  1. I think u have a difficult situation . N other people shouldn’t make u feel worse about it .. it seems like u had transplants every year since U started the hair transplant journey .. so u probably had to shave ur head most of those yeArs .. so u should be used to a shave head already .. I don’t think ur scalp can go through more trauma, ur scalp is still reddish from all that nonstop surgery , it probably inhibited ur body to giving good growth . 10k worth of needle picks to ur scalp is dramatic to ur skin n will definitely leave marks.. give ur head some time to recover .. there’s still hope for u if U can find some donor hair leftover either thru ur scalp or body hair .. but yeah ur options r limited now .. find the very best surgeon in ur mind to do some repair work without causing more damage n hopefully u can have some coverage that u r comfortable with ..all is is not lost u know.. yeah u wasted a lot of time n money on cheap n unproven doctors n wasted ur grafts but at this point in ur life u probably not looking for great expectations. Just trying to look normal with decent coverage .. at least the hair u have now is permantent hair , so try to fill it in more n be comfortable with urself again .. or just let the reddish scalp subside n shave ur head.. best of luck to ya ..things could of been better but it is what it is n no point being depressed about it , but try to make the most of ur situation n surround urself with supporting caring people .
  2. It’s native hair .. because it’s usually already weak n miniaturized,, that’s why u r Transplanting into that area; they r the last survivors of MPB in that area n soon to lose the battle .. so if u traumatize them they will lose the fight sooner.. a good doctor would be able to tranpsplant hair around them n not cause too much trauma.. but eventually they will die off because it’s their destiny .. so u will have gaps n need more surgery to replace those native hairs later on in life . The donor area usually grows back if experiencing shock loss from the transplant because it’s not affected by dht so the hair is still strong n thick n can survive the trauma of surgery..well that’s my understanding of things from doing my research
  3. Htsoon is making sense .. u too young n balding .. so the best u can do to manage ur situation is go on propecia.. keep what u got for as long as u can .. n since u are a diffuse thinner it will help u .. n with toppik or dermmatch u can make ur current thinning hair look thicker .. so u have some advantages with those options over someone that’s just receding .. make the most out of what u got .. look towards the positive n accept what you have to deal with . N make the most out of it ..
  4. I emphasize what u going through.. it is tough being a diffuse thinner .. especially at such an early age .. u probably will have a long battle with hair loss .. n it’s understandable that u want to do something about it right now .. u don’t want bald spots .. even though ur hair is thinning right now but at least u still have coverage . So u want to keep it like that.. - honestly u need to get on propecia .. just go on it for awhile to keep as much hair as u can ..u r destined to be a high Norwood.. n it’s already evident what ur hair loss pattern is going to be .. so u need to find a good doctor so U don’t waste grafts with bad transplant because u don’t have great donor hair . n u need to focus on school so U can make a lot of money In life cuz it’s going to be expensive battling with hair loss n transplants.. it’s obvious u want one n no one is going to change ur mind about that .. do a lot of research n make ur decisions wisely. Wish u the best ..
  5. I’ don’t know of all the best surgeons like most of the other veteran members here .. I go off by what they say also .then I do my research on those doctors n see what their abilities are n if it suits my needs . . but I’m pretty sure there going to be people on here that’s going to give u their opinions about their favorite surgeons .. I can only give u advice on what ur situation is and what ur game plan should be .. u will continue to thin out on top .. ur hair loss pattern is pretty evident .. it looks lke the horse shoe pattern in the future .. but at least ur donor on ur back n side is adequate , much better than some of the other people that has a similar pattern as urs .. n u still retaining hair up top for now .. so best u do the front hairline n midscalp.. n let ur native hair around the crown provide coverage until they are gone too .. there hope for ya.. If u want an artist .. then find a top surgeon for hairline work that gives u dense packing ..if u want a mega session to provide coverage , there are those too .. me personally from what I read .. in the US. Hasson n wong for megasessions from Canada .. Doctor diep in California for hairline work .. I’m getting a consultation from doctor diep in march myself .. but I’m only a Norwood 2 at 38 years old ..n want dense packing .. Ur situation is different than mines. U need a megassion .. probably 2 to 3 in ur lifetime .. So it’s best u pick someone that u plan on having a few transplants with that u can trust n build a relationship with ..
  6. Since u in Europe there is a few top surgeons in ur area so take advantage of more affordable surgeons due to currency . do ur research Go to the recommended ones .. u can save a lot of money since u r going to need a a lot of grafts in life .. since ur thinning a lot already .. as of now 2500-3000 grafts to ur front half would make a nice cosmetic look for u. Then work ur way back to the crown in the future.. it’s better to frame ur face first with a nice hairline n coverage to the midscalp.. Rather than have a a megassession that spreads hair all over ur top n cause shock loss to ur native hair. U just end up having coverage but see through hair ..
