell how receded your temples are. Any chance you can pull your hair back? -
Hasson and Wong seem to like dense packing and are some of the best in the world at it. So that would be my recommendation if you're looking for a doctor to put a ton of grafts in your hairline

You're Norwood 7 based on the fact that your lateral humps are pretty much gone, the crown dips pretty low and even the nape hair is going. Also your sides look super thin as well. Seems like the only place you're not losing hair is the 2-3 inch permanent safe zone. Not a good candidate. I don't think there's a lot going for you

I was wondering what his thoughts are on topical dutasteride now that he's been prescribing it for a while and has probably written more prescriptions for it than a lot of doctors. Does he feel it's more effective than other popular drugs (topical fin, oral fin, oral dut) or that is mitigates side effects? In his experience how often do you think topical dut causes adverse side effects from the drug going systemic?

Can You Get an FUE Without Propecia?

What's your experience been like without fin? Have you avoided taking it due to side effects or just a personal decision at the start? -

On a micro level I think it was mentioned issues with graft placement and graft selection, but on a macro level I think some hairlines can look a bit off based on the design as well. i.e. you got a Sean Hannity low hairline but your temple peaks look like larry davids for example. Or that one dude who got mutton chops from a turkish clinic
