  1. WOW PA, what a great result thus far, happy for you bro, I'm on generic finasteride at the moment and I swear I'm easily losing 20+ hairs a day, I'm wondering if name brand might actually work better for me instead of generic, I've been on it for about 5 years and I believe what it's done is slowed the loss down but it's far from completely halted it as we know happens, good on you for documenting your finasteride journey, posts like this are invaluable for those of us trying to figure out the next step in this process, much credit and respect, keep us posted : ) Oh other than fin do you take anything else? I know you commented on Rogaine but any biotin supps or anything like that?
  2. Great points raised here in regards to the fact you are putting far more at risk than just a few hundred grafts and also that the unethical doctors would naturally weed themselves out over time with bad experiences and poor results - appreciate the input : )
  3. I'd never heard of an actual count/ chart sheet before so thank you for that info, that actually makes sense that they would file it for future reference as well due to subsequent procedures.
  4. wow that is a butchering, who was the dr that did this?
  5. Oh ok that's how it works... yeah I was going to ask you about the time the grafts were out of the scalp as well so thank you for answering that. Are his prices $8 per FUE graft and $5 per FUT graft like most of the other clinics or did he charge you one rate for the two different extraction types?
  6. I say do it if it makes you happy and if you can afford it, who did you get your first transplant done with?
  7. Bernstein has a lot of youtube videos and seems to know what he's talking about. His results in terms of beard to beard transplants etc seem topnotch. From what I understand the reason he isn't spoken about on here is something to do with legal issues between himself and this site... not sure of the exact details.
  8. Hi Nick, great choice to go with Dr Konior, from your pics you can already tell this is going to be a good result, the scar looks amazing as well. Best of luck with the growing... In terms of the FUT/FUE mix that you had how does this work? Does he extract the strip via FUT first and then implant those and go back after to do the FUE? Really interested to know how the FUT/FUE mix works because you don't see these cases very often... thank you for sharing your experience bro.
  9. Oh ok so this is industry standard or does it vary from clinic to clinic? This is definitely something I will ask the clinic when I do my consults. Cheers Gill.
  10. Yeah there is a component of artistry in the best hair transplant surgeons that's for sure... good point Melvin.
  11. Definitely Rahal over Erdogan when it comes to the recent results I have seen. No surgeon is without their risk of average results though so it's an estimated guess even then.
  12. Hey redarmy, my suggestion is do some thorough research through these forums and you will find a general consensus from other guys that are going through hair loss and have had hair transplants etc which will dispel the notion of a lot of these home remedies and what not. You can always give it a try, track the progress (if any) just to say that you tried it for yourself. I think some of these guys are making light of your question because they have been going through this process for years and are vets when it comes to all of this... forgetting that at one point in their journeys they were also in your position and didn't know what was fact from fiction... it's all good bro.
  13. Dr Diep and H&W are awesome surgeons, especially regarding FUT. I think H&W are recommending FUT due to the simple fact you risk less transection of the hairs which would be essential with a limited donor. Would you be able to handle a strip scar? That's another factor too bro.
  14. Really good points made here, so a lot of it still comes down to trust in spite of the amount of money we are paying for these HT's... so it's far from an exact science. I guess that's just the nature of this particular industry right now. I've seen some footage of Erdogans team counting as each graft is extracted so I was wondering if this was industry standard or not. I hope some of the other seasoned HT patients on the forum chime in so we can get some more definitive opinions as well.
  15. Hi Doug, I'm in Australia and I'm seriously considering H&W as one of the clinics to get my HT done at but is it correct that your clinic charges people outside of Canada in USD and not CAD?
  16. Hey guys, So scrolling through this site for months and researching all the various HT results one thing I find myself thinking is "is that really the amount of grafts that person paid for?". Often times I see photo's post surgery where someone paid for X amount of grafts and it just doesn't look like it's near the amount they have stated they paid for. This might just be a case of my untrained eye but it still concerns me being that we are paying top dollar for these procedures. So my question is... what confirmation is there that you are getting the grafts you paid for or do you literally just have to trust the clinic has implanted the amount you paid for?
  17. Thank you for sharing your experience, we need to see cases like yours to get a fair gauge on the good and bad of HT's. Did Dr Wong give you those touch ups for free after his initial result was average at best?
  18. Looks really good, any specific reason you chose Hasson over Wong?
  19. If Dr Konior is saying that I'd say there is your answer right there.
  20. I'm sorry to hear that mate, thank you for sharing your experience and for helping those of us undecided on which HT surgeon to go to. Dr Diep has slowly been sliding down my list of HT surgeons for awhile now and sadly your case is another example of why. He is good at hairlines, seems solid at FUT but his constant butchering of these donor zones that I see just doesn't cut it (pardon the pun) for me. Stay positive bro, Dr Nadimi's work will make the world of difference : )
  21. Yeah I hear you there. I think he does really good work on the hairline and also his FUT work seems really solid but his donors consistently seem butchered with the punch sizes he uses. Is there a correlation between his good hairline work and his larger punch sizes... is it a double edge sword? Does he get good grafts from his bigger punch sizes but also depletes the donor zone in the process?
  22. Do you know what size punch she would be using for neck hair extraction? Is it an 8mm punch? That may still leave scars