  7. Hi .. I had the capillus laser cap for 6 months .. bought it for $800.. I was hoping it would work , but my hair continued to shed n gotten thinner due to MPB. The laser didn’t seem to do much .. So after the 6 month guarantee .. I returned it n got my money back . Minus the $200 restocking fee .. so I got back $600 .. I don’t care about the money , it was the waste of time .. during those 6 months I should of been on FDA approved drugs ..like finasteride .. I would of kept more of my hAir instead of wasting 6 months on trying the laser Cap n natural supplements .. in theory I thought it would work , since lasers can grow plants , like tomatoes n marijuana etc .. - I mean I still hope that it would work but out of experience I found that it didn’t .. I have diffuse thinning and a full head of hair , a Norwood 1, now I’m a Norwood 2 .. I was hoping it would thicken up my thinning hair n make it thicker , but it didn’t .. — n I was reading up on a post from Doctor Feller , he has a YouTube video where he experimented with the laser , he put a piece of paper in front of the laser light n the laser didn’t penetrate it , instead the laser spread out ,.. so out of that experiment I know for sure it doesn’t work .. because if it can’t penetrate the paper , how can it penetrate into your skin which is much thicker n denser than paper . So the laser light won’t be able to reach your hair follicle which is deeper into the skin .. there’s no point on the laser touching you hair right ? Since ur hAir is already dead .. it needs to reach the hair follicle for there to be any benefits .. n if it can’t do that , then it doesn’t work .. simple as that .. Save ur money n time .. until they can make better lasers that can penetrate through the skin .. what I said makes sense ?
  8. Oh yeah .. be careful with PRP it’s expensive $1500 around for a session n u need a few sessions n have to do it every year .. n it doesn’t work too well .. I rather save that money for a transplant.
  9. Your hair is very similar to mines. I was planning to do 1200 to hairline .. but the doctor canceled on me at the last week .. saying I should use finasteride for a year first .. he said there was a high chance I would experience shock loss to the native hair .. at first I was disappointed about that .. but now I think it was the right decision .. just like u I panicked when my hairline started to recede .. I’m also a Norwood 2 .. but I don’t think mentally i was going to be able to handle it .. n I needed to let my hair stablize first so in a few more months I’m going to go ahead with a transplant .. while I still have hair up top to comb it forward like Justin Bieber to cover up the surgery .. that way I won’t have to shave my head .. but yeah if u do go with a transplant for the hairline. , be ready to get a 2nd surgery in 4-5 years to the midscalp.
  10. Oh yeah .. If u traveling overseas to save money .. then go with the best in turkey .. erdogan seems like Top of the line
  11. Get an online consultation .. save time n money .. if u making the effort to travel .. then might as well do it when u there .. unless u don’t feel confident in them in person then leave ..
  12. I can understand what you talking about .. hair transplant surgery is expensive .. u have to get the most value for ur money... but I think u should I should get the top of the line doctor an A surgeon that is more expensive to do the hairline around 1400 grafts . Since it’s the most important. .. then later on u can go to a B+ physician or out of country one that charges less to do the midscalp n reinforce the hairline for around 2600 grafts .. cuz who wants to pay for the whole 4000 grafts at around $8 = $32,000 .. not everyone is rich .. — I’m planning on doing around 1200 grafts n choose an expensive doctor like diep $10 graft or Baubac or mohebi $8 a graft.. for my first procedure . Around $10,000.. . then down the line when my mid scalp loses hair n some of the remaining native on the hairline .. that will require another 2000-2500 grafts .. imma going overseas for that ..probably Nader in Mexico or some top surgeons in turkey erdogan.. . $2.50 -$5 a a graft = for around $5000-$6000.. so in total for my lifetime transplant spending around $17,000 for hair .. .. I can justify that’s money well spent n worth it .. - so yeah I think u got the right idea .. but spend the most money on the hairline first u need less Grafts n a top doc for that .. since it’s the hardest to get right .. the midscalp is easier .. a A- or B+ doctor should be able to handle that.. Or go out out of buisiness ..
  13. Thanks for sharing your thoughts everyone .. it’s helpful n makes ya feel like u ain’t the only one suffering from hair loss.. losing hair is a big deal .. no matter how small or big ur hairlloss is.. I think when u not knowledgeable about hair loss n u just noticing it is the hardest part , because u don’t know how much it’s going to progress . I learned a lot from this website .. n has eased my mind .. at least I now know what to expect n what actions I can take , whether it be meds or surgery .. .. I’m wishing everyone the best of luck n support .. especially u BeHappy.. ur story touched me the most :. It’ must of been extra difficult since ur mom wasn’t so understanding of ur situation n. Blaming u instead of supporting u . .. I wish u could of yelled back at her .. hey Mom , it’s not my fault I’m losing hair .. it’s MPB !!!
