  1. Looking great for 4 months! Good for you. any chance you have some before/after pics from your first procedure?
  2. Looks like it worked out great. What questions were you going to ask? what’s your age? Are you on meds? I’m assuming this was FUT? Any other “before” pics?
  3. It would be very informative to see your strip scars and donor area in general following all of these procedures, if you felt comfortable sharing. Either way, great result, enjoy it.
  4. Unfortunately, this is mostly anecdote and conjecture, and isn’t evidence-based. Doesn’t mean that there aren’t any other possible treatments out there for MPB that we haven’t yet discovered, that could one day be proven to be effective, but right now we only have min and fin. Anything else is unproven and unstudied for human use, and is likely a waste of time and money, and possibly even harmful since the long term effects of rubbing peppermint oil or other substances on your head are unknown.
  5. Sorry. Massaging your scalp, with or without essential oils or any other substance, has zero impact on hair loss and is a waste of time and money.
  6. As you should be! very very natural appreciate all you've shared I’m just being greedy, but wondering what it looks like wet and combed through ? Is it detectable at all in that condition?
  7. Unfortunately, the data we do have does not necessarily support this. There was a study done that showed topical fin reduced serum DHT (throughout the body) to the same extent that oral fin did. So, physiologically, there isn’t much basis to assume that the topical formulation can’t cause sides.
  8. Wow, that's a great frontal third restoration and an excellent hairline. Good for you! For completeness sake, since you said he restored hair in the midscalp and towards the crown as well, it would be great to see a top down shot. How is the scar healing up and maturing? Any shots of that?
  9. Precisely. I actually am a doctor, and given the data that we do have about topical fin impacting serum/systemic DHT to a comparable extent as the oral formulation, physiologically it doesn’t make sense to me that using the topical version would eliminate the potential for adverse hormonal effects. Despite how much I wish that were the case.
  10. Well, studies suggest topical fin is effective at maintaining or possibly improving hair. That said, studies of topical vs oral fin also confirm that the topical application lowers the serum DHT to the same extent as the oral version. Frankly, this means that the systemic (throughout your body) effect of topical fin should be the same as oral fin. I had sides with oral fin and have toyed with the idea of trying the topical version, but I just don't see how it is less risky when it has the same systemic hormonal impact as the pill does.
  11. You can definitely be too bald for HT to give you the appearance of a full set of hair. You just have to be ok from going from flat out bald to balding/still having bald spots, essentially, this being the expectations you mention.
  12. I don’t know, I hear people saying that about their 30s 40s 50s! I think if you care about your hair enough to consider surgery and medical treatment now, you will always care about your hair. I don’t know, I hear people saying that about being in their 30s 40s and 50s! I think if you care about your hair enough to undergo surgery and medical treatment now, you will always care about your hair. But I understand what you’re saying.
  13. Wow, looking great! And holding up well, no further loss visible over the 3 years. If I recall, you aren’t using Fin?
  14. Hey man. How are things coming along a few years down the road? Hope the hair is holding up great.
  15. Glad to hear that your HT had such a positive impact on your life. did you create a thread about your procedure and results? Would be cool to see it
  16. Well, sure, I suppose. But in many years of reading these forums I have never seen someone have 5 small procedures. The norm is still to have more sizeable HTs done. Not necessarily a mega-session, but most procedures are at least 1000-1500, likely even more. 5 small procedures sounds more time consuming, more disruptive to life (planning, time off, recovery, etc) and potentially more expensive (many clinics taper price per graft as the size of the HT increases).
  17. Wow, 5 HTs. What’s your age? Do you have additional donor supply for a 6th?
  18. Looking forward to your new thread ... wondering how your 2013 results have held up, and what role meds have played in your journey.
