  1. Wow, considering where you started this is a life-changing result. Looks outstanding. Congrats. Sorry if I missed it, what is your current age? Were you on finasteride at all previously?
  2. Thank you so much for sharing your story and perspective. It’s very helpful. I’m at a crossroads, and will likely have to decide soon if I want to go down the surgical route or shave down/let nature take its course. I’m only a NW3-4 at this time, and I feel I have some favorable hair characteristics, and I am already in my 40s .... but my situation is complicated by the fact that I can’t tolerate finasteride. Do you have any pics that you’d be comfortable sharing? It’s always interesting to actually see what is achievable over the long-term for someone who is destined to be a high NW.
  3. Wow Have you ever compiled a post that goes through the chronology of your hair, pre and post all of your various procedures? It would be highly informative to the community. How old are you and how is your hair holding up these days? thanks
  4. Haha Curious if you took any pics of the donor area when you were buzzed down? thanks for again sharing your experience with the forum.
  5. Good for you! Glad to see that your result is holding up so well. In total, how long have you now been on propecia and/or avodart? Have you remained completely free of side effects?
  6. It is but keep in mind this is after 3-4 FUTs!
  7. This may be old news, as apparently it happened back in May. Cheyenne Jackson is a fairly successful TV actor (American Horror Story, The Watchmen) who recently “came clean” out of the blue on Instagram about having undergone 5 HTs over the course of his career. I believe he started in his 20s and is now in his 40s. In his post he’s very up front about it and communicates a pretty cool message of how balding and HTs shouldn’t be something people are ashamed of. He also includes a picture of the back of his head to reveal the strip scar as well as what appears to be FUE scars (he doesn’t address what surgeries he had and how many times, but by appearance it looks like maybe 4 strips and an FUE). All of it is pretty interesting both from a message standpoint and from the standpoint of seeing what multiple procedures can achieve (his hair looks great) and what the resultant scarring will look like. Just google “Cheyenne Jackson hair” if interested. Hope everyone is well.
  8. Looking good. Best of luck! I’m curious, did Dr Hasson mention FUT as a possibility? If not, why did he push for FUE only?
  9. Great coverage. Definitely benefiting from the low hair to scalp contrast as well (gray hair, pale scalp).
  10. I agree that it seems like a reasonable time to address the crown if it is bothering you, especially considering you’ve been on propecia long term and presumably are tolerating it. any chance you could share pics and info on your hairline procedures?
  11. FWIW I didn’t get the impression that you were masquerading. You mentioned that you got a threat FUT result from Hasson. Congrats! Would you mind sharing your story and photos?
  12. Tbh I find this concerning. geverally speaking, many (most?) HT surgeons acknowledge that FUT is more likely to produce a higher yield. And clearly, in HW’s hands, FUT has produced many great densely packed results in the past. furthermore, if you’re a high Norwood it’s pretty clear that starting with FUT and using FUE later is the best strategy for optimizing donor supply. Would really like to hear a better explanation from them on why they don’t recommend FUT. hoping it’s not because they make significantly more money doing FUE than FUT.
  13. Why were you only offered FUE and not FUT as well?
  14. Looks amazing, congrats! Still planning to include your frontal work as well here? thanks for sharing.
  15. Looks very clean can you expand bit on why you chose FUT over FUE?
  16. Looks very promising. Please keep us posted! what’s your age? Are you using fin/min?
  17. Dim lighting with a soft blue background makes the “after” results tough to fully assess
  18. Agree with the other comments here. Have any photos that you are comfortable sharing? Would be helpful for the community.
  19. Congrats on your transformation! I agree with your second point ... fin not only helps the balding areas, but it also improves the density and appearance of the donor area as well. This is an underappreciated benefit for those that can tolerate fin/choose to use it while also undergoing an HT. Anyway, looking forward to your next update!
  20. I'd disagree with this a bit. Don't get me wrong, HW clearly hit this out of the park, and their transplant work here makes up the bulk of what @Aftermath is now enjoying. Fin alone won't give you that hairline if you were already balding to the extent that he was. But, some studies indicate that finasteride continues to improve hair appearance and density over years of treatment, beyond just the 12-18ish months that you need to be on it to see results. So his AGA could very well have continued to improve over a period of time that dovetailed with his series of HTs. If you look at the pics he recently posted that show his hair after the Farjo procedure, you can see areas of pretty extensive miniaturization (but not quite bald yet) that likely still had a chance to revive/improve from blocking DHT over the longterm. I also think that fin improves the state of donor hair as well, I know mine certainly gained and then lost some thickness and sheen when I started and then stopped fin. This has an impact as well. Again, I don't think these were the primary factors here, but I do think they can make a significant difference and I don't think you can attribute all of this amazing result strictly to the surgical work (which again, was awesome, don't get me wrong). Just my two cents. Either way, happy for you @Aftermath and I'm sure you're continuing to inspire many suffering from MPB to take the HT plunge.
  21. Amazing. Good for you. my sense is that your results had a lot to do with your use of finasteride as well. Really a testament to what fin+ HT can accomplish in the right conditions (for those that can tolerate fin and are willing to take on the small risk associated with its use). have you remained side effect free for the 12ish years you’ve been on it?
  22. Do they subscribe to the school of thought that starting with FUT for your first procedure, then “stripping out”, then changing to FUE as needed significantly optimizes one’s lifetime supply of grafts? If so, by what % (on average) does this approach increase lifetime supply vs someone who starts with and only uses FUE?
  23. Any responses to these yet? I saw you already posted a new Q/A for Dr Arocha... Thanks!