  14. For me . It just just 6 months ago when I went to my Kaiser dermatologist to get a prescription of propecia. I was 38 .. first thing he said to me was I was going to be bald like bruce Willis .. I was like is it really that bad? I was a Norwood two with full coverage n thinning hair .. minor recession in the temples .. they made me super depressed, but dude didn’t know shit .. didn’t know anything about finasteride or dht tests .. I asked him to do some tests .. he was so sure of himself .. he said I can already tell. Then he used the microscope n looked at my hair .. n was like ohh I see miniaturization here at the hairline n blah blah .. I can even do a biopsy test if u want .. dude was so sure of himself that I was going to be bald .. I don’t think he realize that there’s different advancement of losing hair ..if I was going to be bald I would of had a family history of baldness .. n would of started balding in my early 20’s.. I think I might get to a Norwood 3 A around 50 .. if I Take propecia .. bald tho is not likely .. I don’t trust his opinion because when I asked for a DHT test he said there wasn’t any .. so I googled it for him .. that mofo didn’t even know the benefits of propecia or the side effects .. he had to google it to know more about it .. what that fuk is that right ? U a dermatologist at Kaiser .. u should know more than what I can read online.. Well I’m hoping for the best but that dude literally made me depress all of 2017 .. fukin Insensitive people ..
  15. Oh yeah .. I think u got good hair genes .. by lookin at ur fro back in the days. U had alot of hair ..n u retained most of ur hair thru ur 40’s.. I think drugs n old age is catching up to ur hair .. thinned it out .. but at least it’s not too bad for 58 .. still got hair to frame ur face .. what Norwood r ur brothers n parents ? I’m trying to figure out if it’s the excessive exercise n steroids that caused ur thinning hair or just age n genetics ..
  16. Would of never guessed u are 58 .. I think ur case is difficult for a transplant without fear of shock loss of native hair. .. since u are more of a diffuse thinner than a receder.. like me . I guess hair matters to us when we were young n old.. I think u should get as many grafts as possible in one shot . Since u are getting up there in age .. u won’t need to be chasing ur hair .. get it done n get it done right !
  17. Sorry about ur bad experience .. I think a lot of the hair clinics have so many customers nowadays .. they don’t take the time to do their best .. n when they don’t do their best u get unsatisfactory results even though we pay good money for their work .. another day another dollar .. but we have to live with the results..
  18. Also how come u didn’t get more grafts for ur second procedure ? 1700 doesn’t seem like a lot for hairline n midscalp .. I’m not sure if u will get enough density ..
  19. Did the first transplanted hairs fall out ? From ur pre-op pic it seems like u lost ur hairline .. so was the first transplant a failure ? It looks like u never even had a transplant before ... Wishin u the best with ur second procedure . It looks like u should get good results
  20. It’s not growing back .. they overharvested in a small area .. usually they spread out the extractions in a big area so u won’t get patches like that ..
  21. I wanted to do the Artas too when I was first research HT’s but I know better now .. use only MAnual punches .. Artas is actually more expensive it’s $8.50 a graft In California .. don’t be fooled by the marketing of using the latest greatest technology ..nothing beats experience ..
  22. Hi all .. I’ really want to do a hair transplant .. but after reading of others experience of the lingering redness and rough skin due to the the needle punches onto the recipient area it worries me .. How often is this occurrence ? Usually the pinkness lasts only a few weeks right ? Not years ? - I read on the Balding blog where doctor Rassman said if u scratch your forehead and within 5 minutes your skin becomes pinkish / reddish the. Ur skin is histamine prone .. so the lingering pinkness will last longer than others .. what are your guys thoughts ? If that’s the case can’t you take an anti histamine pill to relieve the redness ?
  23. Hey spidey your results were really good .. your transplanted Hair grew in well .. but why are you so unhappy about it ? Are your native hairs behind the hairline thinning out ? U need to go on finasteride. It will ease your mind , the sides ? It’s really over hyped by fear mongers. I gave it a try 2 years ago for 4 months with no sides .. but after reading online I got scared n got off it .. it was a huge mistake .. my hair got a lot thinner n receding now .. now I’m back on it fin for the last 4 months .. no major sides .. n I can’t wait to pop that pill every morning .. it’s the only thing I know that will prolong ur hair Give it a shot .. — also do u think u because u got the excessive lingering redness n rough skin because u were hasson n wongs first Fue patient ? Cuz of this is what makes me fear getting a transplant. Please upload ur current pics ok? - also I was reading the balding blog from doctor Rassman. N he said he can tell if someone is prone to having a lingering reddish skin after a transplant by having them scratch their forehead .. n if it turns pinkish within 5 minutes it means your skin is histamine prone .. so u will turn red easier .. - I tried that on myself .. n my skin does become pinkish , but not too red. So I’m hopeful. Try that on ur self n see..
  24. Yield doesn’t look great ..looks see through .. but when it was dry it looks fine .. how many grafts did u get in first transplant ? N if u wanted to lower ur hairline more . Y didn’t u do it the first time ? Well kinda glad u didn’t .. cuz the yield ain’t great n u Would of wasted more grafts .. good luck on ur next procedure .. if u get good yield 2nd time around ur hair should look great
